Remove tips at Customer Service but make sure you tip the bar backs that bring up the bottles of booze you drink from or they guy that loads the clean towels for your room steward. Search them out since you cheap out and remove tips and only pay the people you directly interact with.

You probably know this but for others...Bar tips are separate from the daily gratuity. The bartenders and servers get their tips from the 18% that is added on. There are also people who tip extra in cash.

And I agree! It is a way to cheap out by removing tips.

  2. The first MSC Meraviglia cruise I sailed on I had to go to Guest Services to ask about my gift. The second time, on the same ship, the same type of gift was left for me in my stateroom.

I did not go to the spa but your answer is yes according to my friends who used it on the first cruise.

They take a photo of you or your group at the VC gathering. You get it at the Photo Shop.

MSC is refusing to allow a single to book a cabin on their ships. You can go on and book a cruise and there are lots of cabins available, but then backup and change the  passenger to one and  it says no cabins available!!!   It will not let you boo a cabin even  if you pay double the rate!!!!  Have heard they want more people on board to buy drinks and spend money,  We usually book 7-9 cabins and one s a single with the others with 2-3 in a cabin and many are 1 or 2 cruises from black status..  If they will  not allow singles, they will lose all our bookings for the other cabins.   Shame on you MSC   Looks like discrimination!

There are some cruises, in December of this year for example, that you cannot book as a solo now but there are some that you can.I am actually booked as a solo on two in December. I booked them over the summer. I was looking at a cruise in January as a solo and one in April and was able to book those if I wanted to.
I just cam back from a solo on MSC and took one in May. I think it is weird that you can't book as a solo for some of them even with a supplement.
    It is not discrimination.

Well put. This was our only complaint about our May 7th sailing. But I will say that it was not only Asian travellers. People treat a buffet like they it's the last meal of their lives! We were so happy to see people getting yelled at heading off of the ship. One woman cut the line and tried to skirt past customs!! Right before you leave the terminal there is a huge overhead sign that says once you leave you cannot go back. Another woman was trying to get back in and was getting yelled out that there was no way she was going back in. We LOVED it.

I was on that sailing as well. Same complaint!

I highly recommend an adaptor to take advantage of the multiple European outlets in the room, because there are only two US outlets. I got this one off of Amazon:

I had one of these in May on the Mera and I think it is one of my favorite things I ever brought on a cruise! Do get one! You will be very happy!

I am also on the September 4 cruise... and 2 weeks in December... and possibly another one!

I was also an experienced cruiser on other lines, mostly NCL. We took our first MSC cruise in April and today we will be booking our second one, sailing December 9 out of NYC. For the price, you absolutely cannot go wrong. I suggest you give it a try. Some things I found much better on MSC and others better on NCL (I prefer freestyle dining). The Meraviglia is the most beautiful ship I have sailed on.

I, too, have cruised mostly on NCL. I cruised on the Meraviglia in May. I had a great time! The cruise director was great as was her assistant.

I will be on the December 9 sailing as well and one or two before that.

We are going for my 50th birthday in October. We switched from Canada on the Breakaway and saved over $500 for same everything. Looking forward to a warm vacation instead of cold. I think the entertainment is better on the Getaway and it has the Mojito Bar. Should be an awesome trip!

Just got off of the Getaway and the entertainment is great!

Great concept, horrific service after product fail. Ordered Covid test kits from Inspire, for my 3, as recommended on NCL. Kit arrived at my home in Colorado . Brought kit to Miami and had appointment for 9 am this am with proctor. Opened box. Three test kits, but one was missing a test cassette. Inspire offered no remedy, (though I had several great ideas) except for me to run around town and find a kit. They had testing sites, but none in Aventura( $150 ride to Miami proper.) When I’m in my expensive hotel with spa and golf appointments, and water park for my kid…. Which I can’t do because of their error???I’ve no car. Sail tomorrow.  Seriously???? I have to fix Inspire’s error, and run around without a car, waste my day, to find a specific kit? Asked if they could cover a port Covid test charge… no. NCL: quality control issues abound, but this service was booked on your advise/ NCL partner. There must be a backup plan when time sensitive test fails due to product error! Unacceptable!

This is terrible. What did you end up doing?

I'm not sure it's the same for every cruise, but on the 12/27 sailing, it was Guest Services.  There was a line specifically for Vibe passes, and a woman handed out numbered cards to those waiting in line - which was nice because it gave us some confidence we would get one.

Thank you! We got Vibe passes on a cruse awhile ago and had to go (run) to Headliners.

I got a Vibe pass on the 12/27 sailing.  It was $229 for the 9-night cruise.  They said they were selling 100+ passes.  They started boarding at Noon and I was in group 7.  I went right to Guest Services after I checked in at my muster station - so around 12:40?  A woman handed out cards to the line for Vibe, and I had #88.  People joined the line after me, but not many <20.  We were in line for almost an hour.  Not sure what the hold up was.

It was very windy up there some days, but I never saw it very crowded.  I ended up in isolation with Covid, so I didn't get to use it for the whole cruise.

Where did you have to go to get passes? Was it Headliners?
