Depends on the weather conditions.  We've taken the ferry when it was smooth ride, bumpy ride and "wild" ride. You can see the conditions in the channel as you approach the piers. If there are white caps, take your preferred sea sick medicine before leaving the ship.  And maybe take a dose for the return as conditions can be different.

    Thank you so much @crewsweeper.

I will be sure to watch the water as we get closer to the pier.

  2. Hello everyone,

We have booked the "XPLOR: High Adventure Theme Park with Lunch" excursion in April 2024 through Royal Caribbean.

I am a bit concerned about the following note in the description: "Xplor Park is located on the Mainland requiring a 45-minute ferry ride to Playa del Carmen. Guests prone to seasickness should take precautions."

For anyone who has done this excursion through RCCL with the ferry ride, how bad was it in terms of seasickness? I always take my Dramamine or Bonine on cruises, so I will definitely take it for this, yet I was curious if anyone could comment on the severity of the rocking of the ferry.

    Thank you!

  5. Do you remember what movies were playing on the Coral? (We love MUTS and are sailing on the Grand in 29 days)

These were all the MUTS movies:

    - Arrival

    - Hidden Figures

    - La La Land

    - Lion

    - Passengers

    - Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

    - Fences

  6. did you embark in Vancouver? I've have been noticing by Princess webcam that the Coral is late leaving Vancouver everytime? Can you tell me why?

We did embark in Vancouver. That particular day, we were late leaving Vancouver because there were 4 ships at Canada Place, and the lines to get on the ship were very long.

We were supposed to sail away at 4:30, but we ended up leaving at 8:00.

  7. We got back from an Alaskan cruise on the 20th! It was our first time in Alaska, and our first time cruising with Princess. We had a fabulous time. Great crew and ship (Coral). Alaska was so beautiful. The weather was great!! Let me know if you have any questions. :)

  8. Summary

Despite the frustration with the buffet on the veggie burger, I ate extremely well. My wife, who is vegetarian also ate really well. I'd argue it was actually easier than getting by at most restaurants in major cities. As long as you're willing to ask questions, you'll get results.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience! I am a vegetarian, with a leaning toward veganism. We're sailing to Alaska on the Coral in 2017 (so excited!!), and your review was informative and helpful to know what I could expect (I have already received an email from the dietary coordinator as well).

  9. Bumping this thread up just in case things have been updated since a few years ago.

We are cruising with Princess to Alaska in May 2017. Under the excursions for Juneau, I see 2 different dog sled experiences:

    1) Dog Sled Summer Camp ($149.95)

    2) Sled Dog Discovery & Musher's Camp ($139.95)

Both are the same length. If the second one is the one that dave n did, then I am sorry to hear it wasn't a good experience.

Has anyone done one or the other (or both) and wish to comment? :) Just wondering how they are different.

  10. Sorry this took so long! I have attached two Platters, the ship's log at the completion of the sailing and an insert from GB National Park.

RaiderCruiser, thank you so much for posting your Patters! I've been looking for some recent ones to look at to get excited and more familiar with what to expect for my first Alaska cruise in 2017.

Very interestingly, we are going on the same itinerary as you did (7-day NB on the Coral, same timeframe)!

  11. I stayed at the CoCo View Resort in Roatan (not connected to a cruise). They have great diving opportunities!

I remember the safety stops even had nice reefs and critters to see. They have wrecks and walls, too. Did not see any big critters (other than a turtle), which is what I was hoping for. :)
