most of the specialty coffee drinks at the cafe on the promenade deck were between $3 and $5 when I was on the Liberty about 16 months ago.The answer is no, it wouldn't be worth it for you. A cocktail and a couple of coffees would be less than $20.
Thank you! This definitely helps!

Frozen fruity drinks are about $9 each, with a special each day for $1 off. Beers are about $6. Some think with the improvements to Cheers that prices might increase. You have to compare how much you would spend buying drinks one at a time vs. cheers for $50 per day.
Thank you. This is good information for me, since I am so new to this.
Does anyone know how much a specialty coffee drink is? I might possibly have a Starbucks addiction. I could conceivably see myself having one or two coffee drinks, plus perhaps a fruity/slushy alcoholic beverage each day.... and a soda.... Just trying to figure out if this is a good financial decision or not!

Thanks for the info... should have ordered last week when I realized you could, but it's still better than lugging my own!

We sail on her for a brief honeymoon a month from tomorrow! So excited!

That is not an official government website and you should not rely on the accuracy of its information.
This is the Department of State's official website page laying out the requirements/procedures for renewing your passport. It's part of the site sparks1093 referred you to:
http://travel.state.gov/content/passports/en/passports/renew.html
The following answers your question regarding the use of your old passport for purposes of obtaining a renewal:
Renew a Passport
Renew by Mail if All of the Following are True
Your Most Recent U.S. Passport:
Is undamaged and can be submitted with your application;
Was issued when you were age 16 or older;
Was issued within the last 15 years; and
Was issued in your current name or you can legally document your name change with original or certified copy of your marriage certificate or the government-issued document evidencing your legal name change.
If any of the above statements do not apply to you, you must Apply in Person.
That is the exact info I was seeking. Thank you so much! *off to apply for a 'new' one*

This is an easy site with answers too. http://www.us-passport-service-guide.com/obtain-a-us-passport.html
I'll check that one out, too! Thank you!
-
You can find the requirements at www.state.gov but I believe that if it is less than 15 years old it counts as a renewal.
I will check out that link. Thank you!

I have a passport that expired more than 10 years ago (I think). Anyone know whether I apply as a 'new' passport on the application? I don't want the government thinking I am trying to scam anyone!

Thank you for this information on the ATV/Zipline shore excursion. I am pretty new to cruising and I have certainly never been on an ATV or done a zip line before but it sounds fun. You had no qualms about being left behind? That is a concern I have about shore excursions....
Thank you!

Sorry to be ignorant... is "downtown" where I would go to get to the Princess cruise terminal? Anyone have a cab rate for that trip?
-
Caribe are half covered so they stick out 1/2 way but as mentioned you can retreat back to the covered area. They are the biggest reg balconies and a tad larger then the mini suite balconies.
Thank you! I changed to the Caribe deck. I like the idea of having a choice whether to be covered or not!
-
Thank you all so much for the input. You've all given me lots to think about. I am not taking my kids on this trip, and I will definitely get a balcony!
-
That is the current. If you were to check again at the 90 day mark you might find Carnival more expensive.
Princess starts out high and goes lower as it gets closer to the cruise Carnival usually gets more expensive as they only have 1 ship doing Alaska
Bill
Thank you for that tip. Do I keep checking back with Princess? Do you know offhand whether they will adjust my fare (if that's the right word) if I find that they offer a lower price later?
-
Baja & Aloha decks are also covered.
Thank you!
Yes go for caribe deck balconies are almost twice the size (we booked our first one by accident but will always try for now) and if you want privacy or shelter you can get it.Good to know, perhaps I will change it. Thank you!
-
Sorry, I should have clarified. I have just a balcony room, not any kind of suite. Currently booked on the Baja deck and just want to confirm (if possible) that I don't "stick out" farther than the decks above me!
Thanks!
-
^ Thank you! I am not sure I have ever really understood the "category" thing anyway! Nothing major, then. Thanks again!
-
Sorry if this has been addressed... not sure exactly how to ask this to make clear what I want to know!
I have seen a few photos of the balcony configuration on either side of the ship. It appears that on the lower decks with balconies, the balconies "stick out" farther so that the next level above them looks down into them. Farther up, it appears the balconies are all "even," if that makes sense.
If this is the case, does anyone know the deck level with the lowest balcony that is still "even" with the ones above it? I want a balcony, but I don't want people looking down on me from THEIR balconies, if that makes sense??
Thanks, experts!

Hi there... I just booked a cruise for September 2016 and when viewing the deck plan it asked whether I was choosing before or after May 2016. Does anyone know what they might be changing during that time? Sorry if this has been addressed elsewhere....
-
Wow, thanks everyone! I will be sure to check itineraries carefully and also check out Holland America.
Leaving from Seattle, do you think it matters whether I get a port or starboard facing cabin? I imagine I'll get a view one direction and no view the other, regardless?
-
Sorry, I wasn't sure which forum to put this in.
Looking at Alaska cruises for next summer. Just for kicks I decided to price on on Princess and another on Carnival, choosing the "closest to same" possible dates. The price is almost $1000 difference between the 2 lines! What am I missing? I want a comfortable room with a balcony and some great scenery, which I am probably going to get on either cruise. Any insight as to why it is such a major difference? Is it just the brand name factor?
-
Hi all, sorry, no I didn't research beforehand, but this is a (very short and inexpensive) honeymoon so I don't foresee my dates changing and I was trying to keep it as cheap as possible.
Thanks for all the info and advice!
-
That actually helps a lot! I will keep my eyes peeled. Thanks so much!

Booked my first cruise on line a few weeks ago using the Early Saver fare. I don't know much about cruising or pricing (or anything else for that matter) but I am wondering if anyone knows... if it's already paid for, and the price drops, are the Early Saver fares eligible for a credit or however that would work?
Thanks, experts!

Thank you all so much for the tips and advice!
I do currently have a short cruise booked. I was wondering if there was an way to find such a cabin on a future cruise, because I feel this is something we will really enjoy.
I will perhaps engage a TA when I am ready to look again.
Cost of a single beer and a single soda?
in Carnival Cruise Lines
Posted
Can anyone give me a general price range for a single beer (I don't know what kind they have)? We leave in a couple of days and we are just curious to know what to expect, price wise.
Also, does anyone know what a single soda from the fountain costs?
Thank you!
