  1. Cruisemapper shows our scheduled stop in Nov is at Amber Cove.

The Amber Cove website has a port schedule and it doesn't show any arrivals on that day.

The Taino Bay website shows no arrivals at all for the month of Nov.

I figure at this point it's just a coin flip

  2. Sorry to hijack, but still related to the question at hand of cancelling excursions so figured I'd hop on instead of making a new post.

On an upcoming cruise I've got roughly $450USD in OBC. I'd like to use it towards excursions, but I'd also like to pre-book the excursions to reserve a spot.

I've read of people pre-paying the excursions and then going to the shore excursions desk on board and refunding/rebooking to use the OBC. Our first port is inside the 48hr window from embarkation, so it sounds like this won't be possible with this one. The next 2 ports are outside of the 48hr window, but it sounds like they'll just credit me more OBC which will put me right back to where I started.

Is there any way to successfully use the OBC towards excursions without crossing our fingers and hoping they're still available when we get on board?

We had this issue as well - took care of it via the "Chat with an Agent" feature on the NCL site.  It was updated and correct about 15 minutes after the chat ended.

    Great tip right here!

I used the "Chat with an Agent" feature. Was #8 in line. Took about 5 minutes to get someone. I simply said there's a glitch where the site wouldn't allow me to book the same restaurant on 2 nights. They asked which bookings I'd like to make. Gave them a list of the 3 remaining night's, locations and times. Less than 5 minutes later they had booked all of it.

Best of both worlds here. I got my booking done, and I didn't have to tie up the phone lines for @LGW59 so they're free to help with the luggage tags LOL

  4. @SANDPEBBLESThanks for this review. 1 question... I see you mentioned you met in the theatre at around 7:15am. What time did the ship arrive in port? We are on the Escape in November and have a 6am arrival into Tortola with a 1pm departure. Wondering if that was the same timeline for your trip or if you arrived later? 7:15am is reasonable, but any earlier than that it may just be too early to really enjoy the day.

Also, if you contact the NCL Access Department a regular (small) refrigerator can also be supplied. The "mini-fridge" that is standard in the cabins is not actually a refrigerator that cools to a certain temperature if you need to refrigerate meds.  The unit that the Access Department will supply is the "real thing."

This is a great tip! The mini fridges in the cabins are "cool" at best, certainly not cold. Good to know they have colder ones for those in need.

To OP, I've always grabbed a couple extra cartons of milk from the buffet at breakfast and bring them back to my room. I also grab a plate full of cookies from the buffet before bed. This way if I'm in the room and feel like a little snack anytime during the day, I can have milk and cookies handy LOL

Unless you have a large group, you will typically get in within minutes.

I did this once. Group of 2. I think we got in within minutes once. The rest of the time we were 20-30 minutes standing around and killing time waiting for a table. I've found as a party of 2 with pre-reserved times you'll sometimes get a table that sits 4 because it's all they have available at your scheduled time. But if you go the freestyle route, they'll wait for a table of 2 to open and save those open tables of 4 for walk-ins with 4 in their group.

    3. I didn't complain while I was on the ship

So the policy is you can only collect refunds for things while you're on the ship, instead of resolving matters post-cruise? It's somehow the customer's fault that the Internet desk was unmanned 20+ hours a day?

First, the internet access on a ship can be dodgy at times. It's satellite based and effected by position, weather, capacity during peak hours, etc. etc. But I would say #3 is your biggest hurdle. I think we've all had internet issues while on board ships, and completely understand the frustration especially when trying to schedule things like Zoom meetings. But if you stay quiet the entire week and then talk to them after and say "I used the product for an entire week without a single complaint, but now that I'm back home I want a refund because it didn't work", it's going to sound more like a story than an issue. If you went down to the internet concierge while it wasn't working, they could issue you credits right on the spot. They'd also be able to escalate your complaint right from the ship which essentially gives you proof of your issues for when you do request that full refund later.

Think of ordering a peperoni pizza and when you get home it's just cheese. You decide to eat it anyways and go back to the pizza place the next day and say "the pizza I ordered yesterday was supposed to be peperoni but it's just cheese. I didn't complain, and I still ate the pizza, but now I want you to make me another one for free". I doubt you get a new pizza.

If your attempting to book a reservation for a restaurant that you already have booked, you need to call. For some reason the system online will sometimes not allow you to book one restaurant for two different nights.

Is this true for all dining venues or just the paid ones? Been trying to book all our dining for 2 days now. Initially tried booking all 7 together and got a bunch of "no longer available" messages. So I started booking individually and got the first 4 days booked, but the last 3 days regardless of restaurant or time slot I'm booking just seem to disappear from the cart and won't let me complete. 2 are MDR's and 1 is a specialty, all 3 are already booked within the first 4 days.

Please don't call and tie up the line with something so minor that can be taken care of on-board

If you want your selection of dining time without having to wait for anytime dining, or getting stuck with a 9pm time because everybody else booked up the premium spots online, it's usually best to get them all taken care of in advance.

  9. I would fully expect cruise prices to be trending up right now and for the foreseeable future. I would guess the 2 largest expenses to operate a cruise would be fuel and food. The costs of each are climbing every week which makes every cruise more expensive to operate. So to maintain profit margins in a way that's responsible to their shareholders, they would have to raise the pricing to compensate.

  10. Our last trip in the haven (pre-covid), even without an escort you could usually walk to the person at the door regardless of the line and they'd wave you through. You'd usually hear a couple of "ahhh yaaa these people are in the Haven" with a little bit of sarcasm to it as you're walking through the door.

My husband and I went to this spa during the cruise we did for our anniversary and we loved it!  There are different packages but you get exfoliation, a body wrap, foot or head massage  and your choice of 60-90 min body massage in different types. It was heaven. We had lunch and then kayaked for a bit, they are included, Lunch was extra but great.  Super relaxing day!

The add says "Tropical Island Spa located at a beautiful lagoon side Resort in one of the islands most stunning locations."

Do you remember which resort this was in and approximately how much transportation costs?

  12. Much prefer the larger ships because of the entertainment options.

The smaller ships we've done we found there was usually only 1 option for something to do. For example at 1pm there'd be Bingo. If you didn't want to go to Bingo, you could sit in a lounge somewhere and wait for the next event at 2pm. We'd find ourselves sitting in our room watching netflix waiting for something fun.

On the larger ships there'd be Bingo plus 2 or 3 other options. Much easier to find something that fits our style and makes for more enjoyable time on board.

  13. Just an update for any future searchers.

It took roughly 2 weeks for my TA to get a proper answer from the MSC call center. They had to escalate it to the manager of the call center because nobody seemed overly sure on how much the package was supposed to be and if it was for 1 or 2 people.

Ultimately they added it to the account at $158 for the couple based on the price valid for 2 people.

Since then, from the main package page, the price valid for 2 people has been removed and I've seen the wording change back and forth from $158 per person to $158 per package. So it seems they are still trying to figure it out on their end. 😛

  14. Has anyone been to Sandals recently to confirm the price?
Their website lists it at $140. Check in the FAQ section, it lists the price for all locations

  15. The $158 per person sounds correct, we booked ours and it was £82 (with a discount) and it went through on our booking as £164 in total, so your total to cart should be $316, did you try adding it thought the MSC for me app ? that also allows you to add items to your cruise. If it does add it twice you can always cancel one of them. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the input. $158 per person seems steep for a 7 night cruise compared to a lot of the prices I read about being in the $55-$90 per person range.

I checked on the MSC for me app and it lists thermal area couples passes and single passes which the website does not differentiate. But it does not show any prices or give me the option to add it to my Cruise.

I'm still waiting for my TA. She called in yesterday and coincidentally got the same person I was speaking with, but he wasn't able to help her either. aea715761b86424945f2b6a0c4f16033.jpg

  16. Looking for some input from anybody who may have already booked the Thermal Area Cruise Pass online through the MSC site.

When I look at the small thumbnail from the main spa section it says "$158 per person". When I click on details it says "$158 per person. Price valid for 2 people". And when I click on "Add to Booking" and select both of our names it gives me a warning "Please, be informed that you are purchasing a per-couple package 2 times." If I check some of the couples packages available it says the same thing. For example Golden Jasmine - For Couples says "$1,096 per person. Price valid for 2 people" and gives the same warning when I select both people.

So I thought I'd call MSC on their toll-free number for clarification. 45 minutes on hold I finally got someone and he had to go look it up. He came back telling me the pricing was $308 per person and that he could not add it on to my booking because I booked through a TA. So his advice was to e-mail a screenshot of where it says "Price valid for 2 people" to my TA and ask them to match that pricing.

The whole thing seems off to me. I've heard the MSC site is terrible to navigate and if you call them you'll get 5 different answers. So I'm wondering if anybody here has successfully booked the thermal area pass for 2 and how they did it? I've attached screenshots of everything I'm seeing for reference.

So, it appears my photos have arrived overnight, so, let's go back a few days.

After embarkation buffet, we made our way to the room. To dispel all notions that 10078 is a larger room, here it is.

Sorry to revive such an old thread but I seem unable to message at the moment.

@maureencruiser With 10078 being what looks like right behind/underneath the stairs, did you notice any noise from people going up and down during your time there?

What is the discount code for Parricide Beach in Cozume?

I contacted them about a week ago because SUNSHINE and CARNIVAL were not working. They told me they had none available at this time but to continue checking in because they release them a few times per year. Doesn't help me at all since we leave in a week. We decided to just do the pay as you go
