  1. Phil - I went to the website mentioned in your post. What I found there related only to the double upgrade currently on offer, not the form to participate in the loyalty pay for the upgrades offer discussed in your posting of Azamara literature. What am I doing wrong?

  2.

If you look at the final line of the terms and conditions it covers it - it is based on loyalty level

I was told by an Azamara rep that, in addition to loyalty level, it's also a first-come, first-to-be-rewarded system. So, if two bookings have the same loyalty level, the booking that submits the upgrade (at $199 pp) form first will have priority. The rep said (I think) that the form wouldn't be available until Jan 1, 2015.

  3. We had the unfortunate experience of being locked out of our balcony on the Summit (one of the "new" aft Aqua cabins) around 11:00 pm one night. Fortunately, there was still one table of four passengers at the Sunset Bar, so I called for their help and then, when they couldn't hear me, YELLED for their help. One of them finally heard me, peered up at me, and realized our predicament. A short while later a crew member entered our cabin and rescued us. It was funny but also a bit worrisome - if we'd been in a port or starboard cabin and no one had heard us, we'd have spent an UN-lovely and cold night on our balcony. We were on a New England/Canada itinerary.

  4. We will be arriving in Talkeetna on the train from Denali (Princess cruisetour) about 4:40 p.m. and leaving from there at 4:40 p.m. the next day to go to Anchorage. My question is whether Princess runs multiple shuttles between Talkeetna and the McKinley lodge. We would like to have some time to look around Talkeetna but can't find anything that gives a shuttle schedule. Anyone with experience here?

I had the same question about a month ago, and Budget Queen suggested calling the lodge directly when it opened (estimated at that time at about May 15). I haven't gotten around to it yet, but I'm going to do it pretty soon. We have the same dilemma - want to do something other than sit in our room at the lodge and walk nearby trails. Wife has vetoed the McKinley Summit flight :(, so now looking for something else.
