There is elegant night, just no "lobster".
Google around for images of the menu for that ship/itinerary, or perhaps someone here has a recent one (or similar).
EDIT: This looks similar to the elegant night on the 4 and 3 night cruises we took last year:

The zucchini and eggplant parmesan is delish!

I recently had sushi at a local restaurant with lobster tail. It was far superior to Carnivals free lobster. This explains a lot.

I love the Prime Rib! Especially on the first elegant night when it is topped with delicious crispy onion rings
Yup. 2 months till my next cruise and that tasty prime rib!

Quite frankly, the free lobster tail isnt all that good. It's kind of rubbery. I much prefer the prime rib, which I always find to be fantastic

Anyone been on the inspiration since dry dock? Care to share photos? Before vs after differences?

Thank you for posting this. We usually sail from Galveston and have to listen to country music all week. Happy to see no country music on the fun times.

Good afternoon,
Just got off the Freedom yesterday. Food was great. Better I thought than on the Valor in April. BBQ place had good Mac n Cheese. Coffee on lido sucked (as usual). Buffett and dinner were consistently good. I enjoyed the new port day MDR breakfast. Avocado toast was tasty. Will attach MDR menus.. here it goes.
-
We last cruised in April. We were able to purchase drinks prior to reaching the 15 drink limit. We also purchased drinks for friends on our cards. Of course they arent
counted towards the 15 drink limit.

The JS on 9 is right next to a secret deck. We have looked from the secret deck area into the balconies on 9 forward. Not private at all.

Good morning,
Husband and I are upgrading to a suite on the Dream. We are afraid the balconies of the suites on 7 offer no privacy. Anyone with experience of the Junior Suites on 9 or Spa suites on 11. Are the balconies private? (I know there are "cameras everywhere" etc. Looking to be out of eye site of other quests).
TIA!

Ok, so I am hooked on suites now. Looking to book a suite on the Dream, but with the deck 5 wrap around, it doesn't look like the balconies are private. Are the junior suites on 9 better for privacy? I understand they may be smaller.

Sounds like you y’all had a great time. We sail on Thursday, can’t wait!!! Did you notice if Buffalo Trace was served?
What is that?

Just debarked the Valor this AM. A few of my observations:
Ship is small compared to Breeze and Dream. I missed the Ocean Plaza and deck 5 wrap around. BUT, no lines anywhere. Ship seemed almost empty at times. No wait for Anytime dining or at the buffets. Saw maybe a handful of children.
.
The lido buffet dinner was pretty much what was on the menu from the MDR. I liked this because I dont care for formal night and still got some (cold) prime rib from the buffet.
We had an ocean suite. It was amazing and beautiful. I loved the separate dressing area and the large balcony. The bedding was plush and comfy. The tub was very narrow. I'm a small person, and it was a tight squeeze for me. We were right off the lobby, so we could definitely hear everything going on in the lobby area. It didn't bother us, and didn't last all night long, but I could see it being an issue for light sleepers. We had priority embarking and debarking. We were off the ship and at our car at 0828. We enjoyed the priory lounge at the port as well while waiting to board.
I think if you can swing it, a suite is the way to go. We also got a free bag of laundry and would have had priority tendering (if we had a tender )
Overall , it was a great cruise. The suite made it extra special. The Valor is pretty and food as expected

Your docs should show you re in a suite.
They don't . Just say TBA.

Good afternoon,
I have a cruise coming up with a suite guarantee, but no cabin assignment. Because I dont have a cabin number yet, my boarding pass does not say priority. I called carnival and the agent told me to go to the priority line at the port and just tell them I am booked in a suite. I have sailed from Galveston before, and I dont know if this will fly.
Anyone have experience with getting to the port without a cabin assigned??

Which is why this is all so mysterious to me!😁😁
-
One reason is that there's more to revenue than the cabin price. The larger cabin set up for four or five is priced with the expectation of how much all those individuals will spend onboard. So, two people in that large cabin meant for four/five, even if they pay the "extra" fare of the non-existent other passengers, would deny the cruise line the onboard purchase revenue that would've been associated with the other passengers meant to be in the cabin.

But if the other 3 are children, the revenue potential decreases anyway. My husband and I gamble a lot, but my teen girls hardly spend anything on board.

It was not my intent to imply you couldnt afford it, my apologies if you took it that way. I would think that for 2 people, why would you want to book a suite for 5. That was just my train of thought
Not at all! Just day dreaming of one day having a big suite on a cruise ship.

Good morning cruisers!! If I get a Casino offer that includes Drinks on us in addition to Cheers, do I get more than 15 drinks per day??
TIA!
