  1. 2-5 play by themselves on one side. 6-9 and 10-11's have slightly different schedules but they end up playing together more often than not....especially if there are fewer number of kids.

On our last 8 day cruise, my 5 year old never got to play with her older siblings in camp. It wasn't a problem, she just made new friends

  2. Oh good point! LoL

I have arthritis in my knees. Wondering if it would be worth it, if there is something different about the water, or if it's just basically a large hot tub.

It's just a hot tub with salt water. I had the spa pass my last cruise and decided it was my last spa pass. Hot steam rooms and rock hard heated loungers are not my style. I had trouble "relaxing" on the heated loungers listening to the other occupants move around and some annoying water-dripping sound ambiance. If you do go, plan to sleep or bring a magazine. You can't really see out of the Windows due leaning position the lounger puts you in.

  3. Make sure you use a card that can handle the holds and not keep you from buying other gifts. My last cruise, I had over 800 dollars with of pre-approval/holds on it. Yes, it all cleared and only charged me the 21.99 that I bought the last day (the other items I paid for in cash). BUT it did keep me from being able to make purchases from off the free total amount on my card.

  4. Yes...you can wait until you're sure you want to do something...no need to book in advance on HMC. At the "private islands", there is really no need to do excursions at all, unless a pure and simple beach day isn't your thing!

Lol, the pure and simple beach day IS the problem. My husband is not a beach person and I am. And since he booked this surprise vacation for me months ago (I just recently found out) I'm trying to find an activity that we both will like.

  5. We just got off the Magic Saturday & dodgeball was a huge event on the ship. We watched grown men & women play the game competitively. There was always a big crowd of spectators. Rules had to be followed and there was a referee (CD staff) for the game too. Quite entertaining!

Thanks! It sounds like something that we would enjoy

  6. In my experience with carnival, the opposite is true. Very few last minute discounts. Boats completely sold out. If you're going to have any luck choose a popular port and and very common sailing. For example Port Canaveral just going to Nassau and Freeport.
