Were you looking on the .com website? I'm using the .co.uk website and definitely can't see any VB's available to book. Glad to hear you enjoyed navigator

Hi - been on P&O a couple of times but looking at a 7 night trip on Navigator of the Seas from Southampton. Was interested to see cost of virtual balcony cabins but the RCI website didn't give me the option of booking a 'J' grade cabin - does that mean they are all sold out? We were looking at May 2107 so seems unlikely they are all sold already. If we can't get a VB we were thinking of an OV right at the front of the ship on deck 7 (grade 'I') which overlooks the Helipad. Anyone had any experience of these cabins? Anything we should be aware of?
Thanks

Why don't you buy your whisky duty free and take it with you:)
That's a very good idea!! I was originally aiming not to have to bother carrying it onto the plane etc but it may well be the easiest option.

We have just booked for next year(our 25th anniversary), although it is a long way off I would be very interested to hear of your experience in St. Lucia in Dec 16 as opposed to Barbados, Tin Soldier.
In fact if anyone else has joined in St. Lucia and has any advice I would be grateful to hear about it.
I'll be sure to post a review after I come back. I posted a review of Ventura from last September. I really enjoyed writing it-it was a great way of remembering our holiday.

Hi Pat. That's a very kind offer but not to worry. Looking forward to meeting you and the others on the roll call :-)

Hi Devon Doll - so if thats the case do you know if there is anywhere that we will be able to get a bottle of a whisky?
-
according to P&O website it will be the same as any other fly-cruise, where we check in our baggage at the airport and don't see it again until we're onboard
-
Does anyone know roughly how long the transfer from airport to ship is?
-
sounds great - thanks for the quick reply :)

Hi - I'm very excited about a caribbean cruise on Britannia in December. We are joining her in Castries, St Lucia on Sat 10th Dec.
Does anyone know how long the transfer is from the airport to the ship and whether there will be the opportunity to buy any duty free spirits between the airport and the ship? Not looking to buy loads! Just a bottle of whisky to save having to wait for room service once we're on board. A whisky and coke on the balcony is always the official start of our holiday!! :D
Thanks

I didn't think pneumonia was contagious

I read somewhere that unlike Ventura, the theatre on Britannia does not have pop out/fold out tables in the armrests which means that waiting staff do not serve drinks directly to your seat? Can anyone confirm if this is correct?
Thanks

Ventura has fully interactive TV's but only little 20" sets with the old 4X3 format, and the IA facility is very slow to load as well as having very annoying and loud music.
Ahh yes! i had (thankfully) forgotten about that! it was insanely annoying!! Glad to hear it's not the same on Britannia :)

I think they ask customers not to connect their own devices as a precaution from viruses etc, IE memory sticks.
Thats possible but to quote (and to emphasise) from P&O's own page:
These ships have interactive televisions therefore the connection sockets are used to enable the use of the interactive systems.
-
If you scroll down to 'type of connections' it states that Britannia has an interactive TV and asks that passengers do not connect their own devices. Which of course makes it even more strange that Britannia doesn't offer fully interactive services...
-
thanks both of you for your helpful replies. I know its been said before in other threads but I'm amazed that Britannia doesn't have such a feature, seems like such an oversight especially when it is already available on Ventura/Azura.

We have just booked Britannia for a 7 night Caribbean cruise in December. I've read elsewhere on this forum that Britannia's interactive TV system does not enable you to check your on board account. Does anyone with recent experience of Britannia know if this is still the case, or even planned to change?
Also is it possible to order room service via Britannia's interactive TV (as is the case on board Ventura?)
Thanks

Hi - just thought you might like to see my review of Ventura 27th Sep 2015.

Enjoy!

We are in civitavecchia on Ventura today. In fact I'm sat on my balcony right now after just getting back from civitavecchia on the shuttle bus. There was only one stop which was about a 10 min walk from the port gates. There was no queue for the shuttle bus in either direction although we weren't off early to catch a tour

we booked Ventura in February when double on board credit was being offered. We sail next weekend and have £840 OBC :-)

Hi
Do black tie/formal nights mean that the dinner menu is always the Gala Dinner menu or do some black tie nights have the 'standard' dinner menu?
Thanks

Better to buy the prints and copy them if you need extras.
David.
That's interesting as I would prefer to do the exact opposite. If you have the 'original' digital file then you can keep it, back it up and use it for any purpose anytime you like (mugs, placemats, jigsaw puzzles etc etc :D) without losing any quality which is what would happen when making a copy of a print.

Thanks everyone
Yeti - do you remember how much you paid for the digital package of 10 photos?
-
Hi
I know that the onboard photographer is keen to take photographs and then sell printed copies but does anyone know if on Ventura it is possible to buy a digital copy of the photo rather than buying a printed version? Many theme parks both in the UK and USA offer this.
I remember that Islands of Adventure in Florida offered us a special offer of purchasing a memory stick and then being able to download official photos for a vastly reduced fee. This meant we could get them printed at home for cheaper and of course had a digital version for use online.
Thanks
Christmas decorations mid December?
in P&O Cruises ( UK )
Posted
Hi, we are booked on Britannia from 10th - 17th December 2016 in the Caribbean. Does anyone know if the ship will have Christmas decorations during this cruise or is it too early? Last time I was on a cruise at Christmas was December 1999 and we joined the ship on about 16th December and the decorations were already there.
Thanks
Brendan
