Does any one know how to switch to refundable deposit when your trying to book a cruise on the royal site? It automatically shows you the nonrefundable price
TIA
Chris

Called back ... it has to do with the nonrefundible thing I got it straightened out ... one rep tells you "nope sorry cant do anything" and another rep is like "let's see what we can do" ... was able to get $350 obc though which make me happy
-
So on my last cruise I book another cruise for next year and I received a reduced deposit and that amount as obc...when I booked I wasn't sure if that sailing would work. So I asked that if in the future if I had to change the sailing would I be able to transfer the obc to the new cruise and the gentleman at next cruise verified that I would be able to transfer the obc and that my reduced deposit would be accepted for the new sailing ..... called today and they are saying if I change my sail date I will loose my obc and will have to pay the difference in the deposit ... has anyone dealt with this before?

I got one in march .... it was offered like day 5 on a 12 day cruise.... it was 89 plus tax and tip for 10 drinks ( beer, mixed, frozen and wines under a certain amount)... it came to like 109... I don't drink much but when I do I get the frozen drinks and they run around $12 to $13.... so I saved around $10 - $15.... the card lasted me 5 days ... I'd say it's only worth it if you get the higher priced frozen or mixed drinks

Getting back on topic . . .
You said you have been on this ship 3 times. Are you repeating a previous itinerary? Do you want a cruise that focuses on the ship or its destinations?
Personally, I enjoy long cruises, but my primary interest are the ports of call. What have you decided?
This will be our 3rd cruise ... 2 out of the 5 ports will be new to us ... I'm thinking we will stick with grandeur..
Thank you all for your replies

If the price is same and you've never been on Anthem I would say yes for new experience.

Anthem is slightly more

I'm really having trouble making up my mind and would like some opinions.
I currently have my 3rd cruise on the Grandeur booked...March 2018 9 night southeast coast and bahamas 5 ports ... I am debating switching it to anthem bahamas cruise ... March 2018 7 night 3 ports... so the question is ..... is anthem worth loosing 2 days and 2 ports?

Just a side note, traveling to the NV today and almost in Miami we passed a lifeboat from Grandeur south bound on a wide load trailer???
A couple of weeks a lifeboat fell off while docked in Charleston ... I just got off her today and I can confirm that the lifeboat at muster station 5 is missing ...

After doing a little search December 13th is national cocoa day, ice cream day, violin day, and last but not least pick a pathologist pal day.... makes total sense to me

Is it an easy and safe walk?
-
the new beach facility open on the vigie beach right opposite the GFL airport is great for cruiseship passengers wanting to spend the day at the beach, within 3minutes from the port is ideal for you and your family etc bathroom and shower facility available.
Can you walk to vigie beach from the cruise Port?

Anyone else on this sailing? 100 days till this much needed vacation.
-
Yes ... granduer has a steam room and a dry sauna...both free and located in the locker room...no steam "shower" ... just regular shower stalls
-
Reason I ask is we are looking for a beach with little amount of waves...close to port...may want to snorkel...must have chair rentals and restroom access...deep bay looked like it had calm water and interesting snorkeling
-
;) does anyone know if there is a bar or restaurant that have chairs rentals and Restrooms at deep bay beach??
-
Following...I'll be there in March...also looking for a beach with facilities

The youngest Radiance class ship will be 18 years old by the time Icon 1 comes out. Other than Majesty and Empress, which seem to be one offs for special sailings, RCI doesn't usually keep anything over 20 years old. That is changing a bit with Grandeur (will be oldest ship (20) after Legend is sold, other than above) but I don't see any Vision class in the fleet by the time of Icon 1.
They are signed with the port of Baltimore to have the Grandeur home port there till 2020...and then who knows what will happen with grandeur or the port of baltimore
-
I hope not. That would mean no more RC out of Tampa unless the Skyway was rebuilt...ie not going to happen.
Baltimore too...unless they make ships longer and wider instead if taller
-
Holiday inn express at the stadiums...they have a stay and cruise deal .... nice hotel....easy to get to... secured parking for the length of the cruise and shuttle back and forth....
-
Don't miss the arial shows in the centrum .... very cool...above the Windjammer the is a deck that over looks the front of the ship ... makes for a good view... any specific questions ... I can answer ... we are most likely going on her again in march 2017 to the southern Caribbean
-
Its a short dry dock ... 4-24-17 to 5-15-17... not sure what they are doing...can't be anything big
-
In January a White russian was 11 somthing after tip:eek:

Heard today from a friend that he and a group of 50 Gay men from the local Baltimore area will be on this cruise so the Friends of Dorothy get together should be well attended.
Wow ... if they are a charter... I wonder if we can sneak into their private activities? Lol any idea of type of group it is?
