  1. Last time i sailed on the GEM they served LOBSTER on the first night we sailed out of NYC wondering if they still do it on the first night  After the sail away party we were to full to enjoy it, hope someone can answer my question, we are sailing on Nov. 13, 2015

  2. We paid for it when we sailed on the GEM last time and the food was very good! only problem was the waiter was bringing out the food to fast, but that was our fault since he knew we wanted to go to the next show. other then that i thought it was well worth the money:cool:

  3. It's up to you of what and how you do your cruise, don't believe anything you read until you see it for yourself, if you go on at the very start with it in your head that the trip is going to be a nightmare then that's what it will be, enjoy every minute of it, I LOVE THE GEM as you can see how many times i have been on her:cool:

  4. We were on the Gem for Easter a few years back and they had Easter candy on tables in the resturants and buffet, i do not remember if they had an egg hunt but we had 3 cabins and i taped all 3 doors in the hall with lollipops for "kids" to help themselves.

  5. Sailing on the GEM on Nov. 13, 2015, this will be my 4th trip in a row on the Gem so something must be right ;), just wondering if there are any changes besides the end of the "BLUE LAGOON", i did love our late night snacks there. What took its place and what do they serve? Also has the shows changed since 2013? Hope to hear from fellow cruisers who will be on this sailing.

  6. :)My wife Joyce and i were on this ship for our honeymoon on September 13, 1981, we met alot of fun people but two couples that were also on their honeymoon we sat with in the dining room and from the first night we became best friends for the entire week, where ever we went we went together, i remember one guy worked for an insurance company, i think state farm, i would love to get in touch with them both. We said we would get together again for a cruise for our 25th but that never happened. If anyone sailed on that cruise ship that week and remembers my wife and i, Sal and Joyce from New Jersey send me an email at csraj81@aol.com

After 31 years i now have 5 son's and 3 grandchildren along with two wonderful daughter-in-laws so life is good!

  7. :) Being a silver latitude member i also got 15% off the price of the photos along with the deal, as i said they held my pictures in a folder all week and i paid on Saturday, there were about 10 of the 6x8 pictures the 8x10 of us getting on the ship in the leather folder which was an extra charge and no 15% off the latitude, along with 2 8x10 pictures of the ship all for a total of $103.00.

They held all the pictures, even the doubles and triples they took of the same pose and i just picked out the ones i liked when i was ready.;)

  8. Just got off the NCL GEM this past Sunday, the photo takers were the best people i ever came accross on all my cruises, they held all my pictures in a folder for the week and on Saturday i went down and they gave me one price for all that i had, it was a great deal. :)
