  1. I took 2 maps with me: this one from National Geographic, and the one that is bound into this book. Both of them had lights marked, though obviously not in as much detail as a navigational chart, and if I compared them to the ship position display on the TV (channel 22) I could usually get a good idea of what light we were passing. They aren't picturesque lighthouses like you'd see on the East coast or Great Lakes, though.

    More great info! Thank you!

  2. If you have time in Seattle pre-cruise, there are several lighthouses within 50 miles of Seattle, including Alki and West Point which are right in Seattle.

Google ' lighthouses in british Columbia' or 'lighthouses in Washington' for information

You might want to purchase Joe Uptons book 'The Alaska Cruise Handbook; A Mile by Mile Guide".

Thanks much! I do plan to see many by land, but was interested to see them from the sea as well. I actually looked at that book earlier today! Great info.

  3. Right As you leave Seattle off the port side is Alki point light house about 2 miles away, 10 miles north of Seattle on the port side will be Point no Point LH, about 6 miles past that on the starboard side will be Admiralty head LH, after making the left turn into the straits on the port side will be New Dungeness LH it's at the end of a long sand spit, and at the end of the straits on the port side is Cape Flattery LH on Tatoosh Island but it will be dark when you get to that point most likely. Now most of these will require binoculars to get really good look at them, P-N-P will be the closest you pass by. Hope this helps.

Many thanks for this info! Plan to see many on land but also wanted to know which ones we will be passing!

  4. Hello everyone!

I have been searching for information on what lighthouses we might pass on our way out of Seattle/Pugent Sound and into Alaska along the Glacier Bay route. I am coming up empty! I even called NCL and they had no clue! So, if anyone else is a lighthouse fan and can identity which ones we may see on our trip, I would be most appreciative.

Reposted from NCL Pearl thread. Thanks!
