Quick question for those been on the BA... I am going to bring a power strip. It has a three prong plug. Are the power outlets in the cabin three-prong inputs or just two (so I know whether to bring an adapter too) ...

Think about it. If the Phantom locks on a GPS position, once it's in the air and hovers, it will travel backwards relative to you as the ship is moving. Then, if a failsafe occurs, and it returns automatically back to GPS Home lock, it will be somewhere in the sea way back ... :) adios drone!
Edit: GPS/ATTI mode would be better probably...

Flying a Phantom (drone) on board a ship is one of the dumbest things to do in the history of dumb things...
I have one and I would never consider doing this. Too much room for error and injury plus there is no GPS home lock (moving ship remember?) for the phantom to use for failsafe landings.

Hi all
Question. Can a party of four check in separately?
My brother-in-law and his family are in one party. His plan is to drop off his family with all the suitcases at the pier drop-off. They, in turn, check in while he drives back and picks up me and my party (separate booking).
Can he check in individually - or does the entire party have to check in at once? This is for an upcoming trip on the Breakaway.

I guess I should chime in.
I hate the idea of forced gratuity. Yet, I am perfectly content with giving tips when service is good. I remember I wanted to have a beer with my meal on one of past cruises. Server that was going around came up to me, I ordered, she continued to go around asking people what they want. Um... how about you go get my drink first? Anyway, 10 minutes later, she finally shows up, when I am finishing up my meal. And there's 15% added for "exceptional service". Yeah, I paid it, only because I did not want to make a fuss out of it.
Knowing 100% that you will get a tip no matter what, removes the need to perform better. You can do bare minimum, and still get tipped like hardest working person on the ship. So what's the point of overworking yourself?
Also, kind of reminds me of this rooftop bar I went to in NYC. I asked for long island ice tea. Bartender takes his time to chat with some hot girl, then finally gets around to making me a drink. It comes in a flimsy plastic cup and he's telling me that it will be $18. I give him $20. He gives me dirty look, and says "Sir, the $18 does not include tip" expecting more. If you want more, maybe you should put some effort into serving your customer, instead of chatting up some girl at the bar.
Going back to cruise tipping, I think common "Tip for great service" should be there, with a tip guide printed on receipt; instead of forced gratuity. It will encourage staff to work better, and be properly rewarded for their work. And it will give people an option to tip more, if service was outstanding.

Couple of facts for you.
- Popping your beer is not all the bartender does.
- Tipping is not unheard of in the UK.
- As for Rome, tipping is not out of the realm of possibility there, either.
Please do not refer to American workers as professional beggars, and I won't refer to Brits as all having terrible teeth. Deal?
Sure, the bartender may do more depending on the drink - but that is it! He does his job. The drink may end up being more expensive. Therefore your point is mute.
Yipping is optional (I repeat, Optional and used sparingly for exemplary service mostly overseas - not a coercive 'mandatory' suggestion here - hence the 'professional and accepted begging culture' that is now mainstream.
I dont care a rodent's rear end what you require I think of Americans or teeth of Brits for I am neither...
Regardless, lets agree to cease this line of posts as the last thing one needs is another tipping thread. Its tiresome and never resolved amicably.

Yeah.. I hate tipping on drinks when all the guy does it pop the cap on the beer and pour. But hey, when in Rome .... The professional begging etiquette is so American and we have to live with it. An irritating thought that one discards when one is on board and enjoying oneself ;)

New dinner menu in the MDR? Cool. Love to know what is different. I sail in a few weeks on the BA and am somewhat a foodie so a good change/upgrade to the menus are indeed welcomed.

If you can get daily MDR menus, that would be great too. Just trying to decide which one evening we want to do a Specialty restaurant since we have a free meal at one of them ...
