  1. Since we will be without a car, taking private shuttle from airport to Gallery One hotel.....what is within walking distance for us to do. We will be arriving around 2:00 Saturday and sail Sunday. 2 adults 2 teens.

Stores or restaurants or beaches......we know about the mall already.

  2. Not hating here, but what reputable source wrote/said the price of the cruise is going up? JH said the price would not be increased, Carnival said the same, and MANY posters who have been watching the prices over weeks/months have reported no price increase since yesterday's announcment. My cruise is higher than the Fantasy cruise offering STYX a couple weeks before we cruise, and we don't even have a concert for ours, but the price has been steady since October. All this fuss about upcharging the cruise fare is rumor and speculation.

just speculation based on previous ones I have looked at.....Dave Mathews and such for example.....much much higher. I don't think they will do this now....but I do believe they will not be discounted and have sales on these cruises like we have seen on the same ships before. Will have to wait and see. Sure hope that isn't the case.

I think its a great idea, if I don't get charged more from what I have before and especially if I am not interested in the Artist or buying tickets for the show.

  3. interesting.....would have preferred Lido deck bands or better bands in areas like the bar areas....but this might be a nightmare on concert night for seating. I do like the idea of being in port longer.....but not liking that the price of the cruise may be higher for everyone because it is a concert cruise.....and then on top of it have to buy a ticket....or pay a higher price to cruise because there is entertainment but not going to the concert. I think it would be ok if they leave the price of the cruises alone and make their extra $$$ on the sale of the concert tickets.

    Like I said Interesting !!!

  4. that's great....you got a very nice deal. I am guessing that they have a block of rooms to sell, kind of like seats on a plane and when those are gone at the special nets that's it. Unless they come nearer to date and are still avail.

I just prefer knowing that we have the room and that we won't have to sleep on the beach.... :)

  5. I called....right now a room at that price is not avail. ( even though site says it is )

They would have to check and see if they can reserve it.....we pay and then find out in a few days IF it is avail. I never like dealing with IF's like that.

So I better stay with what I have being that it is Spring Break week and I at least I know I have a room right now.

  6. We are staying at the Double Tree Gallery One in March for a pre-cruise on Carnival Freedom. They do not offer shuttle to the port so we will have to take a cab....any idea of cost?

Also is there family restaurants close by, we are traveling with 2 teenagers....fancy restaurants are out of the question for these "CHICKEN FINGER" and cheeseburger kids?

Also want to walk to the beach or maybe a trolley there if possible.

  7. We are staying at the Gallery One and see that the Trolley is an option to use. Does it go to the beach and is it a long time between them coming around again?

Also want to just ride it to see the sites.....

Anyone have any info that has used it?

    Thank you

  8. no restrictions. Grandson broke his arm a week before we went a couple years ago. Except for him being very disappointed that he had to cancel the ZIP line in Jamaica, he was fine. We bought him an inflatable cover on the internet and had it shipped overnight and he was able to still go in the ocean.....only could wear it like an hour at a time because it was tight....but worked out fine.

  9. sounds very nice.....currently we are booked at Gallery.....but since we are paying HUGE bucks....because of Spring break week, I thought maybe nearer to beach would be better. One night for almost $300 is going to have to be entertainment enough....lol

we will be site seeing for sure. They will get a lot of beach time on the cruise so maybe we will stay where we are.

  10. thank you

This is our 9th Carnival cruise but first on Freedom.

We ended up with a $259.00 rate but it's spring break, so figured it would be expensive.

Looks like a nice hotel....was just wondering if the kids wanted to be closer to the beach....but I guess they will get enough beach time on the cruise.

    thanks for the reply

Do you have any idea what the water taxi cost is and where it goes?
