  1. Surely this a joke. I have to contact Celebrity Executuve offices for a THIRD time today due to more pricing issues showing on my account.  They allegedly corrected them in December and sent me a revised confirmation. Now when I log in they are showing my fare at full price for my November sailing, no promised on board credit, and they moved my confirmed dinner seating from 6pm to 8:30 pm!  I’ve about had it and ready to tell them to stick it!

  2. Hello, First time MSC cruiser here.  We are considering a cruise to Bermuda on the Meraviglia in 2025 staying in Yacht Club. What floor would you suggest for cabin choice?  Looking for somewhere on the quiet side …, thank you!!

  3. In November, I had to change sail date from April 2024 to November 2024 that I booked in January 2023 due to fact I was having open heart surgery and would not be cleared to travel in April.  At time of rebooking, cruise was not yet paid in full and  I had promo with all inclusive when originally booked.  They did not honor pricing and perks with change of date and took away our onboard credit and paid gratuities. While I was OK with that, they also did not honor the pricing in my new confirmation issued at time of rebooking. When I logged into my Celebrity account a few weeks later, it was $1100 higher than my confirmation!  I wrote to Executive office to complain, and a representative called me back and said the Celebrity TA quoted the price wrong at the time of the rebooking and threw me $200 onboard credit as ‘goodwill’ gesture. If it werent for fact we are traveling with others and we’d loose our $500 deposit, I would have cancelled.

@CMW5060 If this is truly the case and I have no reason to doubt it I would email the executive office and ask them to investigate, send them the copy of the invoice you were provided and ask them to listen to the recorded call and that you expect them to honor the deal made on the phone and confirmed to you in writing.

Of course when you rebook you get the prevailing rate and promo and the original promo is dropped.  But a rebooking fee?  Never heard of such a thing.

  5. I will be sailing with a new line in future. This is the 2nd time I’ve received a booking confirmation on two different sailings from Celebrity after booking and then rebooking  with them direct, only to go into my online account and finding it $700-$800 more.  When I called the excuse is well they made a mistake and the promo is no longer available from our original booking… but you quoted me X at the time of rebooking and I know the promos changed because we discussed it changed, and I know I have to pay a rebooking fee and we reconfirmed the  new price at time of rebooking and you sent me confirmation with the new price quoted at time of rebooking, but now its magically shows $800 more on my Celebrity account???  WTH???

  6. Enjoying reading about your travels!  Desy was our waitress on the Summit when we took a short 4-day cruise out of Miami to the Bahamas in October 2021. Cruising was just coming back and we only had 335 people on board with a full crew! It felt like a private yacht and something we’ll probably never experience again. Everyone was beyond wonderful, but she was outstanding and made that cruise even more memorable!  Thanks for sharing your adventures!!

We are booked on the Solstice in March 2023, traveling the west coast. We have 1672, aqua class on deck 11, aft. Anyone have any direct knowledge of that cabin's overhead coverage? From reading here, it sounds like certain times of the day we'll be fine for sitting out there enjoying the views without baking in the sun. Very excited to be doing aqua class for the first time.

    Thanks!

We just returned from Alaska and were in 1670. It was nice having the Sunset Veranda. It was pretty open from above by the rail but closer to sliding door seemed more covered. I enjoyed an afternoon relaxing. Depending on where sun is located during the day, it can get toasty. The views were lovely!

The Ovation OTS and Celebrity's Solstice are both at Pier 91 on Fridays, going and when returning.  It was a cluster.  I have never had such a chaotic experience at a port.

And it is true about the luggage missing on our cruise that departed on July 15th.  We spoke with a lady that had a missing suitcase...found on the Ovation.   She had only one suitcase missing from their party of 5.   All the suitcases were together and properly tagged.

It was returned to her at our first stop, as that was also the Ovations first port.   They gave her a 200.00 voucher to spend on the ship for clothes etc.  They also gave her a little gift box with toothpaste, brush, deodorant, t-shirt etc.

We were on same cruise departing 7/15 and concur that it was a cluster at the pier. People in a rush to board, just dumping and running. I saw many people just attaching tags at last minute. I can see how things can get confusing.  Take a minute and confirm with porters you are on the Celebrity side before handing over … no need to rush at 11:30 am - the ship isn’t leaving without you!

  9. Leaving on Summit Saturday and just got email from CVS stating they cancelled our Covid test for Thursday! Immediately called and was able to get in at another local CVS. The location we were originally scheduled at  is now temporarily closed according to website. Part of me wants to order the home test thru Cekebrity as a backup, but not sure we have enough time?

Just a quick update: for those of you still planning your first cruise back, I strongly recommend taking time to go to the Sunset Bar after sail away and just sit for a while and watch the beautiful wake and the land shrinking behind you.  It’s always been a powerful experience for me, but it’s even more emotional today.

    See you Monday, America!

We're also on this same trip and I've been wondering how things will play out.  As of now, I believe they are doing ship sponsored excursions only, and by requiring proof of vaccination the ship can still dock, but if things get shut down even more I don't see any option but to cancel.  Since Nassau is the only port of call for this 3 day trip I don't believe there is another foreign port to call upon to meet the PVSA since it is such a short cruise.  I'm sure there is someone else more knowledgeable than me regarding this so it will be interesting to hear the speculation.

I also read that we’d have to apply for some sort of Bahamian Travel Heath Visa attesting that we are fully vaccinated if you were going ashore. I want to say it’s like $60?? Not worth it for a few hour tour!  We tried to do this same trip last April, then Covid hit and it was cancelled. Hence the FCC we had hanging out there. Oh well, guess we’ll have to see what happens.  If it goes foward, meet y’all at the Sunset Bar for cocktails!! 😊

  12. We had a small FC credit that we had to use and put toward a 10/23 3-day quick get-away weekend cruise on Summit to Nassau. The original plan was to go to Atlantis for a couple hours, but otherwise just enjoy the cruise and chill on our veranda with a couple glasses of wine watching the sunset. While it’s still about 60 days away and things can change and (maybe) improve, I suspect the cruise may just be cancelled. However, would be nice if they just offer an alternate port for that one day where you could possibly get off like Key West. Guess we’ll just wait and see.

They are not suing for the epidemic itself they are suing for the way the cruise line mishandled it once they found out what was happening. That's called gross negligence. From what I've read over the last few months, by reading about it on the forum plus the ones of the other lines, it's a slam dunk for the plantiffs.

Never a slam dunk for either side. It will be played out by both sides for years. Even if the class actions start. The fine print in the contract will be hashed and rehashed in court.
