  1. I am so glad that you shared info about Lazaro. We figured that he would have to be awesome since he's affiliated with Gerry, but it's great to hear from others. We were really bummed when we found that Gerry was already booked, but now we're looking forward to spending our day with Lazaro next August.

  2. We have learned that Gerry is not available, but Mike sent me an email saying that Gerry's co..??? (I don't remember co-what) named Lazaro was. Mike said that he had heard great reviews about him as well, but a search on the board only listed an unanswered question of someone else asking about Lazaro. So, does anyone have the scoop on Lazaro? I would like to hear from some of you before I book my family with him. Thanks.

  3. Thanks for the bump Cracker Ken. I have read every one of your posts since this entire thread started...and I STILL haven't picked a hotel. It's getting down to the wire now. I need one on AUgust 27. I rally wanted the Waterside Marriott, but I didn't want to pay for the balcony if I couldn't be guaranteed the view of the port...soooooYikes! You gave us so much info and SO many possibiliies that I just can't decide! You have been an awesome source...and this lurker simply wanted to thank you for all of the tips about the "not-so-desirable" parts of town.

  4. I sailed in an inside cabin on the Mardi Gras for my first cruise too! We sailed from Fort Lauderdale ona short 4 day cruise, and then spent three nights at Epcot/Disney World. We "splurged" by getting an inside with two lowers instead of the upper/lower combo, but found the bathroom laughable. I remember that when I sat on the toilet the bathroom door was against my knees. It was at an angle. We spent so little time in the room. My only complaint was the tiny bathroom. My how times have changed. (I never realized that other ships had TV's in the cabin.) Now we always book balconies. I too loved the wooden decks. She seemed so large when we stood on the pier in front of her!
