We just booked a 10-day on NCL's Jade that leaves from Miami, stops in:

San Juan

Barbados

Dominica

St. Thomas

Martinique

St. Maarten

We're super excited to visit these ports (have been to St. T and St M but love them)

We sailed Anthem in March and it was fabulous. You chose right!

Yeah, that's where we're struggling :)

Gem didn't have any bells and whistles, and my son had a blast anyway. Found a gang of kids to hang out with, and they mostly swam, played ping-pong, giant chess, basketball, etc. We've done the ports that the Bliss sailing is offering, so that's another reason not to go on that ship, but I am so tempted with all the cool activities onboard (although having to pay for them does not thrill me at all LOL).

Would love to hear from people who have sailed Jade since the refurbish. So few threads about it...

Looking at March 2019 sailings out of Miami, as those are the dates that work. Have a 13-yr-old son. We've sailed Gem (loved it) out of NYC, plus several Royal Carib ships (Anthem, Oasis, Liberty), which we also enjoyed. We really like the idea of 10 nights and lots of ports in S. Carib where we've never sailed, but worried there's not much to do on the Jade, especially for our son -- reviews seem kind of unenthusiastic. Bliss has all the bells and whistles, but is only 7 nights, so Jade seems like the better value.

Thoughts?

Does anyone know if the kids get to do things like Bumper cars, circus and roller skating with the Adventure Ocean as a group? Wasn't sure if they get a special time slot to use them if they are signed into the club. Thanks

We just got off today. My son is 12, and so was considered a teen. They had lots of reserved bumper cars, rollerskating, flowrider & rock climbing sessions just for them. We also did bumper cars at noon as soon as we boarded - best tip ever!!

Sundresses that roll up into nothing are perfect for the dining room. As others have said, a light cardigan or wrap is a must!

I downloaded the app to my iphone on HOS last week. I didn't pay anything and just thought I would use it to keep track of activities. Surprisingly, I was able to imessage my husband on board and my friends and family not on board. I kept it on airplane mode and the wifi was turned on to use the app. I was not able to text with my son or anyone else who did not have an Iphone. I had this same experience on Princess with their app but the imessage only worked when outside on deck. On HOS it worked everywhere.

So you never got charged? Hubby & i headed to Anthem next week, and we both downloaded it. Hope it works thst way for us too!

I understand this app works off 'ship wifi', & have read of passengers being able to text each other without buying the internet package. Is this true? How does it work?

In 2012, I asked my TA about this since my cabin mate was a newbie ((on Liberty of the Seas). She said it didn't qualify. Now I regret not looking into it myself...don't suppose they'd honor it retroactively, huh?
