Our favorite is what you have booked - lido balcony mid-ship.

To answer for him, one platinum perk that has been taken away is free slot tournament.
-
The last one for sure. Breeze is my fav ship and those are great ports!
-
I would go with Cruise 2. We love Breeze and Lido is our favorite deck.
-
Can you tell me exactly how to find it? I went to Carnival Cruise Line on FB. Thanks.
Search your ship name and date.

And you seriously think it's possible to wash the taste of shampoo out of a plastic bottle. That's... special.
Personally know ones that have. They sure would not have enjoyed soapy whiskey.

You missed when he said wash out.

There is a roll call on f-book if you go there you can ask.

Can you upload photos to Facebook/Instagram if you have the social plan?

I've been on the smallest and largest Carnival ships. My current favorite ship is Liberty! Loved so much about it - the lay out, shows, shops, and by far favorite pools!! I'm sure you will enjoy it.
-
I think you made a great choice. I have sailed on Carnival's smallest ship - smaller than any current even, and their newest, largest, Liberty is my current favorite, Enjoy!
-
Hey Paddy! Was on Fascination with you and they definitely had Tea Time. Hope you find it, enjoyable time.
-
I have gotten both upsells and upgrades but never more than one per sailing. Just my experience.
-
We LOVE Grand Turk - my favorite port. My husband likes a break from his shaded pool spot (haha) and we got a cabana last trip. It was very nice to have.
-
I have been on smaller and larger ships and i just LOVE Liberty. However I would choose Key West! Such a fun, easy port.
-
I haven't been on Elation yet but I have been on sister ships. I really liked Fascination (sister ship) but i absolutely love Liberty! I think you would like either and should not have problem with seasickness unless maybe if weather related.

It's too bad you didn't specify Carnival in your post. I can read between the lines to realize you didn't personally/specifically mean your very first cruise. I bet every cruise line represented by these comments has had cutbacks and it's these cutbacks to which you refer.
One thing I do is still dress formally on formal night, which Carnival now calls elegant. Many people do not even dress elegantly on said night. We dress up as we always have and enjoy it. We wish as many people still did as when we first cruised as it was just a totally different ambiance.
-
Anyone sailed in a 1a cabin on the Elation since the dry-dock? Just curious if they added mini fridges to these cabins?
I think the FAQs are wrong. I heard they added mini fridge and hair dryers to all cabins on Elation.

Nope, looks pretty much the same, same decorations for Christmas, same Lido deck buffet items, weather looks very similar, Blue Iguana and Redfrog bar areas look like a similar size and type of crowd, hey, we never checked out The Stage bar area, maybe we should do that next time we're on Liberty, same kinda crowd at Alchemy Bar - Holy Carp! That's my wife and me!
-
Haha That's great!

Haha That's great!

Good job! I always book myself (even Early Saver, wooooo). When I do need to call the 1-800 people I know what I'm asking for and they are very helpful.

I like the Caesar salad and cheese cake. On a side note, I'm actually looking forward to the new room service menu. It looks delicious.

These are my favorites too. Caesar salad, cheesecake and wine.

Like was mentioned, the ships your named usually do seven days plus. Take a look at Liberty, you can do a four day on her. I have been on Vista and Breeze. I love Breeze, but Liberty is my current favorite.

Jake, for one thing the passengers wanted to quit being treated like loyalty. I hear over and over "it's my vacation" I'll dress the way I want to etc. People wanted to make it their rules.

Hello, I have only cruised once before with Princess to Alaska, tbh was not that impressed with Princess cruise very disorganised and food a bit dissapointing in MDR not very hot and two hours to complete breakfast!
We have persuaded my in laws who have never cruised to join us on two Carnival cruises out of Longbeach a four night on the Inspiration followed by seven nights on the Splendor, my in laws are late sixties early seventies and felt that cruising would be too formal for them hence choosing Carnival, I am a little worried if Carnival will offer a nice cruise experience due to reading a few reviews stating that it is more of a cheap party experience. I have read a lot of reviews stating that Carnival is at the bottom of the cruise market and a lot less quality than Princess, however, on our Princess cruise we met fellow cruisers who stated that Carnival was better value and did not feel that Princess was as good? I would value opinions from others who have cruised other lines as well as Carnival as to the reality of what to expect from a Carnival cruise in comparison to other lines are they really so bad or in fact a good line? What keeps people coming back to Carnival?
I am hoping that my in laws first cruising experience will give them the cruising bug and we can book many more future cruises, I am hoping we have not made a mistake choosing Carnival as a first cruise experience
Well there you go. I imagine you'll get differing opinions here as well. To answer your question what keeps me coming back is fun, value and tremendous service quality.
