Both Carnival and Holland America in the past few years have been using a computer algorithm to set cabin pricing - supply and demand. As a result, for at least 3 years all cruises we've booked have gone up in price from what we paid booking 6-9 months out.
I hear folks say they see some price drops but we have not.
We were lucky. We have a cruise booked for April. Last week I upgraded to a better category on a higher level and saved a few dollars. Later in the week I got a price drop of $52pp.

I was just on Glory Sept 2nd, aft pool had signs posted that it was adults only
GLORY glory!

Carnival Liberty has three and four days out of Canaveral. Even though you love close by, to me a three day is not an option. You actually only have two full days on the ship. A four day short cruise works for me sometimes, but many won't consider it.
Personally, I would book an Early Saver as soon as you decide on which cruise. Then you will be able to check price drops/sales and get price adjustments. Booking early, you should be able to secure porthole cabins for interior prices.
I love Liberty, my current favorite ship.

Ah I figured it out - here you go
No they are not too formal at all.

JiJi's was amazing! I think I enjoyed the food there more than any other venue on Vista.
(We were on the Transatlantic and went to Steakhouse, Chef's Table, and JiJi's.)
I agree! We also did Steakhouse, Chefs table and JiJi's on Vista. We always love both the Steakhouse and Chef's Table but JiJi's was our favorite.

It is acceptable, yes. My hubby wears either a tux or suit still but many don't.

My current favorite is Liberty. Love the pools and the size. However, a big part of why I loved her was the shows and the live show band even as late as last January, but alas no more.

I think it's a very good deal. Enjoy!

Does Cheers cover the shots that are brought around in the MDR?
How about the upcharge tea bags for Tea Time?

Just got off the Valor as well, the 8/14-8/19 sailing. Loved our aft wrap # 6452, except for the guest next door blasting rap music and smoking weed. Adult pool was awesome. Regular lido pool was packed with kids, loud people and tons of babies. Sail away party was geared to some other age group/demographic than I am in. Steakhouse fantastic. MDR good ( we had YTD, but same waiter each time, Acer). Guys delicious. Cheers a good value. Casino....paid for the trip and more. I won a bunch, and I do mean a bunch, on the Asian babies slot machine. Ask the hosts, I was the screaming blonde lady on Weds night!
Adult pool? Valor has an adult pool? WooHoo!

I totally understand. Of course it's just circumstantial that Carnival is making the change right now, but you booked with certain understandings, and now it's changed.
That happened to me once. I booked a cruise with the understanding (from Carnival) that xxxx was SCHEDULED to be the piano bar player, xxxx was SCHEDULED to be the maitre'd , xxxx was SCHEDULED to be the CD, all of whom I was very excited about.
Like with you, before our sailing the maitre'd and CD were both changed. It's not a deal breaker, and not going to prevent a fun time but yes it's frustrating. Funny thing though, the replacement CD ended up being my very favorite to date. :) Good luck and have fun.

That would be awesome if you could bring back fun times and menus! I'm a planner as well. We're going on the Valor (but a 4 night one) in January for my son's birthday. So excited, it'll be my first ship with the 2.0 upgrades!
(leaving in 6 days on the Victory! yay!)
Jan 8? If so pop over to our roll call. :)

When I book airfare, the price I pay at the time of booking remains the price I have paid by the time I fly. If there is a fare drop, I can't call my airline and ask for credit.
Mine doesn't. I can. So thanks, I will keep checking both airfare and cruisefare daily and get reductions. If you don't want to, don't.

I am on the "major" page all. day. long. Haven't seen anything. I call foul on this post.

Strawberry cake pops on embarkation day.

We were directly across the hall once on Breeze. There was enough noise that we now book on the other side of the ship. People would be hanging out in the hall making noise.

My brother and his fiance met us in Athens and booked an inside cabin on Deck 10. They were in 10-295, and found it to be extremely noisy! Granted, they booked two days prior to sailing and were given a "guarantee" room. So they were at the mercy of the cruiseline...
!
Do you know where the noise was from? My daughter and SIL had that room on Breeze and didn't find it noisy.

But onboard credit and prepaid carnival cash can be used correct?
Thank you

Have you ever not liked your table mates??
Yep. Once out of 15 cruises. We love the MDR and never skip. The second night when my husband said to me, let's just eat at the buffet I knew what we needed to do. Spoke to the maitred and were moved that very night.
