With simply more being taken away next month, not sure what perks there will be?
-
We have done 33 oceania, but now cruise mostly on celebrity
an excellent line, no complaints for food, the best ever entertainment
great loyalty perks

Do you know who the GM is on your ship now
-
Did you read my reply as to why I think the CDAnd GM are important to know?
eileen

Why are the GM And CD important!
well they can make the cruise a much more pleasant ,fun experience
the staff on O get to know the passengers and they become “ friends” on your vacation
people love trivia and the CD makes or breaks it
this will be our 32 nd on oceania, mostly on the riviera, and we even know many of the staff, pool crew, waiters, they all come to greet you as returning guests
it just makes it so much more fun, “ like coming home” in a sense
i have know the barista for years and so look forward when he is on board
they anticipate your needs , chat all making a fun experience
since Covid, O prices have gone up, so we have been on Holland and celebrity lately
in September on Holland, we enjoyed the ship a lot, good food, great entertainment, but I never saw the CD excerpt to announce the theatres show, let alone any other staff
It’s not the same asO

Interesting topic. We have been dealing with Oceania bookings with our same TA for years. Perk was always a rebate cheque at cruise end. This past March we used our FCCs for a transatlantic on the Marina. When no rebate cheque was received I contacted our TA. Was told that because we used our FCCs in full for the cruise the TA did not receive any commission from Oceania thus we would not receive any rebate. We found this strange as pre covid we had paid in full and would assume that at some point our TA would have received a commission. Any similar experiences out there?

All interesting comments. Question. What are “Opaque” rates. Being from Canada with the exchange rate to US dollars being a 30 percent premium we are always looking for the most reasonable rate.

Comments above all interesting. Bottom line is that we are all paying $$$’s for all these “free” so called perks. For those of you who keep track of what you pay per person per day today versus what you paid pre covid for cruising you will be astonished how much more it is now costing on X as well as the other lines. In short X is to hiding it’s increase in fares by including the advertised perks.

Cruisestitch. Stay tuned for that memo also as Celebrity continues to tweak its business model so as to justify it’s increased pricing.

We are Elite Club Members. Loyalty use to mean special privileges such as free happy hour drinks, discounted internet charges etc.
We are now told that the reduced “cruise only” fares no longer exist.
What has happened to our years of loyalty Celebrity? It appears to now be worth nothing!

Lyn, yes, now I remember.
We leave Tuesday for 30 days on riviera.
Can't wait to get away from winter.

I have been on cruise critic since 2003 and have seen your name many times. Did not realize you are from GTA.
So are we!

Was in the regatta in November and a couple were kicked off the ship, half way thru the cruise.
The man was very drunk early in the day , by the pool, propositioning my friend, he fell down drunk, and was hauled off by the pool staff.
Several other drunken episodes had been recorded, so off the ship in Grenada
Another guy had a drone and flew it around the pool deck a few days, even though we saw security tell him it was against the rules.
He finally ended up crashing it into the staircase going above the pool deck.
Everyone at the pool clapped.
Oceania enforced their policies.!

We are on regatta right now, and yes- there was a man in Toscana wearing shorts, at dinner time. Nothing was said to him.
Also- there is a guy flying a drone around the pool deck
I don't think this should be allowed.
I will ask an officer , what the policy is on drones.

Thank you for your prompt response.
Our document says 1 pm, but wondered if they let us on earlier.
I notice several people , like yourself, mura, Stan and Jim always have all the answers.
Sounds like you all have inside information
Am I right?
We did meet Stan and Jim years ago on the the inaugural sailing of the riviera.
We were kindly invited to their fabulous suite for a lavish cocktail party.
The captain and his wife, Denise Eileen, were also there.

Inspect it well, the telephone and flat surfaces should be dust free, if they were cleaned a few hours before you entered. The staff is very quick to clean it to your standards.
Are you in aqua class?
We really enjoyed the food and ambiance.
Have fun. Our cruise on March 6 is a 14 day trip, to,Easter and southern Caribbean.
