Received an email today:"Dear Valued Guests and Travel Partners,We appreciate your patience while we continue to work...
Did anyone on the 1/3/18 sailing receive the email. We did not. Thanks!

Just received the email from NCL for my Dec. 12 Gem. They say it's going to be another week to rearrange the itinerary.
Did anyone on the 1/3/18 sailing receive the email. We did not. Thanks!

but "she could virtually guarantee it won't be Fla & the Bahamas."
I hope that is accurate. We're also on the 1/3 sailing and definitely don't want that itinerary.

We got the money belt and the travel wallet at REI. The money belt was great, too, as it was big enough to allow me to carry cash, our passports, and my iPhone comfortably.
Thanks so much!

I also purchased a niftylittle travel wallet that was basically a small zippered compartment that couldattach to a belt loop and hang in a front pocket. I kept a small amount of cashand my credit card in that wallet for easy access, and that system workedgreat.
Enjoying so far.
Where did you happen to get your wallet. I have a similar one (mine's velcro instead of zippered) which needs to be replaced after many European adventures and your's sounds like it's a good candidate.

I think a southern would with maybe eliminating 1 port instead of doing all 4. I would be in favor of that. Just really don't want to do Florida ports and Bahamas.
Ditto!

her Huskers just lost 38-17.
Oops, you already heard. Sorry!

our big concern is how are we going to keep track of the Nebraska vs. Wisconsin game tonight.
Wisconsin 38 Nebraska 17, Final -
While I am understanding, communication would be nice. If you send a mass email giving a date or your customer service email people indicate that an answer is by X date, a simple communication stating they are still working on securing docks/etc, is appropriate.
That action would be very nice and very considerate.

The old saying "no news is good news"
That's the theory I'm going with for our January Gem sailing. So long as our ports are planning on being open and no changes are being made, maybe our itinerary will actually stay intact.
-
I guess we have to just wait and see. I too do not want to go to Nassau or Port Canaveral. Keep our fingers crossed.
Same for me. I'm on your sailing.
Our final payment was made yesterday so we're now committed no matter where we go.

Yes, it will be on the bar's menu
Thanks!
-
Can it be ordered (under the UBP) in a MDR even if it's not on the MDR's menu?
-
Has anyone heard anything yet?? 2 weeks is up and still nothing!😖
Nothing about 1/3/18.

In reference to St Maarten:
https://www.thedailyherald.sx/islands/69678-first-cruise-ship-back-on-nov-11
Thanks for trying to help but that article doesn't have specifics about cruise lines adding the island back on itineraries.
It merely says that the port is to reopen to pleasure cruises on 11/11.
-
Celebrity have added St Thomas back to the itinerary for the Summit on the 28/10,
That's exciting to hear!
-
Other cruise lines are adding St. Thomas and St. Maarten back to their itineraries as early as mid- November.
Source please. Or at least more concrete info (Lines/Ships/Dates/ Itineraries/etc.) please.
-
Personally I will be greatly surprised if things will actually be ready for tourists by January. (I hope for the island's economy that they will be but there is still so much to do!)
Agreed but at least now there is a glimmer of hope that our January itinerary (minus Tortola) may be doable.
-
Thanks! Fingers crossed now for January!

Does HAL have better robes? The subject of this post is bathrobes. Just saying.
I can't yet answer that question (I look forward to comparing them in January). I can however say that we didn't have to ask for them on HAL, they were already in our balcony cabin.
-
That's true ... I'll have to remember that for people new to NCL from other lines. Thanks!
You're welcome!
-
Other than the difference in the beverage plan, and the gratuity you pay on it when you take it as a promo (which other lines have not yet implemented), the NCL fees and charges are pretty much the same as other mass market lines in its class.
Except that on other lines people can use their nonrefundable OBC towards their daily gratuities whereas NCL will not apply such OBC to the DSC.

This promotion is combinable with the Free at Sea promotion but it is not combinable with Latitudes Rewards promotions.
My parents who are also on our booking had to make the choice of keeping their Latitudes Rewards promotion ($100 OBC + double Latitudes rewards points) or adding the Balcony Bonus Week promotion ($140 for their MA Mini Suite on the Gem).
I just spoke with our TA and it turns out that the Latitudes Rewards promo ended up being combinable with the Balcony Bonus Week offer. My parents' reservation is showing $240 in non-refundable OBC instead of just the $140.

remembering my past passenger status gets us a bottle of fizz...thanks NCL!!
Thanks for mentioning this perk! Now I know to have my parents look for it in their cabin.
New Itinerary email.
