This cruise was in March 2019; it was great. The Zenith is being removed from service in 2020. Google-it for details; no replacement was mentioned in the article. Hope this helps.

Hi Victor, as you recall I was booked on it but the morning or the day we were planning to get to Miami for our flight to Madrid my husband had a stroke.  He recovered 100% after receiving TPA and having surgery to remove the clot. A blessing in disguise as it would have been much worse had we been on the plane.

Then I booked a similar cruise without Agadir as they had removed it from the itinerary for Feb 2020.

On Friday I received an email from my TA about their cancelation of most of the Zenith sails into April of 2020 and some being taken over by Horizon.

We are now booked for this November , come hell or high water we will be on this cruise!  God willing.

Glad to hear you  had a good cruise.

  5. Spain: Electronic Records and Submission for VAT

The Spanish Government has enacted Royal Decree 596/2016, which amends several VAT regulations related to invoicing, tax management and other audit procedures. The main purpose of this new regulation is to require taxpayers who file VAT returns on a monthly basis to electronically save and transmit to the Spanish tax authorities all information related to invoices issued or received, as well as customs and accounting documents related to VAT obligations.

This new taxpayer obligation should be accomplished via the ISI system and will be mandatory for businesses and professionals that are required to file VAT returns on a monthly basis. The obligation covers both regular and simplified invoices. The obligation is optional but not compulsory for businesses not filing monthly returns. The effective date of the implementation of the new system is July 1, 2017.

  6. I just paid off my cruise for March and I receive this very sketchy email from Pullmantur asking me for a tax identification number which I do not have as I do not have a company and I am thinking they want my social security number???

I replied to them asking what on earth this was as I have Never given out my SS# for a cruise.

Here is the email I received.

    Dear Sirs,

In order to fulfil with new tax obligations set by Royal Decree 596/296, December 2nd, we would appreciate you provide us with the following information:

    • Name and surname or company name

    • Tax Identification Number

    • Address

These data will be communicated to the tax authorities only for information purposes in order to fulfill with the regulation previously mentioned.

This new regulation will apply to all bookings departing 1st July 2017 onwards.

We would be grateful if you would send us the requested information, to the email cambiosoperativos@pullmantur.es

  7. I can answer #7 as I have booked a cruise to the Canary islands for March 2019.

You can book online, by phone or through the USA based agent Vacations To Go which also gives a discount to 55+ passengers.

Also if you book a JS suite with or without balcony you get the White Waves benefits which has perks including priority boarding and disembarking ( at ports)

hope this helps.. also check Tripadvisor for info

  8. Looks like this is a go for us. Looking forward to this cruise as it will be a special meeting of my 4th generation cousin in Tenerife.

First time on Pullmantur and will be in a JS without a balcony as I previously had booked it was much too far to the front.

Hoping to meet more English speaking cruisers ( for my husband) as I speak Spanish.

We will be staying in Las Palmas a couple of days after the cruise.

Anyone interested in joining any private tours ? I will be posting some tours as I usually like to organize those directly with the vendors.

    ili & bob

  9. Those of you who booked a cruise, did you go through Pullmantur directly or another agency like Vacations to go?

I am having very slow replies to my emails and no help in finding another cabin on the same ship without having to cancel and rebook and losing my deposit.

  10. I am booked in a Junior Suite on the Zenith for next month and have looked into what to expect regarding The Waves. To no surprise, I have found conflicting information:

Here is the link to the Pullmantur Website page: https://www.pullmantur.es/en/the-waves

I have also attached the page from the 2018 Pullmantur Cruises brochure (found on their website) regarding The Waves.

The one difference in White benefits that I will notice is the "Daily bottle of water delivered to the suite." Not on the website version but is shown on the brochure page.

The "Welcome bottle of sparkling wine" seems to be just a Black benefit.

Bottom line: If you don't receive something, just ask the Host in the Club.

Hope my efforts are of some value to you. Bon Voyage!

How was your cruise? And what cabin # did you have?

What cabin number was that? I am booked in 1006 on the Zenith and feel I would be feeling the ship rocking so far forward. It is for a canary island and Morocco cruise in March. Thanks for any information you can provide.

  12. Our first cruise ever was on the Pacific Dream which is now the Horizon, and it was a great experience notwithstanding that the Captain held the ship for several hours as our group was delayed getting to the port due to very bad weather where we live. Once we got to the ship we discovered that the suite we had expected was not available due to an incompetent travel agent that we booked through so we ended up in and outside cabin with an obstructed view. We later got some money back for the difference we had paid for the suite, and on board the ship we did end up with an unobstructed view eventually.

It was a great cruise even with the hassles, and don't be surprised if you have a few hassles too as Pullmantur can be painfully bureaucratic. Indeed on one cruise out of Valencia the purser was not going to let us on the ship because our passports did not have a stamp that showed when we entered the European Union. It was not our fault that Customs and Immigration in Paris were lazy the day we arrived.

I would suggest, however, that once you are on the ship you go to the reception area and ask if you can get an upgraded cabin, possibly an outside one. I have heard that this is often possible if you ask.

With the exception of our last cruise on the Zenith we have really enjoyed cruising with Pullmantur.

What happened on Zenith? That is the one I have booked.
