Having spent 8 days in quarantine I can emphasise. Be glad for a full window and fresh air.
Agree the room service food was luke warm at best
Good luck with your quarantine. I found that in these instances you need to remember to advocate for yourself.

We just boarded Odyssey this morning in Civitavecchia.Â
Covid tests yesterday morning at a pharmacy round the corner from our hotel. Cost was 20 euros each. The 10 minutes waiting to get the results back were horrible.
Boarding was a breeze. We had the first time slot and the cabins opened up not long after.
After a quick lunch in the windjammer we did the North Star and watched braver folks than us on the flow rider and ifly. The weather was not being terribly friendly.Â
Â
Â
Â
We left Civitavecchia 3 hours late, something to do with an issue regarding clearance.
Â
The MDR seemed very busy. We had my timing with a table booked for 8 pm but it seemed like they improvised rather than having a table allocated in advance. However our server was very attentive to our needs.
An interesting development on the menu is the appearance of a nightly pie and a curry dish. Those usually only show up on cruises with a large British contingent.Â
Â
Â
Wild mushroom soup
Â
Two Maryland style crab cakes as my mains just because I like them even though I've been told they're nothing like the real thing.Â
Â
Royal chocolate cake for dessert. One of my favourites. DH 's cheesecake and a shared scoop of vanilla ice cream in the background. 😋Â
Â
The show in the theatre after dinner was a singer called Mike McLean. He had a decent crowd and gave an enjoyable show.
Â
Â
Tomorrow is Naples, from 8 am till 6 pm.
Â
I'm just going to wind this post up by tagging a couple of folks who might be interested in following along.
Â
My joint blog buddy from Navigator @Rogueperson because he always remembers to tag me for his live reviews.
Â
And @BennyBrun because he's off to the Greek Isles in June and I might conceivably post something that would be of use to him.
Â
I'm happy to try and answer questions if anyone has any.
Â
Thanks for this. I am on the cruise after yours so look forward to seeing your experience.Â

Shore excursions were reimbursed as ship credit and then sent back to my credit card at the end of the cruise.
Â
Pro rata refund that they promise...less so...no words now almost 2 weeks laterÂ

I hope you continue to feel okay and manage to enjoy some time in England, post positive test.
Â
Their cruise ends tomorrow in Barcelona; they have been told they will not be disembarking until they clear Covid protocols. So, even though they didn't book a B2B, it appears they will be taking a very boring, partial B2B. Obviously, I have about a million questions for them, but spotty wi-fi and my parents lack of tech-ability, are conspiring to keep them unanswered. Â
Sorry to hear that, I hope they got off OK.
I was told I had the option to stay onboard or leave..I chose to leave after 8 days in isolation and taking my own (pre bought) test as negative as the ship was not going to test again just make me stay the full 10 days in isolation and then dump me somewhere. Even then I had to ring front desk and remind them I was leaving as I had to be separately disembarked, literally the last one off the ship.
Â
We're your parents given any details about refunds or any post cruise contacts. I was told shore side services would be in touch and crickets.. like not a word and my travel agent followed up and they were just told to wait for a response.Â
-
Definitely nothing like my experience 2 weeks ago on Constellation.
small room on deck 2, food in cardboard boxes, pretty much always turning up cold.
Â
Was told I would get a pro rata refund and shore services would be in contact to give me details and medical clearance letter. Nothing...crickets

Yes, it seems to me that the cabin has positive pressure relative to the hallway. If you open the slider, the air rushes through the cabin and if the cabin door is open it slams shut. There is a piece from the royalcaribbeanblog dot com that explains the air changes in cabins (12X per hour) and other internal spaces (15X per hour) all with fresh outside air. So it would be very hard for virus to build up infectious doses in this system. I would think that Celebrity ships use the same system as RCCL.
Â
Thanks for this it is interestingÂ

So an update from me.
Yesterday had my day 5 test which sadly was still positive. The way this was communicated was very hard and I was very upset about this. At this point I have no symptoms and all vitals are perfect.
After much conversation and more than a few tears they agreed to move me back to my old room. I remain unable to leave the room but being able to open the door and hear the water lapping is very calming for me.Â
Its not a thought that I took lightly, given that I am now post the CDC, spain and my own countries isolation periods and it was in the best interest of my health to have some true fresh air I moved and will remain in this rook for a further 76 hours.

I wonder how the passengers feel who can only afford inside or outside Oceanview cabins. Â Everyone says that staying in these cabins is inhumane. Â Â Will those staying in an inside room be upgraded to an Oceanview room if they are placed in isolation. Â I know you are in isolation but it is hardly jail.
It's a very different experience when you only in the room for sleeping and getting ready and able to freely enjoy the spaces than only being in the room 24/7 and not being able to leave or have any real decisions for your.
Â
Yes it is not jail but is isolating all the same. It takes a huge mental toll on you and I would not wish it on even the worst person I know.
Â
Thank you for your concern.

Sorry to hear about your situation, but I love the attitude. We are hoping to catch Constellation's westward TA in October--but not catch COVID, so I am reading with great interest.
Â
Sorry about the isolation and loneliness, too. It is not the same, but we are here for you to converse with.
Â
What part of Australia are you from?
Â
David
I am from SydneyÂ
Â
Definitely feels like a world away now.
Â
Pre Covid I was an avid traveller so being far away from home is normal...being locked up isn't lol

Wow you tested positive pretty quickly. I am wondering If you were a close contact but continued to test negative would you have been allowed to wander around the ship?
You allowed go stay upstairs as long as u test negative. However u must wear a mask when not in your cabin and eat all your meals in your cabin for 5 days. You would also get tested daily for 5 days.

Covid happens and I know it might happen to me, but this isolation on Deck 3 sounds worse than the illness itself. We bought the premium drink package. I wonder if they deliver cocktails? If so, I'd keep the staff hustling from the bar to my cell on 3.
They will bring you cocktails and alcohol just expect atleast like 40 mins for it to arrive, more on port days.
Same for food too.

Confused.
Â
The deck two cabins on the Constellation are used to quarantine crew, not passengers.
Â
We had booked a deck two cabin for our Constellation cruise and was moved to a balcony on Deck 6. We were told at check in that our cabin was taken to be used for crew quarantine.
Â
Passenger quarantine area was on a higher deck (deck 7?) and were balconies.
Â
Other posters on this forum have been given the same information.
Â
You state you are traveling alone and yet was identified as a close contact of someone who tested positive. Curious to know how you were tracked as a close contact.
I had been dancing and interacted with the contact. So yes I got it having a fun old time. But had been speaking with the person I was dancing with before hand and we had exchanged names and types of rooms.
Â
Deck 6 and 7 are definitely in use this cruise. Was told that no balcony cabins could be supported and these rooms gave the HVAC in place. These are the only isolation rooms in use. Attached is the view of the Dock on Seville

Hi All
Â
I wanted to share my experience so far.
I am on the Constellation and on my 4th full day of isolation.
On Day 7 I was identified as a close contact of a covid case and was initially tested and negative. I would have had to have been tested for the next 5 days. That night i developed a dry cough and that morning tested Covid positive.Â
I was then moved to Level 2 room with an ocean view for what it's worth.
I have not seen a person since then other than the daily nurse visit in full PPE (understandably), and only the regular calls from room service for my food orders and check in from the front desk.
I was in Aqua class and still have access to the Blu menu and drinks. The food comes in throw away boxes and pretty much has the texture and taste of cardboard. My taste buds are ok my symptoms have been limited and seemed to be only sneezing..tho am half certain now that I was sneezing due to the flowers on the room, as it stopped when I threw them out lol.
Finally have some ability to stream after being at sea.
Have been told there will be some refund or FCC but the amount seems small given pretty much 1/2 the trip is spent in a box.
I was travelling alone so while used to being on my own having no real conversations a day is hardÂ
They do try and look after your basic needs but not much thought is given to the mental aspect. There is a huge amount of work that can be done in this area.Â
I have made a routine for the day which includes making my bed, cleaning the room, some sort of movement to try differentiate the day from night. Even got dressed up to simulate formal night.
Â
Even tho this is the opposite to how I wanted to spend my time I would still cruise again... life is too short for what ifs.

I wanted to share my experience today in trying to use the celebrity approved Novica tests todayÂ
I received 3 tests and tried to use these for my cruise tommorow. However all 3 scanned in the app as already used or expired. With the customer service being unable to assist with what occurredÂ
I then had to run around pretty much all of NYC to find a testing place that could do my tests. Which thankfully I didÂ
Moral of the story have a back up for the tele health/supervised antigen test

I just got that email too.
Â
Having been to Bermuda at this time of year before it was still warm enough and the beaches warm enough for swimming.Â
Â
For me either way a break will be nice but am happy that they are putting our safety first and giving warning rather than just changing it mid trip or when we were on boars

That is so good to hear about the not being asked for 10's. I will be doing my second trio on anthem in 2 weeks and remember being constantly asked for 10's.

I traveled with U in April and there was a wide mix of ages. Everyone got really well across the age groups and different lifestyles.

So I was booked on an APT cruise from Amsterdam that was scheduled to leave on the 27th. Got a call literally just after I checked in for my flight that they have cancelled cruises for the next few weeks.Â
Â
So now I am scrambling to figure out what to do as I had precruise bookings with them that are also cancelled.
Just offering a refund. Nothing else as good will.Â
I had spoken to them last week and they had assured me that all would be ok cause APT look after you. Not so much seeing as I am now left with 18 days in Europe and now plans and also any plans have to be prepaid before their refund comes through.

Another Transatlantic covid story
in Celebrity Cruises
Posted
An update. It has now been 4 weeks and celebrity has not reached out to me around the promised refund and I have been advised they will only deal with my travel agent that has been given the same run around.
Â
I understand that they are a business but have now find there behaviour quite unethical even tho I did my best to make the experience a positive one.
Don't make promises you can't keep and they need to better educate their staff on protocols and how to deal with customersÂ
Â
In my case I caught covid from an undetected case of a celebrity staff member.
