  1. Planning on participating in the Chef's Table event on our Symphany of the Seas cruise. From our reading space is limited so my question is approximately how many months prior to the cruise will we see it listed on the Royal Carribean aps so we can reserve a seat?
  2. I hear you but we are 4 families (10 people) going on a cruise so dividing the cost 4 ways make it a little easier to take. In essence you are paying for comfort and convenience and the plan is to reserve a quoted price on a cruise a year away because if you know anything you can be assured the price will only increase with time. Worst case scenario you can always cancel at no cost to you.
  3. I agree I quoted both with the same results as your observation. Since I have had previous good experiences with Larry's Limo I proceeded with booking with them; now I have a quote with a locked in price.
  4. Sabrefan15 - I got a quote from both Larry's Limo and Jiffy Jeff both are in the ballpark of each other, the last time I used Larry I paid the driver after each time we were dropped off is that still true today ? Will they require a deposit say 30 days before the first pick up ?
  5. I'm researching ground transportation for a group of 10 people associated with a cruise out of Port Everglades. Nothing unique, transportation from FLL to hotel, next day transportation from hotel to the port and a week later transportation from the cruise port to the airport. In the past I have used Larry's Limo but from my research Jiffy Jeff seems to be in direct competition with Larry's Limo. I would like to hear comments/experiences you have had with either or both transportation services. Thank you in advance
  6. I am interested in your comments concerning the Hyatt Place Plantation in Fort Lauderdale. Is the property well kept up, walking distance to restaurants etc. Tnak you
  7. We have a family cruise booked on the Symphony of the Seas and our Granddaughters family is booked in a Crown Loft Suite. Since she will be bringing her 2 1/2 year old daughter on the cruise what kind of laundry service options will be available for her family during the cruise. This information will be helpful in determining how mush to pack for her daughter. Thank you in advance for any help and tips you have experienced during your cruise.
  8. The Royal Carribean site listed Botanist Gin
  9. You could pay the cost with an airline rewards credit card and use the airline points to offset some of the cost of the flight.
  10. Our RCCL Aps just posted today the cost for the Deluxe Beverage Package at $83.99 per guest per day. As stated in the Title we are sailing the week of March 31, 2024 on the Symphony of the Seas. Thought this will help those of you who are tracking this.
  11. For what it is worth last year we flew into Jacksonville rented an Alamo large SUV for one day and stayed the night at the Hyatt Place in Coco Beach. The next day (day of cruise) drove the last 15 or so miles to drop off rental at Port Canaveral. Alamo has free shuttle to the cruise port. Our return flight home was from MCO so we reserved Cortana for the transportation to the airport. This was a cost affective way for us since flights to Jacksonville cost less, hotels outside of the Orlando/Port Canaveral cost less and the rental car gave us flexibility to find places to eat sightsee and buy our two bottles of wine for cruise.
  12. This may be a frequently asked question so don't get too mad at me but is the Lavazza coffee machine in the Symphany of the Seas Crown Loft Suite capable of making Espresso Coffee?
  13. When we had our 50th wedding anniversary cruise the cruise line will normally consider 7 staterooms booked as a group and they would apply a discount to that group. You can set it up with your sales person give a name for the group and individual people who are interested can call in and reserve their room
  14. We have used Larry's Limo several times in the past. We already got a quote for our family cruise of 10 people. We have found that using them for the trip from the port to the airport for a group of people is the best way to reduce the traditional stress of getting to the airport to catch your flight. That is one less line to wait in, the driver will be on property waiting for our call telling him where to pick us up.
  15. 'm really not sure that this is true. I would triple check that. If you look at the Harr video review of the RLS, he specifically mentions that the CLS does not get Star benefits. So what rooms do you have? A royal, a star and two crowns? I've seen the Harr video but the room in question we booked for our daughter who contacted Royal Carribean to give them their crown and anchor number. During the conversation the RCCL sales rep told her their suite would also include the Star amenities. I have a royal suite 1744 and our daughter has the connecting suite 1742. As we get closer to sailing time we will check again.
  16. WOW sure getting a lot of good advice; you confirmed what we thought would happen meaning the crown loft guests will have to get the UDP. Of course, everyone in the family will have the beverage package so that won't be a problem. Concerning the beverage cart, at this point I am assuming it was a pre covid event which probably was not continued after covid. Concerning the Royal Loft suite, you are correct there is only one on deck 17 but the crown loft suite is an adjoining room to the Royal loft suite so if you book that room for a family member then they will receive the benefits of a Star Loft Suite (royal Genie, UDP etc.). From various post I have read I believe galley tours and backstage tours have started after covid. Keep the suggestions of how best to utilize the Genie coming. THANKS in advance.
  17. Well, the family has bitten the bullet for our family cruise (10 people). We have two crown loft suites and two Royal loft suites (first time) on deck 17 on the Symphony of the Seas with all suites being next to each other. That said we are on a learning curve as to the best way to optimize our cruise experience thus this posting. First Question: Star Loft has UDP so if we order dinner to be served in our room will there be an upcharge for the CLS people, or will it be considered as a dinner party for our guests? Second Question: We have read on previous posts that at 4:00 P.M. a bar cart will visit the Star Loft Suites. Is that still the case? What is the best way to utilize our Genie experience? We are all excited and any help would be appreciated.
  18. We are planning on staying at the Riverside for our family cruise and was thinking about having dinner at Louie Bossi's has anyone eaten there? What are your thoughts?
  19. Was wondering, if I have a lunch or dinner party on the balcony of my Royal Loft Suite off the Chops menu with family members who are in suite class will the family members not be required to pay for their meal?
  20. I know this subject has been posted in the past but for whatever reason I could not find it. With that said we are considering booking a crown loft suite on deck 17 on the symphony of the seas. This will be during Easter week and it will overlook the basketball court. I'm curious as to your experiences if you stayed in this room on past cruises. Yes, I realize at times it may be noisy but I'm trying to assess how often, how loud etc. Granted we won't be on the balcony all day long. Your input would be appreciated.
  21. I`d like to thank everyone for their input to my question; it was very helpful.
  22. Great conversation keep it up. I'm curious as to what is the seating capacity of the Coastal Kitchen? I'm betting on the specialty restaurants freeing up seats in the Coastal Kitchen.
  23. We have a family cruise reserved for Easter Week of 2024 on the Symphany of the Seas 2 Jr. Suites 1 Owner Suite and 1 Two Bedroom Grand Suite. I am assuming the ship will be at capacity. This being said how likely will the suite owners be able to make Dinner reservations in the Coastal Kitchen which will include the Jr. Suite family Members? We will plan on making reservations with the concierge first thing on arrival. We are talking about a table for 4 people and a table for 5 people. I'm assuming it might be for 3 dinner reservations for the total period of our cruise. My concern is will they honor our family Jr. Suite members when we arrive for our table. I have heard they will not split family members just wondering if this is true.
  24. We are planning a family cruise on the Symphony of the Seas for 2024. At the moment we have 4 suites reserved which are next to each other. Our plan is to open up all the balconies for easy access. We are talking about one Owner Suite, one two-bedroom Grand Suite, and two Junior Suites. Presuming everyone has the drink package, I was wondering if anyone on the boards has done something like this and what options are available? I'm assuming contacting the concierge would be the first step which would take care of the snacks/appetizers, but can a bartender and bar be set up be made in one of the rooms? Sorting out what options are there and drawing on the experiences of various cruise critic travelers who have done something similar in the past. THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR SUGGESTIONS
