  1. Thanks everyone.  I will either take the later one or spend the night and take the early one the next morning.  I’m spending 3 nights prior so was trying to avoid staying another night.  That’s all assuming we care cruising again in August!

  2. How recent was this? We were on the Infinity in May for the 11 night Pacific Coastal and we were presented with this offer.

We are hoping the same for our Infinity PC cruise later this month.

It was recently on the Sept 10th & 17th sailings.

  3. Someone that was recently on the Infinity told me they were able to upgrade the classic package, provided from the go big promotion, on the first day for both in the cabin for one upgrade charge. They said they were told it would be fleet wide. Has anyone else expierienced this?

  4. We were on the Oct 2 sailing. One of the best cruises we've ever done. Captain Kate was amazing and so was the crew. Our concierge cabin was in great condition. It looked like the hallway carpets were new. Our balcony was a little rusty when we boarded but it was painted while we were in port on day 2. I would not hesitate to sail Summit again.

  5. On the Celebrity website I found this PDF listing the differences between Premium and Classic packages: https://secure.celebritycruises.com/celebrity/media/celebrity/shared_assets/pdf/Classic-Premium-Bev-Pckgs.pdf

According to that PDF premium coffees are included in both packages, although it doesn't specify when a coffee is considered to be 'premium'. I have to assume they mean "coffee with alcohol". The only difference between the two packages with regards to "Non-alcoholic beverages" seems to be that the Premium Package includes Vitamin Water and Red Bull. As far as coffees and teas go, they should cover the same.

One side note, though... In the past I was able to order both Amaretto and Grand Marnier on the Classic Package. Amaretto is needed for an Italian coffee, Grand Marnier is used in French coffee. However, according to the PDF again Grand Marnier is no longer covered by the Classic Package. This could mean that they also removed French Coffee from that package. But it can also mean they now make the French coffee with Cointreau  (which is still covered by the Classic package).

This appears to be inaccurate too. We were recently on the Solstice with a friend that drinks Jameson. We thought it was premium but they said it was classic. We stopped at guest relations and picked up a bad copy of a list that we assumed would be current but that was different all together. I don't know why they can't have one correct list.

  6. We were there last year and you do not need a visa. The tours were allowed off first and we could not get off until 1:30 PM. Everything was delayed. The Russian authorities looked like they were in the KGB and dragged their feet. We were even 7 hours late leaving because they claimed they were missing passports that they actually had. You have to turn in your passport even if you don't leave the ship. It is a very unhospitible, unwelcoming place. No one makes eye contact or speaks English. We just wanted to say we had been there. We walked around town for a couple of hours the went back to the ship. We were going to do a tour but there we not many attractive options and they were very expensive. Everything and everyone looks like they were still in the Cold War. The cruise director even recommended to stay on the ship.

  7. Yes you can waitlist a specific cabin if you book direct or with a TA unless you are in a group. Group reservations cannot waitlist. That being said, it is an imperfect system and you can still not get a cabin, even if it's wait listed. If someone cancels it, that cabin will go back into inventory until that night when the waitlists are processed someone that sees it available in the meantime can grab it and it won't go to waitlist. If you do get notified a waitlist became available, you have 24hours to accept it. I found this out because I expierenced it first hand. I saw a cabin in inventory that I had wait listed.

  8. Galveston is always a mess. Will never use it again. Last time it cost us $100 for a taxi because we missed the transfer. As D+ we waited in priority and the diamond concierge who was supposed to take us off never came. Eric had a additude all week. By the time we got off, customs was backed up 2 hours. We barely made our flight. I called the D+ desk and complained. Made them refund the transfers which they did.
