Was it shown as two separate 7 and one 14 option ? If so did you see a difference in fare ?

I saw it advertised as a 14-day. This is what I booked. I'm sure it was also listed as separate 7-day cruises, but I didn't look at the fares back then

I just took a quick look at the 14-day departing on Nov. 28 from Ft. Lauderdale and for the balconies, it looks like you might save a dollar by booking them separately. Although in the area I looked, there were fewer cabins to choose from for the 14-day.

  2. I booked a 14-day Caribbean cruise out of Ft. Lauderdale in 2018 which turned out to be two 7-day cruises B2B.

I received 2 cruise credits, but my shareholder credit was $250 for a 14-day as opposed to getting $100 twice for two 7-day cruises.

We did have to exit the ship in Ft. Lauderdale between legs, but we kept the same cabin for both legs. So we just got off for about 30 minutes, then got back on.

I believe I would have gotten twice the wifi minutes for being platinum (150 twice rather than 250 total)  but on the second leg, they had just turned on the medallion wifi, so everyone on that leg got unlimited minutes

  3. The one time I was upgraded it was from a forward balcony to a midship cabin with a larger balcony. We accepted the change to get the larger balcony even though we prefer to be at the front being that we both enjoy the added up and down sea action. So we now tend to book one of the larger balconies at the front of the ship.

I was recently offered an upgrade to a midship balcony (same size) for an upcoming cruise, but I turned that down and my Princess cruise guy ended up getting me a reduced price for my existing cabin.

  4. Just took a look at a marine traffic site (https://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/home/centerx:-118.5/centery:33.7/zoom:7) which not only shows the Grand at Puerto Vallarta, but looking around I also spotted the Majestic at La Paz, The Ruby off the coast near the U.S./Mexico border and the Royal cruising North about halfway between Cabo and Ensenada with a destination listed as L.A.

And based on a post from another thread, the Caribbean is currently docked at Ft. Lauderdale

  5. I have taken this cruise once before and am booked again in November 2021 (fingers crossed)

As noted previously, there are more sea days than port days. Personally, I enjoy these, but some folks do not.

One suggestion for an excursion on Oahu, if you are a little adventurous, is the shark encounter. You take a van across the island to the North Shore. Then a short boat trip to a shark cage that is permanently anchored offshore. You then climb into the shark cage and get to see the sharks up close. If you can climb up and down a short ladder, this is not a strenuous activity, except that your heart may beat a little faster. But it is a very cool experience.

Here is a picture I took from the shark cage during our outing.

Understood, but I'm wondering if the filing which is the current topic of this thread is good news, then why is the stock still going down?  It's currently below $20 and still decreasing.  Norwegian stock isn't doing this.

I think you're really asking why the stock is not  going up. It's not really declining at this point. It has closed at or above $20 pretty much since Thanksgiving and hovering right near $20 for for all of January .

It may be good news for PAX, but the stock is still in decline.

Since hitting bottom at $7.80 in April, the stock has rebounded somewhat and has been hovering around $20 for the last few months. While this is still well below where it was prior to covid, it has been fairly stable of late.

  8. If you dislike smoke, you should avoid the Regal/Royal. Many people have noted the the small promenade area, which is also where smoking is allowed.

Also, the casino area (Fiesta Deck 6) has a spiral staircase in the middle which allows the smoke to rise up to the Promenade Deck 7, which my wife mentioned (i.e., complained about) every time we walked through.

Yeah totally, they are totally going to leave ANZ after already releasing itineraries and been cleared of an wrongdoing and Ruby Princess is not coming back so people will forget.

Looks like they still have Majestic and Pacific with a couple ANZ cruises scheduled in February and April 2021... Also looks like a number of them starting back up in the Fall

No one seems to even notice the misplaced apostrophe in "man's".  There should not be an apostrophe there! Of course, here on CC the misplaced apostrophe is endemic. Words such as "menus" are often typed as "menu's" for some bizarre reason Plural items do not have an apostrophe. Only possessive items have an apostrophe. Then there is using "then" when it should be "than". GAH!!!

Sorry, things like this make me crazy. It's really bad when I read the local newspaper. Apparently copy editing is a thing of the past. Typos, grammatical errors, use of completely wrong words. It's amazing. I guess it could be summed up using the modern "equivalent" (HAH!) of grammar: It is "teh suq" (No, that is not misspelled.)

The apostrophe in "man's" is correct.... It's possessive, not plural.

  11. I have not sailed on the Grand but have been on the Star and Golden...My last cruise was on the Royal.

As noted before, there is only a partial promenade deck and portions of this are designated for smoking.

The other thing I disliked about the Royal was the placement/design of the casino area. The casino has an open ceiling area with a staircase up to the next deck. The problem with this is that it allows the cigarette smoke to waft up to the next (promenade) deck. People who are  sensitive to/annoyed by smoke will find this to be irritating.

I can. The lack of a Promenade Deck that you can walk around the ship. It's especially noticeable when trying to get past Princess Live if people are waiting to get in. Princess Live is another disaster of an area--very uncomfortable for most events that are held there, although I did appreciate the ability to watch the game shows later on TV.

I was on the Royal in February, which I believe is the same layout as the Royal, and I also disliked the spiral staircase from the casino up to the promenade deck which the tobacco odors to waft up to another deck.

  14. Just returned from two weeks on the Caribbean Princess... I did not have a medallion so the panel by my door said, "Ocean Medallion Coming Soon!" However there were other cabins on my deck (Caribe) where the panel said, "Approach with Medallion for entry"

We had dinner one night with a woman who (in retrospect) avoided talking about her employment, but near the end of the meal, the subject of the medallions came up and she showed us that she had one. She also disclosed at that point that she was a Princess employee working in the medallion department. Being across the table from her, I could not catch all of the conversation, but she did mention something about a scheduled rollout starting on September 18

  15. Did you book online or talk directly to a Princess rep? I talked with someone on a recent cruise who booked a room based on location and found out it was a handicap room. They were told that they might be bumped if a handicapped traveler needed the room. It's possible that this might not be obvious if you book online. So I would suggest you talk to a Princess rep, they may be able to find you something
