The pool (there are two small plunge pools too) is great for doing lengths and exercising as it's quite long for a cruise ship pool, but often there were groups of youngsters having fun with balls in the pool. Just have to swim around them and hope you don't get hit by the ball.

I guess early morning would be a good time if you wanted to do lengths in peace.

The Solarium pool was quieter but not so good for proper exercising

It is school holiday time now so the ships will be full and there will be more kids than at other times

I walked the jogging track every morning around 8am (loved the 2 level track).  The main pool was very quiet at that time and 5-6 people every morning were swimming laps.  The young people didn't get up that early!

  2. We are just off the August 8th sailing.  Approximately 83% capacity.  Around 2,900 passengers.  Spectacular itinerary and most beautiful Celebrity ship I have ever been on.  We had a sunset veranda on deck 9.  We loved it!  Didn't mind all the extra steps either.  Was good for us!  Yes there were a lot of teens on board but we had absolutely no issues at all with them.  They were all having fun.  Was the pool crowded on the 2 sea days?  Absolutely but that's what I would have expected.  The solarium pool always was quiet with plenty of loungers and room in the pool.  There were definitely a few chronic complainers about the crowds on sea days but perhaps they shouldn't cruise in Europe in August!  I think some people think ships should remain at 50% capacity.  Well that's just not going to happen.  I actually enjoyed seeing all the people having fun into the late hours of the night.  I was on the Reflection in January with 800 guests and it was a ghost town.  We were a group of 4 and made reservations in advance of sailing for most all our dinners and had no waits at all.  Those with no reservations arriving at the dining room between 8-9pm seemed upset they had to wait a while.  Normandie was our favorite for main dining.  Rooftop Garden Grill for specialty dining although Eden was a close second.  We didn't care for Raw on 5 but are not big sushi eaters.   Planning is everything.  Entertainment was great.  Weather couldn't have been better.  Enjoy the Beyond.  She is spectacular.

  3. Thanks.  I looked at the current Beyond sailing daily schedules and they are only doing one show a night at 9pm.  I read on another post they are only at about 50% capacity this week.  Our sailing next Monday August 8th to the Greek Islands is rumored to have 3,000 passengers on board.  I’d assume with that load they’d need to run 2 shows a night.

  4. Thanks.  I’m really hoping for tender service here as so much easier for town access.  Our tour involves bus transportation so am assuming that if we are tendering we can meet them on shore.  As noted by JBare, the only other ship that day is the Constellation and their itinerary says tender also which would mean neither ship is scheduled to dock at the other location.  Probably unlikely so I’m hoping it’s them and not us Beyond.

  5. Hi.  We are on the August 8th Beyond sailing with a stop at Mykonos.  We have a ship excursion booked that starts at 12:30pm.  We arrive in Mykonos at 7am.  It is a tender port.  Does anyone know if you can go ashore early to walk around and then meet your tour on the pier instead of meeting on board to be escorted off?  Thanks.

  6. We booked our cruise departing out of Rome 2 weeks ago and purchased Delta flights with Flights by Celebrity.  All went smooth.  We got our Delta confirmation number and were able to pull up our reservation on the Delta site and select our seats.  Our reservation on Delta says "confirmed" but I can see it has not been "ticketed" yet.  Does anyone know when Flights by Celebrity will ticket the reservations?  We depart August 7.  Thanks!

  7. You're probably fine.  You do need to call Celebrity and have them send you a copy of your "booking invoice" so that you have a record of all your benefits and the package you have.  The email receipt when you book online doesn't have any of that information.  The on board credit shows up in your reservation immediately but it takes a good 3-4 days for the wifi and drink package to show up under your orders in the cruise planner.  And the prepaid tips will never show up in your cruise planner.  You will only see that on your booking confirmation.  I wouldn't worry if I were you.

  8. We have a speicalty dining reservation on our upcoming Beyond cruise.  Last week 2 friends decided to book the same cruise and join us.  They would like to reserve and join us for dinner that night.  Does anyone know if there's a way to edit a reservation to add more guests?  I'm hesitant to cancel my reservation and start over in case there aren't any more of those time slots at this time.  Can they book a reservation for 2 people and then when we get on board we speak to someone about combining the 2 tables?  Thanks!

  9. It depends on the length of your cruise.  My friend and her cousin just decided to join us on a Beyond sailing this summer.  The single cabin prices were priced at the 60% off and included all the perks.  If they had booked a cabin to share the cruise pricing was for the cruise only with no perks.  So they each booked a single infinite veranda cabin (and got cabins next to each other) with the Elevate package.  So they each got the premium drink package, gratuities and basic wifi plus $200 shipboard credit each.  The price of the singel cabin with all those benefits was $2,000 CHEAPER (each) than if they had shared an infinite veranda cabin on the same deck about 10 cabins down from their booked cabins (and added the Elevate package to the cruise only pricing).  Crazy pricing!
