  1. Thanks for taking the time to review - we were on the Panama Canal cruise immediately preceding yours and agree with your Sirena assessment. I was expecting to NOT like Red Ginger but loved it - wish you'd had a chance to try it. I'd rather have Toscana and Polo, yet here we are with another Sirena cruise booked for next fall!

Hopefully we didn't wear Dottie out! She was wonderful on our cruise.

  2. Sirena only has one laundry room, on Deck 7, unlike Marina. On the current cruise it has been crazy busy whenever we checked (early on), unlike our previous cruises on R-class. We've had two 20-for $24.95 offers, the first lasted (I think) 5 days and the second is just today (16 day cruise). Was great to have laundry done for us while we went on excursions!

  3. Here's my instant first-time-ever Jacques Bistro review: it's great! It's not the Jacques experience on Marina/Riviera but for an occasional break from trying to find a lunch table at the Terrace I heartily recommend it! The menu is printed out and distributed the night before, but in addition there is a list of specials in at least half a dozen categories (viande, poisson etc.). We liked that it wasn't crowded - maybe 1/4 full today - and very relaxed. We will go back on Friday just to try the interesting items that we missed!

  4. Hi there - we simply haven't had time to try the Jacques bistro yet! Hopefully today on sea day. Ship seems fine (comparing to previous Nautica trip) overall. I can say that if you have ANY problem, no matter how trivial, just let staff know and it will be attended to immediately. We had intermittent internet signal, let them know, and within the hour had some kind of router installed inside our room. Just wish the bathrooms (B class rooms) were a tiny bit bigger/nicer like on Marina. Hopefully will report on Jacques Bistro soon - but there are always Jacques items on GDR menu (likewise Red Ginger's sea bass on occasion). Happy travels!

  5. Onboard Sirena now en route to Nicaragua with Dottie. We aren't trivia players but have enjoyed her more than our previous two CDs - but that's personal preference ( we have learned some line dances - who says you can't teach old dogs...). What a lot of energy it must take, nearly round the clock!

  6. We stayed on an extra 2 nights at the Absalon in Copenhagen in July after our Baltic cruise. Maybe a block away from the main train station - we took the train to the airport, and it was very easy. Very nice place, reasonably priced, and room seemed enormous after a normal -sized cruise ship room. Breakfasts were included and VERY good.

Have a wonderful time in Copenhagen! We took a hop on, hop-off bus to get our bearings the first morning and then just walked around. Careful of the cyclists - they're quite serious!
