  1. Is the Internet Cafe free on the NCL Breakaway? I am nervous about not being in contact with family and hubby likes Internet access. However the daily rate is so expensive! Do I have other options or do I have to pay the $24.95 daily cost?

  2. How long does it take to get off the ship at the end of your cruise? We are booked on the NCL Breakaway out of New York. We are in the process of booking the Amtrak train and there are two times to choose from. 10:20 am or 1:20 pm. I have been told that it is only a 10 minute cab ride from the port to the train station.

Ideally, I would like the 10:20 a.m. train but I don't want to miss it.

  3. We have purchased the ultimate beverage plan for the Norwegian Breakaway traveling from New York on April 17. If we decide to stay on the ship during port days or when the ship is docked, are the alcoholic beverages still free? Or does the UBP only qualify when the ship is at sea?

  4. Hello everyone.

We will be cruising for the fist time in April on the NCL Breakaway. When I purchased the cruise I chose the UBP as my free upgrade. I would now like to choose the 3 night SDP but the price has increased by $10 pp. Before I booked my cruise the promotional price was $59 pp and now when I select it, it shows a price of $69 pp. Do I no longer qualify for the discount or will NCL honor the $59 if I call them?

  5. Thank you for your reply. We have already paid everything including the daily service fees, excursions and the gratuities for the dining and the beverages. I am concerned about the "hold" they will place on our credit card at the pier. Because we have prepaid everything I don't anticipate purchasing much onboard. I need to be sure we have a large enough credit balance on our credit card ahead of time. Will NCL hold $300 per person or per room? Another person said that the hold was $60 per person, per day.

  6. We booked a cruise April 17 through Harrahs. It was a promotion that gave us a cruise for two at a discounted rate. It was for a stateroom. At the time I thought the size of a room didn't matter and the cost to upgrade was over $300 per person. After reading the reviews I am now concerned the room may be too small. Is it possible to request another room, possibly a room with a balcony, after I have booked and paid? And who would I contact? Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

  7. My husband and I will be celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary on April 20, so we decided to book our first cruise! We will be leaving out of New York on April 17 on the NCL Breakaway. Excited but nervous. I have been doing so much research to try and make the best of our vacation. And with research comes questions....how do we pay for items while on the ship? Should I prepay for an onboard card or do you you just settle up your bill at the end of the week?
