Any Charcuterie Board recipients who do not want to haul the board home, please drop it by our friends Doug and Karen in 9069 and tell them, Gerry sent you 😇 We will be joining them in Buenos Aires on the 18th and we would love to get another Oceania Christmas gift. We have a number of Oceania cruiser friends here at home who would love to have a board so I will gladly carry one or more back home for them.
Thanks and have a great cruise.
Have the Amazon River Pilots joined the ship yet?  When they are on board, it is my understanding that “they are in charge” and believe me, O is paying a small fortune for those three pilots for a week. So sorry to hear about the sand bar issue and hope it does not impact any part of your cruise.

Christmas is past so Happy New Year one and all.

This morning on Marina a fellow guest very ungraciously returned a board to reception, with complaints…environment, weight, complete waste etc.

I mentioned that there is a couple on the ship who would gladly accept a board, but my “assistance “ was not well received.🫢

Does Oceania still send out the Cruise Booklet about six weeks before your cruise date?

Our cruise departs on December 18th, and we received our cruise booklet about 3 weeks ago direct from Oceania although we booked through a travel agent.

    Question?

If we bring our own bottles of wine on board.

Does Oceania charge a "Corkage Fee"?

Are there wine openers in the room?

    Thanks for your response.

We bring our own wine and our own corkscrew. Housekeeping could probably find you a corkscrew but we have  never asked. No corkage fee if you enjoy your wine in your own cabin. Corkage fee is payable when you bring your own wine to any of the dining rooms.

We recently booked a 2024 voyage on Riviera in Japan!  We are currently booked in 7108 and 7110, (traveling with friends) thanks to many of you here who spoke highly of the extended balcony and "two sided" one in 7108.  It was the last of the four with this configuration available.  Thanks to those who posted pictures.  Really helpful.

Now comes my question... should I be worried about noise coming from the dining room or casino as they are directly below on deck six?  We could upgrade to deck eight, but wouldn't have larger balcony.

Would appreciate any insight you experts might have. 🙂

We have been delighted with thes extended balconies, our favourite area! No noise from dining room or casino at all. Enjoy!

We just finished our first Oceania cruise, on Sirena, and enjoyed Red Ginger and the Grand Dining Room but were disappointed by Tuscan Grill. We will be on Riviera in March and I'm wondering if Toscana and Polo Grill are generally better than Tuscan Grill, which combines menu items from both of those. What about Jacques? Are these all worth going to? Because when we were at Tuscan Grill we were sorry we missed the main dining room that evening.

IMHO Jacques is really "the finest cuisine at sea". Polo and Toscana are also excellent on Riviera and Marina. Sorry you were disappointed by Tuscan Grill, we have never experienced it as we have never travelled on the Sirena or her sister ships.

Enjoy your cruise on the Riviera in March!

I’m getting ready to start packing - the pre packing look in the wardrobe has begun - I am going to take a pair of very very smart indigo jeans to wear one evening just to check if it causes anyone to be put off their food….

I am sure it won’t and we will all come out the other side unscathed.

The food is WAY too good! It'll take much more than a pair of jeans to put me off. lol

    Enjoy

  7. We were also on the Island earlier this year. We had a premium balcony cabin, on Caribe deck, which was spacious and well furnished. Crooners was our choice bar, seating usually available. Good Spirits at Sea had sandwiches at times. We were well satisfied with the ship and the accommodations, and we will be aboard again in August.

I tried that on our cruise in May and was told they had to bring the entire dinner. Stupid but Princess isn't exactly consistent with this sort of thing. It certainly won't hurt to ask up front and it may pay off as planned. Either way, one can get two tails.

On our August cruise I saw a lady order and receive two lobster tails in the MDR. I thought it somewhat ironic that in the Specialties the menus state “Enjoy an additional lobster tail for an additional $10.00”

In general it’s always a good idea to login to your Amex account and look at available offers and get them added to you card.  Sorry it’s not available for our northerly neighbors.

I got a triple whammy for our upcoming sailing with this offer, followed by shareholder credit, followed by some TA credit, followed by credit card points.

Thanks for checking that for me.

  10. We just came from Island Princess a cou[e of weeks ago.

There were pots of tea and pots of coffee, no choice of specialty teas.

Serving scones with preserves and whipped cream, cookies, squares, little sandwiches.

    Happened on sea days only

    No live music

    No ice cream

    enjoy!

Hi.  Taking you back in time.  Which of the PR aft cabins were you in and did it work out that you were happy there as you expected to be?  Specifically, did you have any issue with noise and vibrations?

    Thanks.

We were in PR723 recently. It was exceedingly noisy 24 hours per day, balcony was so loud it was unusable. The white areas on each side of the cabin seemed to contain industrial fans. The deck manager moved us to another area.
