Just a couple of simple questions.

I would like to know which terminal the Dream has  been cruising out of lately and also any recommendations for close parking within walking distance?

Thanks for in advance any information.

Port Parking's Express Lot is the closest within walking distance.  It is in front of Terminal 2.  We did an 8 day on the Dream recently, it was at terminal 2 when we left.  But when we returned it was at Terminal 1

We were on the Dream in December and Key West was cancelled.

No the Dream has not been to Key West.  All to date have been cancelled

I'm not sure that the cancellation penalties are automatically waved if you do that.  When I called in, she had to manually waive the penalties.

you're right they're not automatically waived.  i tried doing it online, my penalty would've been almost $200

Heard from a family member currently on 1/27 sailing of the Breeze. Ship had to turn around for crew medical emergency so there was not enough time to make Cozumel. They tried to make Progresso instead but winds were too high to dock. 4 night cruise to nowhere is better than no cruise at all!

We just got back today, vista. We were in Cozumel Thursday. Seas were very rough the entire way back. So yeah I can see Progresso begin difficult to dock at

So I lost my physical gift card but have the numbers and pin. You think I can still add it at the kiosk ?

I just did on the Vista this past week. We added a total of 7 cards throughout the week. We did have issues occasionally. Only 1 time we had to go to first services. Yes all 7 were ecards

Does anyone know if the boat that takes you to Caye Caulker picks you up and leaves directly from the ship or if you still have to tender to shore before catching the excursion boat?

I'm trying to decide if it's worth the extra money to book directly through Carnival, and not having to tender before the excursion would be a plus.

We did this excursion in Sept. You do tender to Belize then go from there on another boat for snorkeling & sharks/rays. It was Awesome btw.....enjoy 😃

Does Carnival still make you fill out a precruise health assessment or questionnaire (the one that ask if you have had any symptoms, been exposed to, or tested positive for COVID in past 14 days) still?  Will it just show up in the to-do area 2-3 days prior to cruise to complete?

Yes. I sail Saturday & just did ours within the last hour. It popped up today.

The dw and I have a cruise on the Vista on February 5 going to Jamaica and Grand Cayman. Does anyone have info on whether or not the ships have been stopping or going to those ports.

I think the next announcement will be Jan 27 or 29th. We original had that itinerary on the Vista leaving next Saturday.  As of now, Grand Cayman is still closed to cruise ships

Currently on board the Breeze.  The first elegant night my family was pulled into the Dream Studio and had about a 15 minute photo session done.

I went to view them yesterday and holy cow they are AMAZING, but EXPENSIVE!  There are 23 images and he said $899 for the package.  Is there anyway to get a deal on them?  I realize photography is expensive, first off but we did not budget for $900 in pictures but I love them and I want them 😂

Same happened to us on the Breeze.  It was my son's senior year in HS so it worked out perfect.  Pictures were AWESOME but when they told me the price ($1600+) i said NO & started to walked out.  They "dropped" the price, about 50%.  I eventually caved.  But nope never gonna do it again.

  10. I'm in the Houston area, we were tested for exposure.  The 1st test wasn't bad at all, no line it was the morning when all the madness started (Dec 27).  We were told results would be back in 24 hrs.  But nope got our results late Thursday.  2nd test though was on NYE, wow it felt like the longest wait ever, 2+ hrs wait in line.  At that location we were told 48-72 hrs for results.  We got those results last night.  So both were 3 days.  I was planning on using the 2nd location for our cruise testing since it is so close to home, but nope not if it takes that long.  The last 2 cruises Walgreens & CVS worked out perfectly fine so I will stick with them if they have openings.  I've been doing trial runs on both & it seems the same, a lot of available appointments over night.  When I tried during the day both websites would time out due to too much traffic.  Hoping the demand dies down in a couple of weeks

Yes I realize not of the utmost importance, but at least its not another covid/test thread...lol....

So I "think" I recall reading here (though I will admit it was maybe elsewhere) that Carnival has replaced those horrible flimsy paper straws with some sort of candy (???) straws????  If I recall correctly can someone, please advise more on that.....I am a candy fan but still seems odd.... especially depending on the drink type...

If I am completely wrong LOL....does Carnival use those flimsy paper straws?  I hate those in pool cocktails.....never make it till the end for me...

    TIA......

No paper straw but the sugar ones are just as bad. After about 5 minutes they start to feel slimy/gooey and very flimsy.  They do sell reusable metal & silicone ones onboard.  I saw them at most bars

  12. I'm not a vocal about it as i used to be mainly because even pre covid many questioned why i cruise.  sorry, not sorry that i like to take a break & vacation in an affordable & convenient way.  Last year, before the restart i did get "are you crazy" looks.  now i'm not hiding it, just on a need to know basis....my boss, my employees, my coverage person & immediate family my absence may affect.  But after i get back, i'm so excited talking about it non-stop i have noticed a few people stay away 😄 but for the most part many are excited to see pictures & hear about my trip

Lesson learned.  Why did you wait so long to sign up?  Even if you just found out about the site, you should have pulled the trigger immediately after accumulating enough points to get the ecards you wanted.  Obviously you now need to keep your fingers crossed that they get put back in within a week.  Good luck.

You could sign up for AARP for 90 days for $1.00 and then cancel before the 16.00 renewal kicks in. They have the ecards available.

Do they have e-cards now (aarp)?

I made a mistake.  Its not walgreens but CVS.  It is the rapid antigen test.  It states on their website that it is not acceptable for a lot of travel.  I booked it because it says rapid antigen and Carnivals site says a rapid antigen test is acceptable.  Has anyone gotten this test at CVS?  Should I be worried?  It is not the PCR or NAAT.

yes it is accepted.  i used it in september
