  1. Funny story about asking for a facecloth in wallmart, i once asked for a kettle in a well known american superstore and they had no idea what i was talking about, so i said you know to boil water, tho which there reply was - You want to boil water ? With a strange look. Like i asked them for a flying car. I guess they all use coffee machines, and dont drink tea lol. Eventually we got one. Bizzare lol

  2. Quite interesting info, i love a new ship, was on harmony of the seas and splendor of the seas in 2016. I really enjoyed both. Loved all the things harmorny had to offer but i also liked the small(ish) ship feel of splendor and always being able to see the sea.

  3. I live in Scotland but visit florida a few times a year, just back a few weeks ago actually, its heartbreaking to watch the news here and see what the people are up against. My thoughts are with everyone and hope you are all safe, praying there is as little damage done as possible for everyone. In scotland every one moans about our horrible weather but when you see what the United states gets hammered with sometimes it makes u realise how lucky we are. Good luck everyone x

  4. The quantum class ships are great. Been on oasis class, quantum class and vision class, so far quantum class has been my favourite. They really are beautiful ships, with great venues. It might take traditional cruisers time to understand the dining and entertainment set up, as u have to book things really. But i did it all before I boarded, so had stress free amazing time. The cafe two70 does all the deli sandwiches and salads too that were great. I really did like the park cafe on harmony of the seas though the choice was amazing and ended up being my favourite place on board to eat i think.

  5. The hearing difficulty was caused by the other passengers talking and the lack of load speaker for the crew who were in charge of the drill. I think the passengers were only talking though to find out what on earth was going on, as u couldnt hear or see a thing as we were so tightly packed Into the pizza restaurant. I realise the nearly 10000 people was including the crew, i was just trying to put the point across that in these HUGE ships you would have though there evacuation system would come under higher scrutiny because of the grater number of "souls" on board to evacuate the ship if need be. It was just a total mess from start till they said we could leave. The system on there older ships, felt much safer and seemed like a much better system.

  6. Our latest muster drill on harmony of the seas was a total riot. 3-4 hundred people squashed into a small pizza restaurant, couldnt hear a thing, was told nothing despite really trying to hear out for commands or instruction. No life vests ( though been on 4 royal cruises now and havent had to take them or wear them yet ) . I thought with the newer MEGA ships they would have perfected the emergency drill to evacuate nearly 10000 people of a ship quickly. But sadly not. We remembered thinking at the time i really hope there isnt ever an emergency because it would be terrible. I will say on enchantment and splendor of the seas this year and last it was much MUCH MORE ORGANISED. We had to stand in a strict line, shout your cabin number and stand in an orderly position by our lifeboat. So you actually got a feel of what would happen. From the restaurant on harmony and two70 on quantum you could even see or were shown how to get to the lifeboad. Tho the drill on quantum was much more organised and in a bigger room.

  7. Haha ... Beer taste on a generic soda budget, that just made me really lol micmacmissy, [emoji12]

Iv never done a carnival cruise before. ( so far loyal to royal ). When i look at the carnival ships online i just think there decor is really loud and not nice colours. Even on the new vista. This is just my personal taste though. Mabe you have to see it in person to see an orange and black stripey carpet. [emoji15] lol

  8. People can be so critical of the food on a cruise, to be honest tho, one mans love is another mans hate. Everyones idea of a nice meal is different. Im a chef and restaurateur so i can appreciate the mammoth task of feeding thousands of people in quick succession many times a day. My hat goes off to the guys. I do like to try the specialty restaurants on board tho, like at home i get easily fed up eating at the same place all the time. My favourite specialty resaurant is jamies. Looking forward to trying 150 central park, costal kitchen and sabor on my next cruise tho.
