As you indicated, this is a charter, not run by Disney. You will see less of the Disney influence than you would on regular cruises. But it's still a Disney ship. The Magic is a classically beautiful ship and it has some of the largest staterooms at sea. You'll love the food and the restaurants. I don't know if they perform the regular shows, I suspect not, since it will be focused on movies. If they do, they are not to be missed.
I'd be curious to learn from anyone that has done this cruise, if there is less of a presence of children due to the nature of the cruise.
I like the idea of large stateroom’s! Especially sharing with another girl. Thank you for your insight.

Hello everyone! First time over here on the Disney Board. My friend asked me last night if I would be interested in a Turner Classic Movie charter in November. I love to cruise but I am not a Disney fan nor do any of our group have children. I guess I’m wondering if anyone has done a charter with Sixthman? I can’t find any information if it’s a total charter or not so I think that might sway me. It does state that most Disney Themed entertainment is suspended. The price is more than we usually pay on NCL but I have heard great things about the food and ships. Anyone else interested in this charter?

Another thought I had was driving to Louisville or another airport? I hope it works out for you!

I’m enjoying your review(like always) but I wish I would have known your were coming to Bremerton! I live about 10 minutes from the Bremerton ferry. If I walk around the corner from my house I can see the ferry passing through the inlet.
Fun fact about the fountains by the shipyard, during Covid shutdown they completely renovated and added filtration systems. People prior to the shut down would let kids play in the water when it was hot (no one has A/C on this side of the water) and all the people in the water kept clogging up the water system. Yuck! 🤢

If the internet was better I would go on more cruises. I work remotely and can go wherever I like and work. I would love to work on the Bliss to Alaska but unfortunately the WiFi just isn’t going to cut it. I don’t even need to work all day but probably 2-4 hours. We’re going to Mexico soon and I’ll be doing my work by the pool for a couple hours. When I get hot I’ll cannonball in and then get back to my spreadsheets and emails until the margaritas arrive.

I know my in laws would absolutely love cruises. It’s exactly the atmosphere they look for in land vacations but my mother in law is terrified of the ocean. I have tried for years to invite them but it went no where. Suddenly out of the blue they asked if we would be interested in taking an Alaska cruise next year!
I think all the videos and information I have been sending has paid off! 😀
I hope you can convince your friend.

The way I interpret this is that if you arrive "by sea in a private boat" then you don't have to be tested, but because cruise ships are "petri dishes of COVID" you must be tested.
Exactly. I tried to post again last night but it didn’t submit. Cruise ships are in a different category.

Just got this from the CA web site for vaccinated travelers:
Pre-entry testing is not required
Pre-entry tests are not required for fully vaccinated travellers entering Canada by land, air or water. You must still use ArriveCAN within 72 hours before your arrival to Canada.
Unvaccinated and partially vaccinated children under the age of 12 are not required to provide a valid pre-entry test result, if they are accompanying a fully vaccinated adult.
Children who are less than 5 years old are not required to test, regardless of their vaccination status.
If you scroll down a little further on that page it states that it’s still mandatory for all arriving by cruise ship. I wish they would simplify the website.

I took mine! I also take a curling iron. Never been confiscated.

Controversial: I think they should ban all smoking. I also have zero interest in the Haven. Having a butler would make me so anxious I wouldn’t enjoy the cruise.
Something I love: The fitness center and any classes that are offered. I never get time at home to do exactly as I want so I like to do it on board.

An Uber or Lyft from Pioneer Square would be under $40.

I live in the Seattle area. I think it would be best to take the light rail train and then Uber/Lyft over to the pier. The walk is pretty long and not really easy to get around right now due to ongoing construction. Just follow the signs T the airport the light rail and stay on until Pioneer Square. Best of luck!

The price of flights is definitely changing all of my vacation/travel plans unfortunately.

AT&T does a cruise package for certain ships.

My friend that has twins got this wagon/stroller crossover from Amazon and she is obsessed with it. You can buckle the kids in, it has a tray for the kids (they face each other) and cup holders at the top handle. I’m not sure if im allowed to link it but if you search for ‘Veer Cruiser’ on Amazon it pops right up. It’s pricey but you will get years of use out it. It folds up very slim so it would fit under the cabin bed.

I’m sorry this has happened to you. Most of my friends are flight attendants with Delta and they have all expressed how awful traveling is right now for just about everyone. I only travel with a carry on suitcase because I have control issues and refuse to be without my stuff.

I don’t really care for sugar free alternatives but I have had them make margaritas and asked that it be half full and the other half club soda! I still get the flavor but less calories. I like really fizzy drinks though so it works for me.

I was a little hopeful they would drop the testing requirement. I’m happy with keeping everything else. We had a bad experience in Mexico last summer with my husband and a friend testing positive twice on rapid tests and then negative on a PCR and it pretty much ruined the last two days of our trip. My husband is now unwilling to do any trip that requires testing. 😭 I really wanted to treat him to a cruise to Alaska in May for his birthday but I’m going to have to rethink that. Maybe things will change again…

I LOVE the spa on the Epic. I would choose an aft room if possible. I also enjoy the epic and her weirdness.

We did a zodiac whale watching tour and the boat operator took us around that area as well. I don’t remember if we went under totally but we did get very close to the sea lions.

This is about the 3rd reminder about COVID testing I've received. Got this one this a.m. Sailing this weekend. They are serious about this.... 😉
Dear Valued Guest, Thank you for choosing Norwegian Cruise Line. As previously communicated, all guests are required to take a COVID-19 antigen test, administered and paid for by the cruise line, prior to boarding and receive a negative result. Please ensure you complete this registration no later than 24 hours prior to sailing. Your personal registration can be completed by clicking here. Register. If you have already completed the required registration, please disregard this email. Sincerely, Norwegian Cruise Line Please do not reply to this email.
You are getting so close! I hope you have a wonderful cruise! It’s supposed to be sunny-ish this weekend in Seattle.

We are sailing on Ovation to Alaska on the Sept 17 sailing. I want to get excited...but have not allowed myself because of fear of cancellation. Thoughts? I would think at this point it is a go no matter what...but again...after a few cancellation maybe I am being a bit too cautious? Momma needs a vacation.
I think you will be good to go. Be aware that WA state mandated masks again in all public locations starting today.

I would drive the 10 minutes to the ferry terminal from my house , 30 minute ferry ride and then walk down the pier in Seattle. Other than that the drive to Long Beach, CA is around 20 hours and I refuse to sit in a car for more than 5 hours.

I usually only take $50 ashore with me. I don’t like to carry much cash and I don’t shop very much. Enough for a taxi or two if needed, some beers on the beach and maybe a snack. If I need anything else I just put it on my card.
