  1. Hi there, we will be arriving in Ephesus late May. We're trying to decide on which tour to take. Not really interested in 'Mary's House" but would like to see the other ruins and the "Terrace Houses." We've been looking at Viator tours (much less expensive than RCCL) however, according to reviews, they all seem to end up at a rug factory. Are there any tours that don't end up at the rug factory? Or any recommendations for other tours? Thanks for any info.
  2. Hi all, I was wondering if the tours sponsored by the ship are sold out online, do they ever have availability once you board the ship Any info appreciated.
  3. We will be arriving in Santorini on the Odyssey in late May. We are docked from 1pm til 11pm and it appears there will be 3 ships in port. We plan to do our own thing (no tours are available /sold out of things of interest to us) We would really like to catch the sunset from Santo Winery and I saw we could actually catch a bus there, or maybe even walk (we're in ok shape) My question is, for the way back, do they have the steps coming down "lit up?" I know the sunset will be a little later (8:30ish) but I'm worried about walking down steps in the dark if cable car line is too crowded. Thanks for any info.
  4. Hi everyone, we will be arriving in Mykonos May 30 via cruise ship (7am-6pm) I'm not sure if we'll be tendered or not. We didn't book any tours. We are thinking of walking to town, seeing the windmills and going to a place with a good view in Little Italy. Then, we would like to hang out at a beach nearby for lounging and drinks. Do we have time for all this? I'm not sure of the distances between each of these sites. Any recommendations where to eat (with a good view) in Little Italy? Also, will the weather be warm enough for lounging at the beach? Any info appreciated.
  5. Hi everyone! We will be in Santorini on May 28 (Odyssey Ship) from @1 to 9pm. Most ship tours are already booked. We plan on getting water taxi on our own to head over to Amoudi Bay. (We want to avoid long line at cable car and we would never ride poor donkeys!) Anyway, I'm assuming we should be able to catch a shuttle/bus to Oia, and when we're done exploring, I'm hoping we can catch a bus/shuttle back to Fira. We plan on walking back down on our own. Does this seem feasible? If so do we need local cash or do buses/shuttles take credit cards? Should we add any other sights? Recommendations for dinks/appies with a nice view would be a bonus!! Thanks for any info
  6. Do you need to make a reservation for the "Bolt" roller coaster?
  7. Does anyone know what deck (if any) goes all the way around the Mardi Gras ship? We like to take morning walks, and we usually end up doing a few laps around the ship. This will be our first time on the Mardi Gras and it's hard for me to tell if any of the decks go all the way around. The "running track " looks pretty small. Thanks in advance for any info.
  8. Just curious. Has anyone ever just showed up to a port see if there were any last minute cancelations? I was wondering if you would be able to board or if that was even allowed.
  9. We are trying to book a cruise (very last minute!) and it appears all cabins are booked except for suites. Does anyone know if there's an actual waiting list for last minute cancellations?
  10. Can anyone tell me the distance and cost of a taxi ride from Nassau (port) to the Riu? We plan on spending the day there and I'm wondering how much time we would need to head back to the ship. thanks for any info.
  11. We will be in Nassau and were wondering which you would choose between The Riu all inclusive or Breezes all inclusive for a day pass resort. Thanks for any input.
  12. Does anyone know what production shows are on the Mardi Gras Ship?
  13. I figured that. It's such a bummer because the whole point was to travel together. Thx for all of your input.
  14. So we were scheduled to go on a cruise (Nov 11) with friends. We booked this cruise separately. Unfortunately, our friends wife had an accident yesterday (she is ok, but she has a fractured orbit and wrist) and can't/doesn't want to do this cruise anymore. They have independent travel insurance so they are covered. Our insurance will not cover for this. We were all thinking of just rescheduling for a couple of weeks. Has this happened to anyone? We don't want to cancel, just postpone when she's healed. Any suggestions?
  15. We will be arriving in Newport next week at 6am. We would like to do the Cliff Walk, The White Horse tavern, and the Breakers Mansion. We have to be back on ship by 3. Will we have enough time to do all these? Are they walkable? Or would we need to find transportation. We don't really want to do a ship tour. Any info appreciated.
  16. We are leaving out of New York on the Breakaway. We picked 9:30am as our preboarding time. However, our paperwork shows they don't actually board until 12:00. Is there any reason to get there by 9:30? Or should we just relax for a bit at our hotel? I really don't want to stand around waiting to board if we can't board til 12:00. Any info on how this works?
  17. This will be our first time sailing with Norwegian Cruise line. We have sailed with Royal Carribean and Carnival many times. My question is do they make you meet at your Muster station as soon as you get on the ship? We already watched the "safety video" and did our "pre check in" online, but I was wondering do they sign us off when we go to our muster station? Thanks for any info...
