  1. @Happycrafter123 hi there, me again. I just heard about something special on Breakaway called "Glow Night". Can you enlighten me? Also, are there any other "special" events goin on during the day at sea or other? Thanks
  2. HI all, anyone use Get Your Guide from Cannes, France over to Monaco? If so, mind sharing your thoughts? Would you use them again and recommend them? Thanks
  3. @Happycrafter123 Did you walk up to the top of the Acropolis to see the Parthenon? If so, how was it? Any idea how long it took to walk it? And did you go into the museum? If so, any comments on how much time you spent in there? Finally what else did the excursion take you to see in Athens? Thanks
  4. Thank you so much @Happycrafter123. Your info is such a great help! Do you know if people got back to the ship on time in Santorini who were with you at 7:15, but chose to ride the Gondola down instead of walk? Your walk down sounds like something we might want to avoid.
  5. Got it. Thanks. Do you happen to know if the tap water in most of the European ports is safe to drink, or do I need to start doing some more homework prep?
  6. Showing my ignorance again. Is the water not safe to drink is that why aqua pana water and the white cardboard flow water???
  7. Thank you yet again. Too bad you're not on our cruise, your wealth of knowledge is great, and you are very kind to share it. All the best, Patti aka Southern Reader 🙂
  8. Ouch! How did you finally find the correct line to be in? Do you speak Italian? I don't, and even my high school Spanish is about 40 years too rusty. LOL
  9. Hi John, yes, that's what NCL told me. I hope the agent was wrong. I have another question for you on the Monte Carlo train from Cannes. Will we need to show our passports to board and ride the train since it crosses a country line? Also, I'm sorry if I've asked this already, but do you remember if there taxis at the train station? We are thinking if we get delayed arriving we will want fast transportation up to the upper areas of town. Thanks again
  10. Hi Eileen, I called NCL about the early tender tickets, and they said we would need to purchase that feature for $269 or so. Is that what you are talking about? Thanks,
  11. Booked a private tour with Santorinitours.com They are to meet us at the top of the cable car. Anyone have experience with them? I read some good reviews online.
  12. Two more questions, any idea what time the businesses start to close in Oia, and is there anything else to see in Santorini? Thanks
  13. Hi John, our NCL cruise excursions for Santorini are all full so we have to tour it on own. We would like to go up to Oia. Any suggestions? We are in port 1pm-9:30pm on Monday July. I understand we will not be able to disembark until all of the excursion passengers are gone, though how we will know when we can go I do not know. Assuming we can get off the ship by 2 or 2:30pm (I hope), where would we find tickets to the cable car or that boat to Amoundi, and how do we find both the cable car and that little boat? Also once we dock on that boat is there a public bus or something we can take up to Ois? And last but not least we plan to find an atm for euros when we land at the Rome airport, but if that fails do the cable car and or boat take credit cards? Thanks
  14. I will absolutely share any insights I learn. Meanwhile, HappyCrafter123, would you mind sharing the NCL excursions you are considering taking? Thanks
  15. Thank you so much! Can you tell me should we buy tickets online somewhere ahead of time and if so where? Do the trains run regularly every 30 minutes or so? Also, do you remember if the train comes into town on the upper mountainous area or by the coast? We are trying to figure out if the walk from the train station in Monte Carlo is uphill or downhill to the Casino and harbor as well as what it is like to the overlook of the harbor near the Prince's Palace? We are in Cannes Port from 7 am to 4pm that day. We estimate if we can get off the tender by 9am we would catch the next train to Monte Carlo spend a few hours walking around then catch a 1:30 pm train back to Cannes Port. Does this sound reasonable? Thanks
  16. I called Bob's limo USA number about the tour we want and spoke to a man who was pretty friendly. I booked the Pisa and Cinque Terre tour with them for our family. If anyone has had any experience with their tours I'd greatly appreciate hearing from you. Thanks in advance
  17. Hi Hank, Is it difficult to get to and from the train stations in Cannes and Monte Carlo? OUR NCL is out of excursions to Monte Carlo, but we would like to try the train over and back. I realize it is an hour each way so we would allow for that. We are in port from 7 a to 4pm so figured we could hopefully catch an 8am train over arrive around 9 stroll around and head back by 1pm to be safe. Should we buy train tickets ahead of time or is it easy to buy them at the station? It looks like a train runs every 30 minutes or so???? Thanks, Pat and family
  18. Does anyone know if it is easy to catch the train from Cannes, France to Monte Carlo, Monaco? NCL is sold out of the Monte Carlo, Monaco excursions. I saw it is an hour each way. Any info on getting around Monte Carlo once the train arrives? Thanks
  19. Hi Happy Crafter, I just booked a shore excursion with Bo's limos https://www.romelimousines.com/ to take us to Pisa and Cinque Terre since our cruise excursion is full. Have you heard anything about their reliability in getting us to the ship on time? I am also hoping to use them for transfer to airport on our morning of departure which means a 6 am pick up time if they will do that early. Any thoughts? Thanks
