Yes I’ve just seen the Premium soft drinks now £22. I will wait and see if it goes back down!

Premium soft drinks being offered at £15.20 at the minute on my Quantum sailing , Deluxe beverage package at £30.40.  Not seen it this low.

  2. I booked my package last week for the Quantum. The premium drinks package was £31.04pd, the refreshment package was £12 something. I notice on my planner that the price has gone back up. As others have said keep watching it on your planner - it may only drop in price for a couple of days.

    Just record this from RCCL

    REFUND:

    • Looking for a refund? No problem! We are happy to return the funds paid per guest when requesting this option on-or-before December 31, 2020. To submit on your client's behalf, simply complete the new “Cancellation Form” on CruisingPower.com under “Brand Programs & News” and the process will begin.  Your client can expect their refund to the original form of payment within 45 days from the cancellation date. To ensure your client is making the best choice, no need to rush on deciding  the 125% Future Cruise Credit will remain active until the point when a refund request is submitted, at which time it will be deactivated.

Wish PCL would do this and keep their promise!

Sounds good - but I've been waiting 67 days so far for my RCCL refund.

  4. My 16th March cruise was cancelled by Royal on 12th March, still no refund.  I've been told 14 days, 30 days, 30 business days, 45 days and now my T/A says up to 90 days!. Half expecting 120 days to be thrown in next. I wouldn't mind waiting if I was quoted a genuine rough date of payment - even if it was 6 months.  Want to book another cruise but not booking till I get this one back.

We had our cruise on the Quantum cancelled in February for the March sailing and the full refund came through within 2 weeks. We then booked the Jewel from Dubai for March instead and this was also cancelled nearly 4 weeks ago.

I have been onto them in the past week and firstly got told the funds had been sent but rejected by my c.c. provider.

I contacted c.c. provider and they checked and no attempt made, nothing rejected and no issues with the card as far as they knew. Refunds from other providers have arrived no problem on the card.

Phoned RC back yesterday and got a different story but that funds had been sent back to card 2 days ago. Still nothing.

Will give it a couple of days.

Trying to be reasonable in these difficult times but that only stretches so far.

I was also on the Jewel in March that was cancelled so your answer gives me an idea when to expect a refund.

Did you get an email for the cancelled drink packages? I was told when I cancelled my cruise that I would get an email about the drink packages (they are automatic when the packages are cancelled), but I would not get an email for the cruise cancellation. They gave me a confirmation number for the cruise portion. I did in fact receive and email for the drink packages being cancelled and refunded (it came through before I even hung up the phone), so if you didn’t get one, I’d call back fo make sure.

Royal cancelled my cruise on 12th March. I then cancelled the drinks packages and tours. Got the email about the packages but nothing received yet for either.

The herd immunity was an idea floated it was never enacted but if I'm honest that is what is happening anyway.

Schools closed due to media and public pressure. Just like the lockdown.

thanks for your reply any tips on visiting doa abudhabi sirbini yas  ports is there taxis at ports or do they offer shuttles?

    Thanks in advance

    Mac

Not been to SBY or Doha - we go next month.  Been to Abu Dhabi before, there are loads of taxis at the port entrance, we negotiated a price with one to show us the sights for about 3 hours - very cheap. Mosque is a must see - have fun.

  9. We cruised from Malta a couple of years ago. We flew TUI charter flight from Manchester and landed in Malta about 6pm. You are not fed on the plane but the snacks/drinks are a reasonable price.  On arrival at Malta we were met by coaches who drove I guess 4/5 miles to the boat. We  didn't bother with dinner the first night, went in the buffet as it was late.  On the day of disembarkation we were allowed to go off the ship, go and tour the town and then get back on the boat for lunch before our afternoon flight, which we thought was good. Can't remember when we had the drill but we had it. Really enjoyable cruise, enjoy yours.

  10. A pint of basic beer in UK out of London is about 4 quid is it not? About the same as here, although I find wine expensive in UK pubs and restaurants. I like the idea of small, medium and large glasses of wine that they serve over there.:halo:

Glad to hear you enjoyed you visit to Sydney and cruise on ye olde Sun Princess, you 'Escaped Completely and Came Back New.':*

Thanks NSWP, yes great cruise and thanks for the info. Beer in London about £5 a pint, I pay £3 in my local. JD Wetherspoons pubs are a good bet in any town. Have a great time over here in blighty.

  11. Glad you enjoyed your adventure, did the Aussies behave? :') Like plenty of tuxedos on formal nights?

You guys from UK are in clover when you come to OZ, almost 2 AUD for a quid. Think of us, like when we hit merry old England in May.... 2 Aussie dollars = a quid. ouch.

Still thought Sydney expensive for beer/wine - even on happy hour, maybe we went to the wrong places - still a fab place though. Aussies great - as ever, love visiting your part of the world.

  12. Great, thanks a lot..much appreciated.

Hi Newport Dave, I'm just back off the Sun Princess . Daily gratuity charges were AUD$17.30 pp per day. Coffee card was AUD$36. As an aside - I paid myself £100 onboard credit and received a generous AUD$185.14.

Anything else you want to know let me know. Brilliant cruise apart from the disruption with the tropical cyclone.

  13. Simple if you booked and paid in Australia your fare is higher and you are not slugged on board gratuities to your on board account . However if you booked outside Australia your fare should be lower and you will be slugged the on board gratuity to your on board account pp per day .

The reason for this , it is illegal under Australian law to quote a price and then charge extra as an odd on afterwards for travel products sold in Australia . The travel price in Australia quoted must include all hidden extras and charges .

Thanks for the info Kuldalai - Aussie way seems a better way of doing things.
