  1. Ive never used a TA so I don't know of any to recommend, but I do know that they will take existing reservations and they reserve blocks of rooms. Maybe one can take both of your bookings and move you next to each other. I'm not sure what your cabin classes are, but they might let one of you pay so they are the same and make it happen.

  2. I've never used a TA before. Are their "perks" enough to not use a pvp? I'm going on the Glory later this year and thinking of booking next years cruise while I'm on board so I can get the OBC. I've heard it's possible to transfer bookings to TAs so I was thinking of doing that to see if I could get additional perks. Am I hoping for too much? Are their perks only good if you do the original booking through them? Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

  3. I think Carnival is the reason for low attendance. There is no uniformity as to when the meet and mingles are and who from Carnival shows up. I've heard that they have them at 5 o'clock on port days when people are getting back on the ship or other odd days and times. This is the first time I've seen a post where it was on a sea day and I think people are still using social media sites to make their own meet and mingle at sail away or some other agreed apon time. Carnival should expect low turn outs if they offer the meet and mingles at a time that is convenient for the most people to attend. Just my 2 cents

  4. I never ate them on the cruise. I usually ate them on the plane ride home to have something other than airplane snack food. As for those that say cutting back on mints was the money saving offset for 2.0 upgrades are crazy. They probably put those small savings towards food on the ship but I've never seen a price drop or stay the same in the cost of a cruise with Carnival after all the cutbacks.

I would assume that the older ships that are paid for are paying for the 2.0 upgrades and the vista class ships not eliminating nightly mints

  5. Others have stated they will look around if the cuts are too deep to their liking. I think they will convert everyone to the days that they have sailed and add a tier or maybe two like Diamond plus and Platinum plus. That said, I was looking at other lines before this announcement because honestly Caranival is just as expensive or more expensive than RCCL when they run the 60%off the second person sail and their boats have more restaraunts and things to do on board. They have a 30 point tier that offs almost the same perks that Carnival offers for Platinum cruisers, but at the end of the day I've only sailed carnival and remain loyal to them. That will change if I have to get Gold status for a 3rd time after these announcements. I barely get anything with it but atleast I can mentally justify it to myself by saying I'm only one tier away from getting alittle something for only cruising Carnival.

  6. It's interesting to me- the posts about adding levels, adding perks, all CCL cruises count etc etc etc.

You've got to be kidding. Already there are thousands of people who already are Platinum and Diamond. It only takes 11, 7 day cruises to become Platinum. Hardly a "lot" of loyalty. All those "perks" cost money. What some are proposing is more be spent on more people? Where do they think it would be coming from? Well it will be increased fares. Upper perks should be difficult to obtain and not half the ship qualifying.

Not everyone lives next to a port. I don't. I can drive close to 10 hours to get to Galveston or I have to get a flight. 11 flights for 2 is around 12k extra for flight costs. And no I'm not saying that home location of the traveler should mean anything, I'm saying 75 days is harder to get to for those that don't live near a port.
