  1. I need to be heading to the piano bar to stake out a seat but I need to let my phone charge or it won't make it very long tonight. I suspect everyone who enjoys the piano man will be there excited to finally have one on the schedule and I will be shut out, but I will just have to take that chance. The ship is rocking a little this evening. Nothing major, it's just the first time I have felt it this cruise. There is rain in the forecast the rest of the cruise and I wonder if we are heading into bad weather. I've got my motion pills ready just in case.
  2. I'm not a big crème brule fan but this was one of the better ones I've ordered. Overall it was a good meal. Dinner service continues to run longer than I would prefer. The waitstaff were friendly and personable, I just need it to move a little quicker. If I was not still excited for the new menus, I would have given up by this point and just gone to the buffet or deli (for hot sandwiches only). The lido has been slammed at dinner every night when I have walked through to try and get pictures. I don't ever recall seeing the buffet so busy and it really makes me wonder how the dining room can be so busy with the buffet also getting hammered. I wonder if they are underutilizing the assigned dining rooms?
  3. Salmon was good. I miss the everyday salmon but the new salmon offerings are a huge improvement. The lobster I had low expectations for and it met them. Overcooked, tiny, no real flavor. I got it because I wasn't really hungry but now I am and wish I had ordered a real dish. Creme Brule 822.
  4. The calamari were a little too salty for my liking but the addition of the peppers was good. Not too chewy and a good marinara sauce, just needed less salt. The pasta was good I'd like to order a full one, just not sure I'm hungry enough for a full portion of pasts tonight. It's quite good though. Salmon and lobster 805.
  5. +2.8 I guess. I dint think I'm going to get an accurate reading until I move to a room with less vibration. Steps are moving along nicely.
  6. Checked in at 619 with a 40 to 50 minute wait. Hopefully this isn't the night the timer goes quick I've still gotta head back to the room and change. No dinner jacket 😀. Just long pants for elegant night.
  7. Sail away was beautiful. I'll share pictures in a little while but now I'm off to the sauna.
  8. This was the first time my face didn't melt off as soon as I stepped outside in San Juan. I think they moved a couple feet away from the sun for my arrival today and I appreciate that.
  9. We should be getting ready to sail away soon. I am going to head out on deck to watch us sail away, as sail away from San Juan is one of the best!
  10. I haven't found the display I hope they are going to put one out this year. It does say it's not edible, but I take that as a suggestion more than a rule 😀
  11. One is more unnerving than the other and I think I will avoid the cold sandwiches either way 😆 Definitely taking up some space which I thankfully don't need. My mom had to ask for them to be removed when we cruised. I had to rearrange them but I've got room until tomorrow at least then they may have to go in a closet or be deconstructed 🤣
  12. That salad....ooof. I was still hungry and trying to be healthy I went ahead and made a salad. The lettuce had chunks of ice in it. Most of the toppings were empty. The remaining options were severely picked through. No meat option. I went to the deli for some lunch meat. They have zero cold sandwich options. I just want the meat, it is not available. Head to the front salad line. Line is massive, but meat is available so I wait. It was picked through pretty bad at this point but I took what I could get. By now the ice has melted and my salad was wet, soggy and not good. Then I discovered the issue when I noticed the discard times written on slips of paper taped to the dressing. They must have had a surprise food inspection today since this is a US port. It's ironic that food quality slips so much when inspectors board. I also can't help but wonder now, were the missing cold items at the deli a casualty of the chaos that ensues when there is an inspection, or is their cold food staging area unable to meet safety guidelines so they took it out of service for the inspection?
  13. Double chocolate frappe. It's funny you say that, it did feel thicker than usual when I drank from it. Not sure that it is but it felt different.
  14. I sailed the Magic for the first time in 2018. The shows are the same this week they were back then. That is just for the theater, the other entertainment will vary and I agree, longer is always better go for the eight day unless the theater shows are very important to you.
  15. This is the busiest I've seen Cucina, almost full. I gave up on my salad quest. First line had no lettuce. Second line had no salad bowls. I could have used a plate but that's too much for a salad. Went back to the first line, and the line was too much after it hacked up waiting on lettuce. Everyone getting back in the ship right now, not the best time for me to try to grab lunch but it is what it is now. At least I'm sitting. That cake staring at me is taunting me though.
