1. Hey thanks so much. I was actually coming on to say nevermind.:D FH was able to get in touch with someone today and they sent the contract right over. I have good things to say about Jillian. She said she would send it within the hour and not even 5 mins later we had it.:D

Cool glad you all were able to connect with someone finally! I had the same experience with Stephanie. Have you figured out dates yet?

  2. charsettb can you e-mail the contract they sent you with the options. That way I can atleast look at it and be ready to go when I hear back from someone. ugh so frustrating. tdwedding2017 at yahoo.com :D

Sent you an email! I was actually about to post to see if you had any updates.....

  3. Charsettb how long after you made your initial call to book did someone call you back? Everytime I call they keep saying no one is available and to leave a message.

It kinda played a little differently for me. Before the dates were available, I called and was able to connect with Stephanie live on the first attempt. She sent me the contract and profile links so that I could be prepared with the dates were published. Once I had my booking, I called and there was noone available, so I sent an email asking if the contract had changed because I was ready to execute (it changed since march) and she responded same day with the new version but I was out of town. I submitted and she noted it was sent for approval. Two days later she let me know it was approved and we connected for payment. I read somewhere on a blog that email maybe better.

  4. Ugh so now I'm upset because apparently someone already booked the embarkation day and they only do 1 per sailing. I'm upset with my wedding planner because honestly making sure she's on top of Royal is the main reason I retained her. Ugh. so now I have to call, switch to another sailing. so we'll see. of course noone at royal weddings is picking up the phone.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

WOW! That is so unfortunate, I would be beyond upset especially since you have been planning for this specific date. There is a part of me that is really surprised it is gone already, with the sailings having only being posted for a week now. Stephanie has been great, her ext. is 36368. Keep us posted, sorry this is happening to you. I know the anxiety I was having, so I can't even imagine how you feel.

  5. No it didn't. I had to put down the 3k and then was pretty much a go. lol What are you waiting on approval for, did you pay the 3k already?

The process in the contract noted once approved by the Director (I am guessing determining availability/capacity for wedding on a specific sailing) you will be invoiced, at which point we would pay.

Well I am happy to say, I am confirmed and on the books! Come on 7/16/2017!!!

  6. Mine was done in that order as well. I had people booked before the wedding was booked. For me, the wedding was an afterthought as we originally planned on a May wedding, but ended up doing a december one instead :-)

It is funny, that is if they can accommodate my date request! Fingers crossed. I originally wanted May or June, but July worked better for a few schedules so back in Feb I decided to move to July. Honestly, if my TA hadn't suggested it I wouldn't have been aware that there was such a thing. Anticipation is growing daily and everyone (besides his grandmother and my mother) is extremely excited.

I know it has been a couple of years for you, however how long did it take for them to approve your contract?

  7. Do you have your wedding/sail date picked out already Charsettb? Share the good news now that dates are out! :-)

Sailing date 7/15/2017 Anthem of the Seas, however I have requested ceremony on an at sea day. Waiting for contract to be approved, however my TA and I have secured my room bookings/with deposit. Just waiting for other things to fall into place. :D and hopefully they will soon.

  8. I'm booked July 15, 2017 is the wedding date. We'll be getting married on embarkation day ad expect approximately 100 guests with a little over 50% sailing. I have my wedding planner contacting Royal to get all the details and I will share here as soon as she gets back to me. :D

OMGosh! Awesome...I have submitted my paperwork and am waiting for confirmation. Somehow I knew we'd be looking at the same week. God willing I will receive confirmation soon on my preference. How long did it take for royal to approve your contract? We have the rooms blocked for my group and my room is reserved. Just waiting on approval for everything else to fall into place. :D:D So excited for you, Congratulations now let the planning begin!!!!

  9. 18 days out and royal romance informs me they are cutting reception by a half hour. We've had an awful experience with them. They change information constantly as well as bounce us to different people and continue to not answer e-mails.

OH NO! What was the reasoning behind the change and how long was your reception slated for? This is really unfortunate! Was it being held as part of a restaurant buyout?

  10. 49 days until the I Do's!!!!! I'm getting so excited already!!! Trying to wrap up the guest list with those last minute people. Dress fitting was last week and I just have a couple more things to get done. YAY!!!!!

Very exciting! Please share your details, looks like I missed your previous posts. My FH and I are in the beginning phases, waiting on deployment dates for the sailings. I can't wait and we don't even have a date yet!:p

  11. One week to go, one week to go, ONE WEEK TO GO!!!

I wanted to check in, how was the wedding! Based upon how communicative you have been I am sure you are ready to provide a review. I can't wait to read it. I hope you had an amazing experience!

  12. I am getting married while at sea, hopefully on 2/16/2016 on the RCCL Allure. I need suggestions on a few things. We are expecting 25 - 40 friends and family. For those of you who have done this before, would you suggest having some type of reception with either a dj or a band? Is it worth paying a fortune for hors d' oeuvres before or after or would you recommend just going to a lunch or dinner afterwards? Did you like the bouquet you were given?? Did you get flowers for the rest of your wedding party? If so, did you like them? What time of day was your wedding? Did you get the day/ time you had requested?? I'm sure I have more questions, but I think I will stop here for now 😀

Congratulations! How was your wedding experience and what did you decided to move forward with reception wise? I love pics so if you have any to share that would be great.

  13. The party from this particular wedding seemingly hired out Boleros as I saw them in there for a few hours post the wedding on saturday. No photos though, I was just running down to Sorrentos to get a slice and fill my soda cup LOL

I appreciate you taking the time to share pictures and commentary. I am definitely looking forward to the experience and just wish the dates would come out already! :D

  14. Here are some pics of Two70 which based on the number of guests we expect (75-100) will be where our wedding will take place. There's a nice sized dance floor and an upper level with dj booth.

How was the seating, are you having a "meal" reception at Two70?

  15. Sorry work was crazy yesterday. Will post pics today. I need to find a TA. I heard on the main cruise critic Royal board that they pushed the release date out to April. I'm hoping that's not true though and I'll be able to book soon.

Thanks for the update! I look forward to the pictures. Geez , let's hope the release dates aren't pushed back, I am ready to get this moving!:D

Did you have an opportunity to check out any of the specialty restaurants while you were on-board? I have been toying with the idea of buyout of Wonderland although I have not told my FH (he is all about giving opinions and not doing any research). Our numbers keep growing and I want to arrange something really special for those who choose to attend. I have never cruised before so don't have the experience. I have been looking at the shorter trips so that I can potentially experience it prior as you and your FH did. I will definiately be using the boards for inspiration.

  16. Hey we had a great time! It was so nice and although there were a couple of missteps nothing that would deter us and my FH was like he doesn't need to try out celebrity and wants to book Royal for our wedding. :D Now we're just waiting for the dates to be released.

Sorry I didn't see a chapel, I did look at Two70 which is where our wedding would be held and it was beautiful. I also saw a couple getting married on North Star which logistically wouldn't work for us but looked nice. I took so many pictures, I'll post in a few.

Awesome thanks for the update! Can't wait to see the pictures. You gave me butterflies! I am so excited for for you and ME too!!! My TA said the dates should be out this week...I almost can't contain myself.

  17. I'm going on a weekend cruise on Anthem of the Seas on March 4 and was informed there will be a wedding in Two70 on Saturday. I'm going to try and peak in to see how they set it up. Since there's hardly any information out there about this ship and particularly weddings on this ship, I thought I'd use this opportunity. :D If anyone has anything they want me to scope out for them while I'm there just let me know.

I hope you enjoy your trip this weekend! Can you try and get a picture of the chapel as well? I believe the have one. Thanks!

  18. So far they aren't communicating to us on the March 4th sailing. :( Hoping no news is good news.

I was married on the Oasis, if anyone has questions for RCCL weddings in general :-) I'll be attending Mona's on the Summit in May :-)

Tell me everything you can/will!!! I am super excited and again just waiting on the dates to be released, which I hope is this week. I have never been on a cruise before but we thought it would be a good non-traditional way to have fun with our friends and family in attendance for our wedding. Do you have pics? Did you host a reception?

  19. We opted for the Summit for two reasons - cost and because it's a 7 day cruise instead of a 5 day. The summit was actually pricing out better for us - probably because it's an older ship. I've been on the summit before and I love the ship, so I'm pretty happy with my choice.

We're getting married in port the day we leave so I can have non saililng guests join. It's coming up quick! We are almost at the 2 month mark. :)

Exciting, please share pics and experience once you return.

  20. I'm doing a full reception with DJ and buying out a specialty restaurant, most likely Chops if we go with Royal. It's a little pricey but nowhere near what I would spend if I had a regular land wedding. :D Me and FH are going to eat at this restaurant when we do the weekend cruise so we'll know for sure if it's the one we want.

I was considering doing the same thing! I was looking at the al a carte options for the reception, and thought it would technically be a similar in costs. We want an open bar as well. The preference is for a ceremony the 2nd day of sailing. Sorry if I missed it but, how many are you planning for? We are looking at about 60 to sail with us and attend the ceremony and reception.

  21. Yeah even a 5 day on Anthem is going to cost a bit of money. I wish we had Florida's prices:D Try not to hold it against anyone if they can't make it. We're expecting a large group of close to 100 guests to sail with us but that's because we do a family & friends cruise every year and most of the people we're inviting are the same ones that would normally go with us. Even still if no one except for the VIPs (who we consulted, gave an estimate of prices too, and are equally excited about going) showed up I would be fine with that. Heck if it's just me, DH, and our kids that showed up I'd still be excited because hey I'm getting married and I'm cruising. :D And when we get back we go on our honeymoon. 2 vacations in 1!:D

I wish we had Florida's prices as well! I absolutely won't hold it against anyone who can't attend, but those making comments are my friends or family who travel out of the country at min 3 times a year! So my thought is just make my wedding week one of them! Weddingmoon!!! That is a large group, but the more the merrier I say. I have never been on a "real" cruise before so I am thinking about all the possibilities for fun! We have verbally invited 78 at this point and still have a few more. My travel agent is waiting on the dates so that we can hopefully receive some sort of group rate that is tangible for my guests. Once the booking is completed, I book my package and send out the save the dates and wedding site details.

Do you mind sharing what you are doing as far as your ceremony, are you doing a reception, DJ etc....I am toying with the idea of a full sit down reception but keep reading and want to know if it makes sense considering cruises are all about the food. I want to be private and different and yet fun! Thoughts or suggestions!

  22. In port. I was born and raised in bayonne and most of me & DH's family still live there so it will be easy for those not sailing to join us for the wedding. :D

That's awesome. We are very close to Baltimore and wouldn't mind the option of a port wedding, but I want the big and newer boat. So we will just have to drive up, only about a 3 hr vs having to fly guests in. I am accommodating guests by opting for the 5 night cruise so that less time from work or vacation time is used. Also I have taking in account school season etc. It amazes me how much push back I am receiving given how accommodating I have been.....Oh well I will not be deterred and am so excited. I wish there were more "real' life pictures and video's online.
