It happened last week and a few hours later it was back, it must be a tech problem.

I booked a cruise when they were first released. There are two differences with this Autumn offer one being it's now only £50 deposit per cabin and the other is the cruise price is £770 more!
Just shows how booking early really does make sense sometimes. I was advised to book early by other forum members so it's a big thank you 😊

If you can see it better on a phone that’s probably one of the background changes that we don’t see. I use an iPad so now have a stream of photos and adverts down the right hand side all the time.
There seems to be something wrong with the view counter. For the top lot of posts they can have several replies but show as zero views for some reason. I wonder if it counts something different.
i am also seeing a star for posts I have added to and a dot for those I haven’t opened yet. I’m sure there are other features I have not yet.
Like everything new it will take a bit of getting used to I suppose.
I know it's not ideal but if you turn the iPad vertically the posts fill the screen like it does on a phone.

The 2 other friends were all first time with P&O and they even got the £50 obc on the 2 day cruise, but wouldn't have been affected by the 10% mistake.
How strange this must show P&O are not checking?

It looks as though the normal level of P&O inconsistency is being applied to this situation. Some of us have received replies to our emails within hours while others are still waiting more than a week after contacting P&O. I just wonder whether they are cynically trying to keep those who book several cruises per year happy by replying quickly and offering them £50 OBC while dragging their feet for those who book less P&O cruises. It would be interesting to know if those who are being unsuccessful with contacting Christopher Edgington's office usually book several P&O cruises per year or not. I really hope that this is not the case because IMHO everyone should be treated equally and fairly.
I have been on three in two years with two more booked. I heard back with the answer being £50 extra OBC on the same day I wrote. I'm not sure if I fall into a regular passenger bracket or not. Friends of ours who have only used P&O once a couple of years ago waited 10 days for the extra OBC offer. Another couple with no P&O experience heard back in around 3 or 4 days with the same offer. So there doesn't seem to be any connection between time waited for a positive reply and experience of P&O.

The blue bullet button on the first page where you choose which thread to read. It's on the left in front of the thread title.

I was having to log on each day but this morning my bookmark setting has logged me in, so maybe that's a bug they have now fixed.
Not fixed for me yet but I'm sure you are right. They will get there in the end 😉

At first it was a little too white for me but have turned down the brightness on my iPad so it's not so bad. Main problem is I keep getting logged off and having to log in again. Other than that I can live with it but prefer how it was before.

Thanksfor your help - good result - a phone call offering £50 each OBC within a couple of hours of emailing, As our Iona cruise was about £1000 each, £50 OBC is 5%. I don't know if they are paying more for more expensive cruises.
I think it's £50 OBC per passenger across the board as my booking is for less than yours and a friends is appreciably more and we both got the same extra OBC.

The Crystal Rooms are a nice place to sit and watch the world go by, often with a good Jazz band. We are not dancers but enjoy the atmosphere. That is the joy of Britannia, there really is something for everyone. We never saw the crows nest busy, perhaps that was just the times we visited
I had forgotten about the Crystal rooms! Yes a nice place for sitting back relaxing and watching the world go by. Another nice place to sit and just watch is outside Sindhu where nobody disturbs you. In fact there's lot of places some of which we didn't find until the second cruise on her. My favourite place of the lot was the atrium in the evenings listening to the young lady playing the piano.

I was lucky as I had a favourable response in hours but friends of ours are still waiting after nearly two weeks.

The app is no longer supported on the forum I believe.

It all seems a little strange to me. I have received extra OBC as has a friend of mine but not quite as much as me. Another couple hasn't even received an acknowledgment of their email. Perhaps it's a case of ignore it and it will go away?

Speaking as someone in their late sixties it's far too 'white' for my eyes. There should be a theme button on the forum as some have it but others don't. It seems this button controls the contrast from the default setting. I like it when forums improve and become more user friendly but I'm at a loss to see how this is

It's the blue bullet by the title of post before going on to thread. Stupid place to put it though. It should be on the thread itself as you rightly say.
-
To get rid of this awful white background we need the 'theme' button switched on.
-
Just out of curiosity are there any updates to this thread?

Been on Britannia twice and Brodie's the pub never really got that busy. The crows nest is always busy but go early and you will be fine.
-
It does!
Its only been a few days but feels like weeks! 😉

I know I'm in a minority but the train trip was ok, the stop in the hotel by the lake for dinner was good and lastly the return coach journey was wonderful and worth the cost on its own. It was around 90 minutes or so and the guide was superb and was obviously proud of her country. I'm not over fond of coach trips myself but it went by in a flash.
The train trip was only ok as it broke down in the station and we were late getting away by half an hour. It was also so busy as the night before extra tickets were suddenly available by P&O which was strange as they had previously sold out. As I said I'm probably in the minority but preferred the coach taking us back to the ship.

I emailed his office last night and got a reply back this morning from a member of his team saying he had requested them to investigate. Can't expect much more over the weekend I suppose. I think Strawberry field was very lucky yesterday with the timing etc. Will let you know when I hear back.
I was lucky as I wasn't expecting a call until Monday at the earliest. Thanks for the update

Thanks for the replies all. :)
Glad to hear that its not as much of an issue as I thought. I know the whole experience will be different compared to Oceana and Arcaida, so I'm being open minded about it.
Thanks for the tip on the lack of stairs - did I read somewhere they were adding another staircase in the future?
Personally I don't find the lack of stairs a problem as I just walk to either end but I also use the lifts if I need to as the old knees are starting to complain a bit. Using the stairs going down is easy but going back up the problems start..........never mind getting old is better than the alternative ;)

Which email address did you use?
Not sure if email addresses are allowed on here but giving it a go....... christopher.edgington@pocruises.com

Strawberry field.... Did you ring or email? I need to do the same as you!!
I did the same as you and emailed customer services and then received the auto reply saying it could be 28 days before I got a reply. I wasn't really happy with that and after reading another post earlier today decided to email a copy of the email I had sent to customer services to Christopher Eddington with an explanation of why I was sending it to him.
By the way I accidentally clicked the button to befriend you and I haven't a clue what it is! Please ignore the request :)
What memorabilia do you keep?
in P&O Cruises ( UK )

Personally I keep no memorabilia from our cruises and strangely I take very few photos either. Probably because I have a very good memory and don't need anything to remind me. It's something I may regret as being close to 70 I expect my memories will start to fade in the future. If that's the case I will do the cruises again as long as I can remember to book 😊
