  1. Both about the same. We did Xunantunich via a ship excursion. Altun Ha was with a private vendor.

For Favs in Belize: Shark Ray Alley snorkeling and Cave-tubing. Both with private vendors

  2. I've been to Altun Ha and Xunantunich. Xunantunich is worth seeing if you've never seen Maya ruins before. Some people like Lamanai because of its isolation, still being excavated and they feel like "Indiana Jones", whereas the other two are more excavated and have "manicured" grounds.

Altun Ha is a great place if you're not looking for an all day affair. Only about 45-minutes to an hour outside of the cruise tender pier complex. Thus a cheaper/sorter day. But not as large as Xunantunich and not the same type of vistas.

There doesn't seem to be much to do in Belize so I don't mind spending the day traveling to Xunantunich of it's worth the drive. Which of these were your favorites? And what is your favorite excursion in this port?

  3. Ice in a bucket!! And bring a softside cooler, keep it in the shower with ice. Will you really be spending that much time in an inside cabin?

No I don't expect us to spend very much time in the cabin at all. I'm an avid water drinker but I can drink my bottled water at room temp, no problem. But my BF has to have his Coke in the morning and will need it cold...

  4. The Dream is one of Carnival's newest ships. For that reason I am sure you will find a small one in your cabin.

Some older ships don't have them but if you need one for medical reasons (such as keeping insulin cold) your room steward will get one for you.

Thanks Bonnie. I only need one so we can keep the sodas cold that we bring onboard.

  5. I booked this cruise bc I wanted to see Mayan ruins but after research I discovered how long and harsh of a trip it is to Tulum and I don't want to spend my only day in Mexico traveling. So I discovered these ruins and to me, these will work just fine bc I will have time to do ruins and beach. [emoji1] Also, I've read about them online and the history behind them is very interesting.

Thank you for the link, I'm about to check it out now!

  6. Oooh!! Lol. Gotcha. Also, while I have you, can you enlighten me on what DH and DW stand for? I keep seeing that used on this forum and it's driving me crazy to not know!

And the rate board? Is that at the port? I've never been on a cruise so this is all new for me.

  7. I'm sorry but idk what IMHO stands for? Lol. And an hour at the ruins should be fine. Any tips on who to hire for a driver? Also, I've heard great things about Mr. Sanchos!

  8. I want to visit the ruins and also do a beach break afterwards. Should I just get a taxi off the port or would it be better to book a private tour? First time in Cozumel
