When choosing a cruise at Haven prices, there is much better quality and value out there, Cunard for example, unfortunately NCL have created a ship within a ship, where people may feel undervalued by staff just because they are not in The Haven.

I have only done The Haven with an upgrade, and to be totally honest it was only like cruising yesteryear, it just shows how low, cheap and nasty normal cruising has become.

    Totally agree.

There is no substantiation for your assertion about dining plans. They have been around for a long time. I am sure that you remember that they all use to be 7-nights (as much as you can eat) vs 3-dinners. We use to do progressive dinners trying multiple restaurants a night.

They continue to evolve their menus to meet the tastes of the contemporary diner.  Gone are the hammer sliders as appitizers at Cagneys, replaces with lovely roasted pork belly. Yes,,, there was an uproar over the departed of the hamburgers.

The tastes of contemporary diners do not align with food getting less sophisticated in specialty dining restaurants.  The menus increasingly appear to represent the designs of an accountant more than a chef.

  3. Other lines offering unlimited specialty restaurants, free bottled water, extraordinary menus for first class dining, Better exclusive enclave experiences.

Amenities for first class guests are getting better and better on other ships. NCL keeps raising prices and shrinking amenities.

here they are pulling all the premium items off all menus recently:

    How will Norwegian respond?

  4. I have had a couple of experiences with ncl raw bars - one was when they introduced it with breakaway / Cher Zakarian  and it was fresh / good - in more recent days you are getting tiny portions of seafood that seems to have been frozen for ages - chewy and seriously freezer burned.

  5. Hello does anyone know if corking fees still apply if you’ve purchased the ultimate beverage package?

Seems Like the cruise line would be ok bringing a special bottle of champagne on board if you have also bought the beverage package and are a haven guest?

  6. No fresh foods or any types of meats can be brought on board

You can have your butler bring any regular menu item from any restaurant to you.

Otherwise, grill class on Cunard would better be able to meet your specifications. We we presented with the dinner menu at breakfast daily and would special order if there wasn’t something acceptable. And could order caviar at no additional charge.

Thank you bird - I have travelled in Queens Grill class on Cunard and they are indeed remarkably accommodating - if it’s on the ship you can have it!
