I'm finally here - I'm finally here! So excited for your cruise!!!

The new noise - along with the big impact on the views - were the 2 questionable impact points I mentioned months ago. Many debated those, but now it seems in one way or another, both are coming to fruition.

 

The real test will be the first batch of sailings and the passenger feedback.

Did I see a boardwalk balcony package that was added at the same time the hub-ub of the abyss came out. Book a BW Balcony and get some free play soda package OBC? Some sort of enticement ...? If I'm anywhere near correct it's showing RCL is showing sensativity to how this is changing the experience overall and wants to keep their BW balcony guests happy

Still reading and loving your report. Due to scheduling with the kids school plans we will be on Harmony instead of Allure next summer but being sisters it is all still similar and I still greatly enjoyed your review!! The ship and the activities seem perfect

Not sure of experience of others as I clearly haven't sailed in forever and RCL every but from many land based resort experience, glass on pool decks is a dangerous thing. The risk of it breaking and the clean up missing a piece then someone cutting a foot on that piece - I doubt you'll see a glass bottle at the pool deck.

Sabor question I've been wondering. .. I'm not a guac girls. Do they have queso?

And to keep track. .. you are still on leg 1 of your B2B.... I really like this itinerary!

Oh this is fun!! We have our 1st RCL cruise coming up NEXT summer with the entire family. I'm already thinking of what we should book at NEXT CRUISE if DH decides to do so. I'll leave it up to him. He and I have cruised before and he was iffy. It was on a lesser line, so I HOPE RCL changes his mind. And if he does, I think Adventure and her itineraries will suit is really well. I like the idea of the big boats and think it'll be perfect for our family but for the 2 of us, I want a ship that can get to more ports.

I had 2 OV cabins booked on Harmony for July 2017.

I saved just south of $700. I lost my free grat, but even with that balanced out it is a $300+ savings. I will definitely take it!

This is great to note. Yes you could use your 2 bottles of wine for this but on a 7 night cruise, I could see them going fast. We drink different wines and I can see mine gone by night 3 or 4. LOL

Apple & Eve. Those are our favorites! Just woke her up and had her drink one.

I've not cruised YET with my T1 but we cruise next summer and I'm already making my lists.

I'm taking my kids on their 1st cruise. They are a bit older than you are Jack. They'll be 12,15 & 16 when we cruise next summer on Harmony but I'm still really excited to hear your view of cruising. Especially excursions.

This is so hard. I'm bad at dragging out decisions. I like to make a decision and pull the trigger. Hubs is traveling for like forever (2 mos, 1/2 thru). So I stew and research when I'm lonely. And I call him and dump all the information I learned.

So, I called him tonight and here is what we talked about.

Yes, the new week is MUCH better.

Yes, we want to stay Eastern.

No, we really don't like the Oasis itinerary for that week.

Sure, we will spend a bit more to do the same itinerary on.. HARMONY.

So I called - I'm a bit bummed. We went from D1,D2 connecting rooms to D3,D5 connecting rooms. So lost our big balcony - and are paying more for it. Esp with all balcony being the same price AND Harmony premium pricing. It seriously does not look like Harmony has connecting D1,D2 and I NEED the connecting door. Blah

He tried to put us right NEXT to the hump and I got us moved down aft more so we'd have more privacy.

But we got it all moved over. Got deposit moved. Got gratuities pre-paid.

OH! I don't know if they moved over my early dining time.... I should call and check on that. After Monday to see if the new deal will be better.

OK i feel better. Same embarkation port. Same Ports of Call. just have a new ship to learn and NOBODY knows anything about it yet. LOL good thing i have 430 days

We are currently booked on Allure for summer 2017. Based on the kids summer activities we will likely need to shift the vacation 1 week later. We really want to cruise Eastern as we've (hubs and I at least). So we either need to be ok doing Western again or switch ships to Oasis.

Thoughts on this? Is one more "worn" than the other? Are there exciting features on one that puts it over the other?

I've read alot about Ft Lauderdale, guess I need to read about Canaveral.

I have awhile before my cruise... too long and have been reading reviews to fill time. I think I've read this in each of them. I must say, everyone is 10x more a saint than I am. If I was asked to hurry or straight out told being put there was an annoyance (I've read this). I'd happily get up and leave their section. I have a super indecisive preteen and you ask her to hurry and she slows down. Why stress me out on vacation. And on my way out, I'll have a calm word with the shift supervisor. Honestly, for what I will be paying for our cruise next summer, no you can't talk to me like that.

Yes I worked in service industry. My husband as well for many years. I am a Sr Program Mgr for a Client Svc Dept. now and that is just not how to talk to a guest.

I adore cruise staff. They are diverse they are caring and when you get to know them, their stories, but no excuse at all for that.

Mom said she would leave to go to the bathroom and disappeared for almost an hour... I got all paranoid, then tells me she was in the flow rider. It is beyond me how people let their children run loose around a cruise ship. I guess to each their own, although had she told me she was going walking instead than to the bathroom I would not have freaked out.

 

Wait. . So did mom go visit the Flow Rider or did she go for a buggey board ride? LOL

BTW... despite what your pictures show I can assure you we did not stop in San Juan on this cruise? How could we when it is a fake port?

These are helpful for when you leave the ship if you need to take it with you. Remember how hot it will be once you venture out. Also for getting from home to ship.

I got mine online. AMAZON prime can get it to you quickly.

Also, if fridge isn't in room, while you wait for attendant to get yours delivered you can use mini fridge.
