  1. It's 40 reservations, not seats. Since reservations can be 2-5, once they fill up they do a head count to see how many more full reservations can be added. They also leave a big gap for guests doing 'travel with.' If there's one spot for early, someone gets it, and then 'travels with' 7 other cabins on early waitlist, those 7 will be given the spot.

They may have filled up in a day from group bookings and then they all got reopened and you were assigned your waitlisted time.

  2. When you book you choose which dining you want. Early, Late, or Anytime. In each they set aside a certain number for Diamond guests (and maybe others as well. I don't know their exact formula) right off the bat. That leaves "x" amount of space for everyone else.

They only allocate 40 reservations for each dining choice. Once they are all filled up and all three options are waitlisted, they will release another 40 for each dining time.

  3. Where did you find this? I searched to no avail last night. It would be nice to be able to pull it up if needed.

It's Carnival policy #404, "Back to back cruises"

If you call them, ask them to lookup policy 404, and read under the "Alcohol & Beverage Policy"

It's important to look up the alcohol and beverage policy UNDER the back to back policy and not the general 'alcohol & beverage policy'

  4. I think that is understood. But how can she/he choose their cabin number? I was wondering that myself

Yea, I wasn't sure, because the upgrade is always immediate. It wouldn't be good to wait later and run the risk of them not having rooms in that category.

If you are online and select 4A with that upgrade, the system will only show you 4C rooms and nothing else. This can be tricky when some people what a specific room number. An example, if someone wanted a 4B to be next to their friends. The may not want to utilize that full '2 cat upgrade' In a case like this, it's best to call guest services.

  5. I am still waiting for the letter from Carnival recognizing this achievement, and explaining how the 25% OBC works on a future cruise. I'm planning to use it on the Vista this November. .

Book a room at the best available rate. Then call Guest Services and give them your old booking number. They will see there's a 25% credit, and fill out a form to apply it to your new booking. The form will go to Guest Administration where it is usually processed in 3-5 business days.

  6. Carnival policy for alcohol on B2B states:

    "Alcohol and Beverage Policy

The same policy applies - click here for details. Guests are entitled to bring onboard the same quantity per guest, per cruise. The additional quantities will be stored for safekeeping at the start of the first cruise and will be given to the guest as each cruise begins."

  7. If it was applied by the travel agent, same rules may apply. I've found if you book through ta, you are wasting your time if you call carnival directly.

Very true. If you are one that likes to call everyday with a new question, you are better off booking directly.

TA or direct, the cost is the same to you. Carnival will get a portion as commission to the TA for making the sale. In turn, this commission is also used to handle all questions and concerns from the guest and keep the hold times on the phone down. The money used to pay call center workers is basically given to the travel agent so Carnival won't handle those calls that can be handled by someone else.

  8. The credit is unique to your account. Carnival reps cannot discuss any information that is unique to your booking. It is part of a contract they have in place with the travel agents.

If you call in with a TA booking, the only things they can answer is general information that would be available for anyone to know.

  9. OBC depends on how many days the future cruise is.

    3-5 is $50OBC

    6 days is $75OBC

    7-11 is $100OBC

    12+ days is $200OBC

Note: On occasion, Carnival may offer special double onboard credits on select ships and/or sail dates.

Guests will also receive two vouchers they can give to Family and Friends to take advantage of the same on board credit given to the host booking.
