  1. Question,

I am doing a land/cruise package leaving August 21st. My question is when on the cruise for dinner will I be too cold if I wear capri's and where sandal's? I was planning on wearing sandals just at night along with capri's and a top with a light sweater. when I am off ship I have jeans and long sleeve tops and waterproof jacket ect. Will I be to cold wearing this at dinner and to the shows/bars at night?? Do people wear more winter type clothes at night as well? I know when going through the inside passage standing outside on our deck I will need jacket ect.

  2. Hi,

We are cruising with three other couples and all have select dining. We called to link our reservations together. To be able to eat together for dinner every night we were given the time of either 6:15 pm or 8:00 pm. Does anyone know if we don't come at our select time one night due to a later excursion could we give our names in and wait for a table together for a later time.

I know they save that table for you so of course we would give notice if we are unable to make our designated time one or two nights. Just wanted to see if anyone else ever missed their select time on a given night and had a really hard time getting a table for eight at a later time. I would either stop down or call ahead.

  3. Anyone who has done this land/cruise tour can you give me idea's on places to eat in Anchorage, Denali, Talkeetna and Alyeska. Also any excursions you might have done on free time from the excursions already included. Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. If you might have done a review of your trip please tell me the date and name so I can view it.

    Thank you in advance!

  4. Anyone that has done this package recently could you please let me know how you liked it and how the excursions that are included in with this package were. Also if you could recommend any places to eat at the different stops ( Anchorage, Denali, Talkeetna, Alyeska, and Seward) on the land portion and any excursions you might have done that you thought were great on the land or cruise portion of the trip. We leave 8-21-2017

  5. Crusin' Lady,

Thank you so much for sharing the information regarding,

the recent change in how the cost of drinks over the package limit makes the classic beverage package less of a problem for those who want to partake of the Martini Bar or other beverages over the classic package limit. In the past, the entire cost of a drink over the classic beverage package was billed for those who have a classic beverage package. Just this spring, that "rule" was changed and now only the difference between the drink cost and the package limit.

I am so very happy to know that they finally changed that. I was fine with the classic package but always wanted to partake in the Martini Bar once and awhile but thought that wasn't fair that they would charge the full price. Do you know if they added this new piece of information to the Celebrity website? When I just seen what you wrote I informed my travel agent and she told me that her company wasn't informed of this change.

  6. Can I get some excursion recommendations. We will be on the Millennium August 25th to September 1st. are stops will be Seward, Juneau, Skagway, Icy straight , and Ketchikan. Also do most people book through the cruise line? Anyone who booked excursions themselves how did it work out for you? Will also be doing the land portion before the cruise. stops will be Anchorage, Denali, Talkeetna, and Alyeska would love good restaurant and bar options as well as excursion options in these towns.

    Thanks so much!

  7. Hi would really appreciate some suggestions.. I am already booked for late August of 2017 with Celebrity. In talking with people who already have done land/cruise and reading what a lot of people are saying on this site Princess cruise line goes through Glazier Bay and it is a much better experience? Also would like to know twhich cruise line Princess or Celbrity has the better land packages? Would love to know best things to see on land. I was told by Celebrity agent because we are doing land first that we would need to fly right into Alaska. The date if we stay with Celebrity we leave is Aug 21st and it is the Alaska Southern Glacier Cruise. The land portion is 4 nights. When I looked at Princess it looked like it was cheaper and offered more, but I am not really sure. Would really appreciate any help or suggestions. Thank you!

  8. Has anyone recently been on a land/cruise package of Alaska? Any suggestions on cruise line or what to see on land? Also any travel agency's that deal mainly or a lot with Alaska packages. Tried a few travel agency's already and they knew about as much as I did nothing.

Any info. would be greatly appreciated. Planning on going towards end of summer of 2017. Also most people told me it is better to do land then sea, any thoughts? Also any recommendations for what cruise line to go with? was looking at Princess and Celebrity?

  10. Just booked a cruise with Celebrity for Alaska while just on cruise to Bermuda. Booked on cruise cause they lead you to believe your getting a great deal. After talking to different people on my current cruise, I was told I could get much better prices. Is this true? We booked for Aug. 2017 the land package for four day's and the 7 night Alaska Southern Glacier. Without airfare the land and cruise is just under$8,000. Is this high? When I looked at different sites on - line for a Balcony for two in Aug of 2017 it seemed a lot cheaper. So when I questioned this to the booking agent she said the land package was over 5,000 for two? I know it's not a cheap trip but thought this was a lot considering I still need airfare from Philly to Alaska and then from Vancouver to philly? Any help or info. Would be greatly appreciated. Or any suggestions on good travel agency who deal with Alaska land and sea packages.

  11. I can't believe they would only offer it for that one cruise date May 8th? And it wasn't only offered at one location on the ship. If you look at all the post several people received it that week?? Was it only offered that week for people saying in Aqua Class?? Just wondering cause of the many mentions about Blu?

  12. That was wonderful you got an upgrade like that. I was going to also do the guarantee but was afraid cause I had never done it before. Had no idea they would upgrade like that. Could kick myself now. I am on the penthouse deck in room 6037 in June. Guess sometimes it really is worth taking chances. Good for you! So glad you had a great time!
