  1. Is that $64K per person or $64K for the room?

They can probably sleep 8 people comfortably, and I counted things like sofa beds, pullmans, etc up to 12. Didn't see how they could sleep the final two though.

The linked article didn’t specify. Just thinking if I had $64,000 to treat my family to a 1 week vacation, we sure wouldn’t spend it on a ship with 5500-6000 other passengers.

The suite does sound really neat, though! I can’t wait to see the first review with pictures.

  2. So, this is both good and bad.

If my wife and I go on a 7 day cruise, paying $1520 for an oceanview cabin in September (I looked this up), we would lose 25% of our fare if we cancelled at say 83 days out. That would be $380.

The deposit is $500. Under the old system, I would have lost my deposit of $500.

    ...

    Hmmm

Where it gets you is if you have a non-refundable deposit as well. Then at your 83 day example, would you lose both $500 NRD (deposit) and your $380 ?

It’s not clear what is the use of the deposit now with the new cancellation policy.

  3. The new cancel rules show no time period within final payment window, where just the deposit is lost.

So what is the point of RCI requiring a deposit now?

OR - are they also moving to only non-refundable deposit, too?

    Edit:

Thinking about it further, after my existing reservation, I need to rethink strategies. Booking when itineraries are released 2years in advance will lose it’s advantage to me. Going forward I’ll be booking Royal after final payment when my plans will be (mostly) concrete. Or I will look at other lines.

  4. The login is the same across RCCL's lines, but the accounts are still separate so you need to login on separate sites. The look/feel of the sites are different across the lines - I assume to cater to the demographics of the line.

    Biker,

I have a different log-in ID/password on Celebrity site. Am I supposed to be able to access Celebrity site with my RCCL (new email) log-in ID/password?

Is this why Mr. Bayley claimed customers creating multiple accounts over the years was a problem? I thought he meant multiple RCCL accounts for the same person, and not a different log-in for Celebrity vs RCCL.

I notice on Celebrity profile, my mailing address is still listed. On RCCL no address field - and only email option for contact from cruise lines. Appears they are moving away from snail mail, and requiring electronic contact only.

Also, the DOB on RCCL site has been updated to use the 4-digit birth year again, instead of the 2-digit year they slipped in with the new website. (Figured the 2-digit year must have been programmed by someone who was not yet born during the Y2K projects. Is this new website a project by a high school computer science class?)

  5. That should be on your invoice from your TA -- at least mine is.

    Kiwigal had a fair question.

For those that book online themselves, the items previously showed on the RCCL website (including payments). These are missing from the current website.

My reservation migrated over showing just the (correct) final payment balance. Where I could previously see the amount of payments applied to the cruise, with this change the payments line item is not displayed.

Hope they plan to implement it.

  6. Following your entertaining review!

A year until we are back on Liberty (next Spring Break!) , but I can imagine it through your words in the meantime. And we have the opposite aft corner balcony. So fun looking at your (our) view.

Thanks for promoting the passengers on the Galveston cruises! I know many people avoid Galveston due to winter fog possibility, or distance from airport, but as you mentioned, we are for the most part friendly and welcoming.

When I read about CC posts talking about ships overrun with groups of bad kids, I just can’t imagine. On our Liberty cruise during the summer, there were over 1400 kids on board. And our experience was the same as yours - friendly families, no issues. Guess we are very lucky indeed.

Can’t wait for your next posts!

  7. Omg, is this correct? So I didn’t have to give up my user name after all?

    Question To the thread:

Has anyone successfully logged in with a non-email user name after the website change?

Ok, i just did some testing. I tried to login with my (old) user name this morning, and got the same "please try again later" message.

I prompted the forgot PW link, and it asked for my email address. It then asked for a new PW, and received message that PW cannot be reused (yesterday it let me re-use the same password I had). I was then logged in to my account.

So - I then logged out, and it would not let me log back in with my old/newly validated non-email user name. It only let me log back in again with my email address as user name (and with the password that I just had to change).

  8. What I find interesting is that people are getting different results. I can't log in at all and still get the try again later message. My DH can log in but can't navigate to a lot. Others get prompted to change their password. Normally, everyone would have the same issue. Everyone who can log in (even those prompted to change their password) are you using your email address as your log on? I use a logon that isn't my email. DH uses his email address. I do wonder if they have to fix the logon line to recognize something that isn't an email adddress and that's the problem with even logging in?

    BND,

I was using a user name that was not email, and kept receiving the try again later message, I finally called C&A and they sent the password change link to me, that showed my current email address on the account - as my new user name.

In reading the thread, it appears another CC person manually triggered the password change at the initial login screen itself with the forgot password link on the right - also replacing their user name with their email as they did the lost password link. Does this help?

If not, call call crown and anchor desk and explain your user name is not an email. They should help you through it.

    Good luck

  9. I asked my TA to contact Royal and have them redo my docs and luggage tags since I was recently assigned my room (we booked a guarantee).

He said he was about to contact me too because he was informed by Royal that we got an additional $50 OBC and free gratuities, a $200+ credit on our credit card and they are now going to honor one free specialty dining for both my husband and myself!!!!!!!! This cruise just got better.

You must be so excited! That is Great news!

How did the Guarantee assignment turn out?

  10. How do you even get to the point where you can change your password, etc? I try logging in and still get the "try again later" message I've been getting all day. I need details.

    BND,

I finally had to call the Crown & Anchor desk to change my password - they had to send me an email with a link to enable the password reset. Their link also had my email address as the User name, instead of my old user name. It solved my problem.

    Hope this helps.

  11. Sorry, I was making the long drive home. [emoji846] When I tried to login to the Crown and Anchor account, I had to provide some identifying info, then it took me to a login page where it prefilled my email addy as the login, and I filled in my current password, etc. After that it allowed me access. Nothing was showing there though. So I filled in my C&A # again on that page (I think it was to the right side of the page), and I received an ‘it could take 24 hours to link/update’ message. I logged out and when I went to log back in later, the combo that worked for me was the email addy (I used to use my C&A#) along with the password. When I accessed the account, my cruises were there, both future and past, as well as my Emerald status. Of course, I have to use Bob’s link to access my cruise planner, though. Maybe it will all be there by Monday.

    Hope this helps.

Oh, Thanks so much for following up! I just posted that C&A desk helped me to get on. Hope you had a good drive home!

  12. Still can’t log in from the initial screen with my user name and password.

Well C&A help desk just got me in. Had me reset my password and they attached my email address to it. So now I have a new user id - my email, and able to log in.

I am SO glad someone on CC said once logged in, to choose the anchor up in the top-left portion of the screen, to get back to the main RCI website. Thanks, everyone, for the info.

  13. I logged in and then I get to a page that says, "Pardon the Interruption" that wants me to do a one time account validation. The email field is already filled in with someone elses email address. Has this happened to anyone else?

Edit: Okay, got Richard's email address out of my account and was able to reset my password. I was nervous to do an account reset because I did not want my information sent to Richard, whoever he is. Reset allowed me to put in the email address, so now have an account with no C&A number or past cruises, but have lost Richard, so that is something.

Wow, that is crazy. Wonder how many other accounts are mixed up?

  14. ... When setting up the ‘new’ account, be sure to follow the recipe for the password AND use your email addy as the login ... [emoji16]

HI, can you give more information where you talked about setting up the

'new' account? Once you logged in (with a user name?) were you prompted to enter an email address for a new user name?

    thanks for the info

  15. I have the same problem. ... . I think that the issue is that my login name is not an email address. Therefore, I tried to create a new login name but it simply said that my email address was already in use. I think this new web site was put on line before it was debugged; typical for RCCL technology.:mad::mad:

Hi, I am also trying to use a login name that is not an email address, and also getting the "try later" message.

Anyone successfully able to log in to the new (blue) system with their old user name (not email)?
