  1. So if you pick a later time (say 11:00),  will you still wait and board after the 10:00 check-in people board?  It sounds like you will have to wait 1.5 or 2 hours before first boarding time, so any reason to pick later or the wait will still be 1.5 or 2 hours because earlier check in people will go ahead of you?

  2. For NYC what is the earliest check in time? If it is 10:00 am what time do you try to get there?  Do you have to line up outside or can you line up inside?  Trying to plan since we have a Monday departure and morning traffic could be a bear in NYC but don’t want to wait outside for hours because we got there too early (because we avoided morning rush hour).  Decisions decisions…

  3. I started a different thread about this but got no replies so maybe a different title will work!  Have others found that their young adults (18-20) have been able to make friends on the ship? What are the 18-20 meet ups like?  Is it organized in any way, like icebreakers, or do they just show up and introduce themselves?  Please advise so I can decide whether to book or not.  It would be the Escape the first week of March which is a popular college spring break week.  Thank you!

  4. Does anyone have experience cruising with a college student during college spring break.  Not looking for a “spring break cruise” with a bunch of partying kids but want to know if there is anything organized for this age group.  It would be during a popular spring break week so have to assume other families travel with college age kids and will be others onboard but he’s worried he’ll be bored and not meet other kids his age.  And yes he’ll be bored hanging out with us and yes there’s lots to do on the ship but what he really wants is what has happened on past cruises when he could still go to the teen club and meet everyone and have friends to hang out with for the week. What have others experienced?  TIA!

  5. Does anyone know how strict they are about this or if they are even conscious of someone turning 18 on the ship? My teenager enjoys Entourage and is wondering if she will be kicked out for the last few days once she turns 18 or if she will be able to slide through since she starts the cruise at 17 and presumably will have a "17 year old" bracelet/keycard. Thanks for any insight!

  6. We stayed in 12906 in Feb 2017 and have booked the same room for 2018! Loved it! Master bath is amazing and the extra bathroom was ideal for our son so we could have two showering at the same time! There is a slider to the balcony from the living room and a swinging single door in the bedroom. Location was fine for us -- some complain about walking to the Haven all the way forward, but there is an elevator pretty close to the Aft rooms (I counted between 75-100 steps) and we never thought it was too much. Not loud for us at all. Sometimes had straws on the deck in the morning that blew off the top deck H2O. If you lean over the side of the balcony to look to the front of the ship, hold onto your hat or sunglasses! Have fun!

  7. You'll love the Aft Haven. The UBP rules are the same for Haven guests (at least as far as I know. We never were turned down for a drink so I assume we never went over the $15.00 limit but maybe it was a higher limit?). Room service is free but not alcohol in room or delivered by your butler. When we last traveled in the Haven, we didn't go to a private island so I don't know the answer to that. Other perks -- once through security at the port, you will be placed in a private Haven lounge (really just a room with snacks) where you will be checked in. Then they will come and escort you onto the ship before everyone. They literally parade you through the masses who stare at you! Odd feeling for sure! Then you go to the Haven lounge on board where they will get you a drink and serve sliders while they give a welcome speech. Then to your room. No lugging your stuff around waiting for your room! They also made Jimmy Buffet Margaritaville free for Haven guests that afternoon. Not sure whether that happens on all cruises, but probably that one or another restaurant not open to everyone. Enjoy!

  8. We are on the 2/25 Escape sailing and wondering if anyone out there is traveling with teens on this cruise? We are going an off-week for Massachusetts February vacation (and RI and CT, and NY, etc...) so are worried there will be no teens for our son (just turning 16) to hang out with! No need to provide details; just want some reassurance that there will be other teens on board! Thanks!

  10. What does everyone think about the teen club on the Escape. Are there activities all day long for the teenagers? My soon to be 16 y.o. son loved the teen scene on RCI and is disappointed that we're going with NCL for our second cruise. I just saw someone posted the Escape dailies and the teen section was very short. On RC, there was a "teen daily" that listed all the activities/contests, etc. Does Norwegian do something similar? Thanks for any help! I'm getting nervous he will be bored (LOL and then mad at me for not picking RCI)!
