  1. There is a whole thread on the use of hot spots. You can buy the package and use your hotspot to be able to use as many devices as you want. I have not tried it, but several others said it works.

  2. Next time its just 2 of us I will try that. Having to sit at a table full of strangers was enough to make us stay in the Lido for dinner. On our first cruise alone we got stuck with one of those loud guys that brags to everyone about his money and asks everyone else what they do for a living[emoji849]

  3. I’m thinking the descriptions will never match exactly. Usually the independent tours have different stops and longer duration. For example we booked a 4 hour private charter for snorkeling in Grand Turk for less than the 2 hour snorkeling excursion with Carnival. They go to the same places, but I’m sure they would say they are not the same excursion.

  4. What annoys me about Carnival excursions are the darn “bathroom” stops. I feel like I’m in the 2nd grade on a school field trip. There always happens to be a gift shop by the bathroom. Hmm... When port times are limited I like to spend my time on my planned activity not waiting for that last group of lingerers to get on the bus.

  5. We did the Segway tour in Freeport. My son enjoyed it. We went by a couple famous athletes’ houses and learned some history. Also got to mess around on the Segways and go to the beach at the end.

  6. When i tried booking a different excursion through a company directly, they told me i could not do it if i came on a cruise line, as i can only book through the cruise? they are not allowed to book cruise passengers independently? This was for a Terra Cross excursion I wanted to do.

I have had the same experience a couple of times. Carnival makes deals with certain companies to do their excursions and apparently some of those deals do not allow the companies to book cruise passengers independently. Oasis in Grand Turk is one of those companies. Not all the companies have deals with Carnival and not all the deals are exclusive.

  7. San Juan is historical and beautiful don’t get me wrong, but if you’re into history you can’t forget the Mexican ruins. Cozumel and Costa Maya have access to some great ones. Belize does too. There is an itinerary with all 3 of those ports plus the Cayman Islands for a spectacular beach place. Port Canaveral is the most organized port to leave from to do that. You can leave from Miami if you prefer but the port is a zoo.

  8. Carnival is similar to Royal Caribbean. However, we went to Alaska on Holland America and my teenage son said he would never cruise again[emoji23][emoji23] My husband and I are in our 40s but we were the spring chickens on the cruise. You could count the kids on one hand. We enjoyed the itinerary but will stick to Carnival for family fun.

  9. Do something in the jungle in Belize. To me that is a must. All the other ports you can get away with beaching it or shopping if you are not a planner. However, if you only do one excursion make it something to your liking that involves the nature of Belize.
