Just wanted to add in case anyone is looking for help for Galata Port. It is a long walk, we disembarked in Galata Port and baggage claim was chaotic. We were able to find Tophane Tram stop quite easily, but a scammer was there blocking tourists from buying tram tickets. He charged us 600 Turkish Liras for a 10 ride ticket - shareable with other people, it should have been 170 Turkish Lira. We wanted to buy our own tickets but he was blocking the machines and keep rushing us saying people are waiting. Think he had an accomplice too. It would have been even cheaper with Istanbulkart - 70 Lira for the card and then load any amount onto it, 15 Lira per tram/bus ride. I believe metro might be a bit more expensive but not more than 25 lira ride. Same with Marmaray. I would have reported him to Tourist Police but the kiosks were closed. Sigh…

Santorini Views got back to me - so they are saying there is no cable car from 10:30-14:30, on the other hand, they gave me several water taxi #s, but they are saying the season for water taxis are over. May have to hoof it up the path. On the other hand, there is one other ship at the port same time as us, maybe the ferry would run?

Thank you! I was thinking of taking the local bus and metro if the ship won't have a shuttle. It is about 4 euros from what I read for a day pass. I do believe though that the local X80 bus stops running October 31. The disadvantages of going during off season.

Just wondering - we can purchase Acropolis tickets on site right? We’re in Athens Nov 20 and I plan to DIY Athens city tour using Rick Steves guide and in the afternoon visit Acropolis. As such I don’t have an exact timing to purchase tickets in advance.

Hi, Just wondering, whatsinport website mentioned there may be a 18 euro shuttle bus that the cruiseships put out from Piraeus port to Athens, but they don't announce it until the night before, has anyone had experience with this elusive shuttle? I'm going on NCL Dawn and was debating between this shuttle and the day pass offered by Athens transportation.

Our cruiseship, NCL Dawn is in port November 19, which I believe is the only ship in port that day. However, we don't dock/tender until 10:30, but the cable car in the morning appears to stop at 10:30?

Following also - I am staying in Istanbul after my cruise for a couple of days and thought I would need an Istanbulkart - not sure if Galaport has some place to get one easily?
