Both M1s (10316/10916) are wheelchair accessible staterooms. By booking one when accessibility  isn't needed, the stateroom is not available to book by someone who actually needs one.

Just so you know my hubby is permanently disabled so even though not in a wheel chair having more space to maneuver helps, and we would qualify for use of this room.  We have re-booked to a regular Aft Cabin for the savings and extra latitude points leaving the M1 cabin available for someone else.

  2. We are currently booked in Aft Club Balcony Suite on the Norwegian Breakaway.  We booked it June 25th and then the additional 2 points per night became available but NCL can't help me receive this offer unless I re-book and there are only 2 of these cabins on the entire ship, so to take advantage of additional points I'd have to move down to a regular Aft Balcony cabin.  I've been very happy with a Aft Balcony cabin on Breakaway on past cruise and if I rebook the next time I sail we would be platinum.  If I keep existing reservation I will be 1 point shy of Platinum.  Is the Club Suite worth loosing additional points, thoughts? (Photo is of our Aft Balcony on deck 9 from prior cruise)

  3. I just spoke with my NCL cruise consultant and was informed that my cruise on Norwegian STAR,12/11/21, Rio to Santiago (B2B). Has been frozen by cruise line and that is because "NCL is evaluating suspending this journey and if they do I will receive an email tomorrow"

Yes, same with the Spirit leaving Istanbul on 10-31-21. On my account they want me to make final payment, but on a search of upcoming cruises it doesn’t even show as an option to book. 😢😢

I'm sorry this is such a bummer for all of us!  This is my 60th Birthday trip and I have had it booked for over 2 years now. (the Singapore one), I booked the Rome to Miami as a backup plan in January because of Australia's strict no tourism allowed policies. Now it looks like neither will happen.

  5. I just called Norwegian to inquire on when they might make some decisions re: my cruise Norwegian Spirit 12/6/2021 Singapore - Sydney to see when they will decide to cancel this cruise.  The representative was just "RUDE" did not want to "speculate", I simply wanted to know if they would decide prior to final payment being due?  I asked then "Has the Cruiseline when cancelling thus far, been cancelling prior to final payment?"  Dude just did not want to answer.  If any of my cruise critic peeps have information on cancellation timing please????

??????  What exactly do you expect a pcc to do?  They aren't the ones making decisions on itineraries, cancellations, etc.  Best they can do is make sure your discounts, credits and so on get applied correctly - and I've got that part covered, no need to "hassle" anyone.

I have been doing a little research on Singapore to Sydney Itinerary and below you will see what Australian Government is saying, my guess is Australian government will update travel restrictions before the June 17, 2021 date and we will know if Spirit trip is cancelled.

I think NCL will make a decision in June on Sydney to Singapore trip as Australian government has shut it's borders until June 17th as of March 2021 update.  I feel Australia will update their Covid Protocols for foreigners by end of May wether they will continue to exclude tourists or not.  Below I have copy and pasted from this site:

                                https://www.skyscanner.com.au/news/when-can-i-travel

Department of Health Secretary Dr. Brendan Murphy states that Australia’s borders might be closed to most international destinations for most of 2021, depending on the status of Australia’s nationwide vaccination program. Dr. Murphy told ABC, “I think that we’ll go most of this year with still substantial border restrictions… Even if we have a lot of the population vaccinated, we don’t know whether that will prevent transmission of the virus.”

Here is another site regarding June 17th date:

    https://www.health.gov.au/news/health-alerts/novel-coronavirus-2019-ncov-health-alert/coronavirus-covid-19-restrictions/coronavirus-covid-19-advice-for-international-travellers

Since 27 March 2020, no foreign-flagged cruise ships may enter Australian waters (with limited exceptions). The cruise ship ban has been extended to 17 June 2021, but this does not mean the ban will be lifted at that time. The Australian Health Principal Protection Committee reviews the ban regularly.

I hope not...I'm booked on that Singapore to Sydney cruise!

Me too!  I wonder when Norwegian will pull the trigger on either a new itinerary for the Spirit or cancelling cruise?  (In my humble opinion I do not believe Australia will permit cruise ships in 2021.)

Apparently there’s a new strain of the virus called the  p1 stain that came from Brazil.

Doctors in Europe where it is currently taking a hold say it’s immune to the vaccines. It’s predicted it’s 150 times more potent.

Dont go packing those bags just yet.

I found this information and thought I'd share 🙂

What to know about the P1 mutant COVID-19 strain in Shelby County |

A Q&A with Dr. Manoj Jain

In cities in Brazil where it originated, the P1 mutant strain has caused devastation with a huge number of COVID-19 cases as well as hospitalization.

Does the vaccine work at all against the P1 mutant stain?

Yes. This is a really important point to know. Recent studies show that though the mutant P1 strain may have slightly lower antibody efficacy of the vaccine, there appears to be good T-cell immunity against the P1 mutant strain. Overall the vaccine will be very protective against severe Covid disease, hospitalization and death. As for the B117 mutant strain, also known as the “UK strain” all the vaccines are very efficacious.

I’m trying to remember but I think the H2O bar is like pool bar so it closes at approx 5 or 6 (check the dailies) but one can still go into the pool. The terrace bar will still be open 2 levels (staircases) up.

No activities there during the Rome - Dubai Cruise.

Thank you for the wonderful post you did and for helping me with this question too!
