  1. Yep. A couple of years ago when we sailed on the Breeze we smelled it quite often on that ship. However, when we came back from that trip and reported it on these boards we were blasted by many, many Breeze loving folks who tried to tell us that we were lying.

We've gotta a few small, occasional whiffs on other ships but that ship was reeking (sp?).

Don't know about the Magic since we haven't sailed her yet but we do have our cruise next year booked on her so please report back your experience when you return ok?

    Happy sailings!!!!

We don't sail until April of next year so I may not be able to assist you. Sorry.

  2. Winddawn, I appreciate your experience. This will be our 6th cruise, husband is a Navy Vet with much more sailing experience than I. As most people, we look forward to a wonderful cruise vacation. And when things aren't "perfect" we address it and then roll with it. I was not looking for a lecture on what type of vacation might suit me. Cruising suits me. Smelling sewer does not. I have never experience any odor on any of the 5 prior ships we have been on except diesel exhaust. Which I have grown to love, since the only time I smell it is on a ship. I'm just inquiring as to where and when people are experiencing the orders.

  3. My family of 4 are going on celebration vacation/cruise in May 2018 out of Orlando. We are flying up on Thursday and our cruise on the liberty is Sunday. This is our first cruise and time in Orlando. We plan to go to Disney world for the little one for two days, but stay at a hilton restort. We want to rent a car, but unsure how to do it when our cruise is for 5 days. Anyone have experience with renting a car for a few days then renting it back to get back to the airport. Do car rentals offer a discount since we only need it for an hour when we get back on following Thursday? Also any advice on things to do in Orlando that does not cost as much as Disney and will keep the little one entertain. Any advice for the cruise and excursion is welcome as well, as we are going to Nassau and Princess Cay.

    Thanks!:)

Try Priceline. We have used the name your price option few times while in Florida. We got great deals with them.

  4. Everyone before me is correct. There really is no right or wrong. On our first cruise we had a port hole. We wouldn't do that again. (Do they even have port hole rooms anymore?) Next two cruises we had inside cabins. We were very happy with them. No kids and we were not there that much. The last cruise we got a balcony and sailing with kids. That little bit of "extra" room helps so much when everyone is trying to get ready to get to breakfast, dinner, show etc. Because we have kids and they go to bed a bit early we loved being able to sit on the balcony at night. But if we were to ever sail without the kids again I could go back to an inside cabin. But with some patience and research you can get a balcony for not much more than an inside. In the end it's all up to you and what makes you happy. Heck, your on a cruise, it's all good.

  5. Gibb's is easier to get to, in better location to see more of Bermuda and is higher than St. David's.

One glass beach is fairly close to Dockyard. If you take a #7 bus, the driver will most likely know where to drop you off. The other is much farther away in St. George's. Be aware that taking glass from the one near Dockyard is not permitted.

Thank you so much! I really appreciate it.

  6. I'm hoping someone here can help me. I have a few questions. 1. There are two lighthouses I am finding in Bermuda Gibb's and St Davids. Is one better than the other? 2. I have read there are more than one sea glass beaches. Can someone give tell me where I can one? Thank you in advance.

  7. The last time we cruised my kids were 4 and 9. The first night we asked the the adult menu for both kids. We got a look but once they saw my kids eat all was good. My kids don't normally eat the stuff on the kids menu. Not that they don't like it, they do. But I'm not having them eat that stuff all week. I'm not sure that the kids meals are now but three years ago it was nothing but chicken fingers, hamburgers, fries, hotdogs, etc. I think the kids menu needs some updating.

  8. I'm hoping some of you can help me. We are taking our girls out of school for our cruise and would like them to learn something other than how to have fun on this trip. We will have a ship load of people (staff) from all over the world and being in Bermuda for three days I hope we have a chance to talk with some locals. Can you all help me put together some questions for my girls to ask? I would like them to speak to some of the staff and learn about their home countries and what it's like living on a cruise ship. Maybe try to contact some of the higher ups to learn what type of education helped them get to their positions. I'm hoping they can put the info together in such a way that they might be able to get some extra credit at school. Thank you in advance.

  9. To all you casino veterans out there, this one may seem a little silly. I usually play the penny slots and have marginal winnings (and marginal fun) or the machine takes my money before i even know what happened (then this is no fun).

I would like to try some roulette on this cruise and just have the following questions:

1- Is this a social game? I know in craps usually people are rooting for each other, does roulette provide the same social atmosphere?

2- I'm not a huge gambler, so can I have fun for an hour or so with $100? (I'll be on the Getaway so maybe they have a $5 table?)

3- Are the dealers accommodating to new players?

Any other general tips would be appreciated, thanks as always in advance, i always get great info here.

Roulette is very easy and fun if you have the right group at the table. Do a google search on the rules and how to place different bets. There is more bets than odd/even and Red/Black.

  10. The thing I look most forward to, is the service. I appreciate it so much. It's that one time that I don't have to serve anyone else. People serve me. No thoughts of what to cook for dinner or cleaning it up or anything regarding "normal" life. I love vacation time, but I love it even more when on a cruise ship.
